“ I believe the human way to end this would be to say: ‘I now pronounce you man and wife’.”, There was something about the way that Marak said those words that made Seylin think that the Goblin King was teasing them. Goblins always told the truth, so he supposed they had more things to laugh at; but, Seylin felt quite uncomfortable with he twinkle of glee that danced in Marak’s eye. But he imagined that Marak had reason to be impish. Resisting the desire to shake his head, the ex thief turned his body towards Linwe to risk seeing a negative expression in her face. However, though she seemed far less than happy, he didn’t see any hatred in her features. If not for her body being angled a certain way, he might have seen the tears glisten in her eyes and said something more significant than silence.
“ What will happen next?”, Seylin waited for Marak to answer. Even with knowing exactly what he was supposed to do for the goblin ruler, Linwe seemed to desire further specifics and he didn’t want to speak at the moment and risk ruining the tone of the room by idle chatter. As odd as it felt to know he was a married man, he had expected to suddenly feel different when the ceremony was over…instead he felt as if very little had changed. Linwe was still upset at his presence near her, and he doubted that would be changing any time soon. ‘ I have a wife I‘m forced to baby-sit.’, while the thought was not entirely true, the sentiment certainly felt the same. Marak seemed to have been more interested in handing Linwe a handkerchief than answering her question right away, so Seylin watched the pair with darkened eyes.
“ Oh Linwe…no need to I]cry dear one…I picked you a good husband…at least he doesn‘t have a tail.”, Marak started to chuckle very quietly and Seylin felt an anger burn in his chest from the comment. Crossing his arms over his chest and pinning Marak a subtle look because he did have a type of ‘tail’ at some point, Marak seemed oblivious to any and all warning signs. With Seylin stuck in his weak little human form, there wasn’t anything that the man could do to him.
“ Well lovebirds, I have your bags packed and two fine horses to carry you to the castle.”, Seylin thought he heard Marak mumble: Since I doub’t there’ll be any kind of a honeymoon, and the tone Marak used when she said it made his eyelids squint in a glare. Being escorted from the room, it took approximately forty minutes to be settled on their horses and walking towards the castle. Half a day’s journey later, Seylin brought his horse to a mild trot and turned his head towards Linwe with a soft expression.
“ It‘s getting late Linwe, should we set up camp or carry on?”
[sorry this took forever ^^;]
