People claim that the Philippines was found in the 1500s, and many different websites claim that they know who the founder is. It's actually a mystery to me.

To complete the symbolism of the flag, the red stripe represents courage and bravery and the blue stripe is for noble ideals. A theory states that a few islands of the Philippines are made by volcanoes, and some were stuck to Asia when all the continents were one. There is a volcano, Taal, currently inactive, that's covered by a large and heavy kind of plastic. You can see it in Tagaytay, Philippines. You can also visit it.
