People claim that the Philippines was found in the 1500s, and many different websites claim that they know who the founder is. It's actually a mystery to me.
The Philippine flag's white triangle holds an eight rayed sun, which represents the dawning of new era of self determination, and three stars in gold. The flag was made in 1897 after the Spanish-American war and the US promise of independence. To complete the symbolism of the flag, the red stripe represents courage and bravery and the blue stripe is for noble ideals. This flag is unique in that in peacetime, the blue stripe is uppermost but during wartime, the red stripe is on top.
A theory states that a few islands of the Philippines are made by volcanoes, and some were stuck to Asia when all the continents were one. There is a volcano, Taal, currently inactive, that's covered by a large and heavy kind of plastic. You can see it in Tagaytay, Philippines. You can also visit it.
