He had wandered far enough away, taken too many steps. Tamu had grown tired of wandering around, searching for his light in what had become such a broken world. His love had ventured off, had a litter of her own, and was happy. She had no idea how he felt, and it was, honestly, better off that way. If she knew, she'd only worry about him, and that's the last thing her wanted. For now, he had settled on a new home, far from his old family den was. He had met the queen of this new pride, and she made it sound like such an escape from what his life had previous been. And as far as Tamu was concerned, it was. His family was splitting, and he wanted to be away from it, to start his own life.

Slinking along, Tamu almost floated through the grass. It was twilight, and the cool air felt amazing on his soft coat. He couldn't think of anywhere else he'd rather be, but when he thought about it, he really didn't know many of his pride members. He had been delayed following the King and Queen to the lands, needing to tidy up some unfinished business at his home. By the time he came to the lands, he darted along the outskirts of them, feeling hesitant to start in his new life. It was probably the big change that scared him, but he was learning to adjust. Slowly.

Kivuli found himself wandering about the pride lands this night. It was rare for him to be up and about at this time but he had much on his mind. His children were growing up quickly, each showing off their unique personalities. But Nyota was sometimes a bit too different. Maua was worried about their daughter's rebellious behavior and even Kivuli had to admit he was worried about her. Not much bothered Kivuli, but the thought of his daughter running off into the roguelands and possibly getting herself hurt did sit heavily on him.

So he had decided to go for a walk this night, to clear his mind and try to think of ways to protect his daughter without making her feel trapped within the pride. Padding along Kivuli caught movement up ahead. Quickening his pace to see just what it was he spotted what looked like a cheetah off in the distance. There weren't any cheetahs in the pride from what he could remember. Perhaps one of Nyota's rogue friends then? "Hello there." He called out as he approached the cheetah, his voice was friendly and welcoming.

His ears flicked forward and Tamu's brown eyes swiveled up to lock onto a darker figure coming towards him. His first instinct usually was to run, especially because this was the figure of a lion. But since he had been with the pride, he was coming to terms with just standing there, being friendly with others that came towards him. His tail twitched and wrapped around his back leg, and Tamu sniffed the air cautiously.

"Hey." He steadied his voice, trying to come across as friendly. It was his first time meeting someone other than the Queen, so it was quite momentous. Maybe after this meeting, he'd have enough courage to finallyy go deeper into the pride and fulfill the duties of his given rank. "I do believe this is a first; my name is Tamu."

He took a few steps close to the other male, though still kept a good distance between them as he could see the other was perhaps a bit nervous. Lowering himself down on his haunches Kivuli did his best to make himself look as non-threatening as possible. After all this cheetah was his equal as far as he was concerned. "It is good to meet you Tamu. I am Kivuli, noble of the Suka'Fumo pride."

As much as Kivuli hated using his title, for it made others feel below him. This time he felt it was necessary in order to show the other male that he was high in the pride but was still a friend. "This is the border of the prides lands. Were you looking for someone?" If this cheetah wanted to join the pride then Kivuli would certainly bring him in, but he did not want to press the subject for fear that it may turn the male away. All things in due time.

"The feeling is mutual." Tamu gave a shy smile, not used to actually conversing with others. So a noble, eh? He knew that the female that had convinced him of the whole journey out here had been of the highest rank, but he didn't expect to meet another so soon. It wasn't a huge surprise, after looking at him; he was dark, with the customary colors of nobles.

"Oh no, I'm just....where I need to be." It was true, he still needed to talk with the queen one last time, but he knew that he had already had it set in his mind that this was his new home. Minor details, minor details. If he wasn't occupying his time here, he might be drifting back to the dysfunctional family that he had grown so annoyed with in the first place.

Kivuli thought on the cheetahs words, he was where he needed to be. That was quite an interesting statement. Perhaps he had already spoken to someone previous about the pride and was only now making his way to his new home. Of course those words could mean something else as well.

"Have you spoken with another about the pride before?" Kivuli asked with a smile. He wasn't sure if he had gained the cheetah's trust yet so he didn't want to seem to forward. All things in good time, that was the way Kivuli thought of things. Everything had its designated time and one could not force events to go faster or slower than what they were meant to be.

Smiling back, the young cheetah let his head drop a little bit in a relaxed manner, letting his small white mane flop over his eyes. His brown eyes traced invisible lines in the ground, and he turned the question around in his mind. He wasn't quite sure whether it'd be a good idea to tell him who it was that had first filled his young mind with the ideas of this pride. But this was his new home, and he didn't want to start off holding secrets.

"I spoke to the Queen, some time ago, when I was still small." He fondly remembered the day the bright pastel lioness came wandering near his den. He thought she was going to kill him, but the meeting ending for the better. He knew that she had been an omen of some sort, and she had changed his life for the better. "One of the best days of my life in a long time." He spoke in an aged manner, even though he had barely passed adolescence.
