[PRP] Spreading The Good News (Kivuli & Bwana)

Kivuli padded about the royal section of the pride land deep in thought. He was going to be a father soon. He had always wanted cubs and the idea had excited him beyond anything. Though as excited as he was, Kivuli had to admit he was a bit nervous about the whole thing. He knew he would be a good father, there was no doubt in his mind. And Maua, well she would be a good mother. But he worried about the cubs more than anything. Would they have enough purple on them to satisfy Maua? Would they follow they parents and choose to be nobles or perhaps leave the pride completely.

He gave his head a shake, his large purple mane puffing up a bit as he did so. Really he didn't have to worry about such things. He was just being your typical worrisome father...and the cubs hadn't even been born yet. He picked up the pace a bit, to a fast walk and continued his round about the royals area. Soon he would return home and check on Maua, attend to any needs she had. But he knew that right now she was sleeping and Kivuli knew better than to disturb her sleep. Especially now that she was pregnant. That made him smile a bit as he padded along.

He was getting used to roaming the pride lands, looking like a king. He was getting used to addressing others as though he led them, and for everyone to know what he really was: a ruler. Before, when he had been running, he never told anyone he was meant to be a king. It had thusly been rather strange to have others addressing him as “sire” and “lord” at first. But with time came familiarity with things that had once been so strange to him it filled his stomach with dread every time he heard the formal words. Now… he just understood that he was supposed to be respected.

If he was respected, he could lead them. It wasn’t bad that they called him lord. He needed to be more worried when they weren’t respectful to him. Unless, of course, they happened to be his queen.

She got a pass on the respect thing.

Walking along, he noticed a male not far from him. Going from what the nobles of the pride had been chattering about, it seemed as though this was the male that was soon to be a father. How exciting! The first legitimate –cough- breeding inside the pride. Smiling, he ventured towards the other. “Good day, kind sir!” he offered.

Kivuli was so deeply in thought that he nearly missed the approach of the King. But luckily for him the purple lion was pretty easy to spot so he pushed his thoughts aside and greeted his King with a smile. "Good morning your majesty." He said with a bow. "It is a beautiful day to be out isn't it?"

It was hard to contain his excitement over his future cubs but he certainly wasn't about to just jump into that subject without showing the proper respect to the King first.

"Quite beautiful indeed!" Remarked Bwana, watching the other. It was nice that not all of the nobles looked at him like he was still a younf child foolishly rebelling against his duties. Then again, this lion was not much older than he was, it seemed. Moving a bit closer, he sat himself down, letting his tail wrap around his body.

Down to business.

Offering a smile, he continued. "I heard through the grape vine," a fitting term considering the purple of his nobles, "that you're expecting a litter of cubs in the new future. Is that true?"

His smile grew bigger at the kings words, and he lowers himself down on his haunches. "What you have heard is true. We are expecting a litter. Maua and I are quite excited about it." The thought of having cubs to raise and teach was heartwarming.

His gaze looked out at the pride for a moment. Did the King not also have a litter recently, albeit not with the queen, but Kivuli was not one to pass judgment on those types of things. It did after all happen before he returned to the pride and claimed his queen. "And you have a litter of your own do you not?"

“I’m happy to know that there will soon be more happy little paws around the pride! The fresh faces will undoubtedly lifts spirits around here.” He was happy to know that there would be more cubs, though not just because he wanted to see new blood in his pride. There was also a deep desire to watch his cubs play with new pride members. They would be happy to have other babies to engage in fun happenings with! Though they were growing a bit now.

It would still be good for them.

Speaking of his litter, the suddenly stunned king looked at Kivuli. They knew? Oh crap. “y-yes,” he admitted, “I do have a litter. They’re growing quite well and I’m starting to see their interests and personalities. It is very exciting, actually.” He smiled, “you’ll be happy to be a father, I’m sure of it.”
