true that. sometimes reigion ( specificaly christianity) can seem intermingled with the whole homophobia thing. And, although many churches ARE against homosexuals, they dont exactly coincide.

The first case you mentioned shows someone apparently doesn't understand the privacy rights of people- and is clearly disturbed. The so called "Don't Say Gay" bill only says that human reproductive science will be age appropriate, Human Reproductive Science is still part of the lives of people who are LGBT.

Gay Marriage is worth fighting for- and all the bigoted rhetoric in the world may be dressed up in Sunday Bests- but it isn't the fault of the religions but the fault of people who are homophobic.

I actually still have faith in America. Progress is very slow here, but I do see it. I have no doubt that gay people will have their rights someday here.

OWo munchies oWO
Though the country have many issues, there are also better things about it.

America offers more opportunity and social mobility than any other
country, including the countries of Europe.
Work and trade are respectable in America, which is not true
elsewhere.
America has achieved greater social equality than any other society.
People live longer, fuller lives in America.
In America, the young create their destiny, rather than have it made for them.
America has the kindest, gentlest foreign policy of any great power in
world history.
America, the freest nation on earth, is also the most virtuous nation
on earth.

errr..... I'd love for that to be true, I'm about to be a Marine and all.. but you need to do some research on that.
We are not amongst the top nations on issues of egalitarianism, our lifespan is around 10-20 years shorter than most western european nations, and it is not particularly the nicest nation to serve. but as a country of such I'm still willing to serve it.

Freest country on ear-thohhhhhhh you're trolling me =P

Eh, Maybe. But still, like bollier said, 'progress may be very slow her, but I do see it.' and if it's not at least one of the nicest then what is? I mean in your own opinion where is America right now...?

And, eeh? Trolling you? How?

Well, in the Global Peace Index out of 153 nations, America is around 83rd. The top nations are consistently Nordic countries, Japan, Canada. Generally they are always in the top 10. At least America isn't in the 100's though, right?
