divineseraph TrinityofLove So get out of bed, step off your rooftop... Yeah, that does sound like a bit like purgatory. And I agree that the belief in that tries to limit the blood of Jesus. If everyone could just spend some time somewhere for their sins then we wouldnt need Jesus because eventually everyone would make it to heaven.. children of God or not. and just look around, hear the sound of God. I think this would be a good thing. I could understand how some people would think that this is a good thing, but, like others have said, that's kinda limiting the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood has saved us from our sin and as long as we believe He has died for us, we go to heaven and are not punished for our sins.
But this idea doesn't even really work if you stop to think about it. The Bible says that the only way to heaven is through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and think of all the people who don't believe in Jesus. If they don't believe, they can't get into heaven, hence making "a temporary stay" in purgatory a thing that doesn't really make sense. You can't get into heaven if you don't believe in Jesus.

Well if we follow Dante's little story, those who do not believe suffer crippled hope in the first circle of Hell. No purgatory for them.
