Who do you think would make a good female Doctor?

I've always loved Helen Bonham Carter, but I'd love to hear other people's ideas!
Also, I've always imagined The Doctor turning into a girl going something like this...

*checks hair* “Still not—”

*grabs at throat* “No adam’s apple. High voice.”

*runs to the nearest mirror, claws off jacket, stares at chest* “Oh dammit, I’m a girl!”

*Continues to grope at chest* “How the hell am I supposed to run with THESE?”

While that would be totally hilarious, I was never really that into the idea of a female Doctor. Unfortunately, I don't think the producers would be either. Still, you never know...

Actually, I can't remember who it was but there was a women who was almost cast instead of Matt Smith!
