Nuka was being lazy---as always, resting in the shade of a tree. His dark fur was so warm thanks to the sun; today just wasn’t a good day for sunbathing, he felt like he was going to melt. His eyes narrowed as he rolled himself up and yawned in defeat, he knew he couldn’t just sleep all day now, not with this heat. So, with little thought Nuka pushed himself up and starched out, his claws extending slightly as he did this; his white mane ruffling against his chest as he stood tall and frowned.

What would he do now? There wasn’t much TO do...-- Ugh. Nuka frowned, looking around with a rather dull look upon his maw. He was always irritated and pissed off. Today was going to be a pointless, hot, and lame day. He hated days like this, so very much.

Swearing to himself he forced him into a walk and headed for the near by water-hole; he needed a drink... he needed to distract himself from his own irritation.

Nuka was easily irritated, and now that his mane had come in fully, he felt even hotter than before, swell—his eyes rolled as he moved closer to the water-hole, sighing deeply. Things needed to change for him and they needed to change soon.

Lakeisha would have -loved- the opportunity to just lay out in the shade and not do anything all day, even if just for one time in her life. It wasn't an opportunity that came very often, and then when it did, she never had the time for it. Between travelling, hunting, and, in general, making sure she stayed alive, the white lioness really didn't have the spare time or will to allow herself some laziness.

At least not outside of sleeping.

Having been walking outside in the heat all day, her white coat had done her -no- good, simply delaying the amount of time it would take her to die of heatstroke before she found a place to stop and get a drink before resuming her daily travel. Maybe dip her poor burning paws into the water too alleviate the burning that cursed the lifestyle of a wandering rogue.

Almost as if fate were being -kindly- to her pathetic lifestyle, the sight of trees, a semblance of life in the middle of sand, brought her spirits up. Trees -always- flocked to water, or so her mother had taught her. This was all she needed to know that she wasn't going to die of heatstroke TODAY.

She was a ghost in the desert, heading slowly, not rushing, towards the same source of water that game all lifeforms a way to live for at least another day. Lake allowed her paws to sink into the sand as she walked, slowly finding her way to the water-hole and settling herself down by it, not taking advantage of the shade for her poor paws before she leaned down to lap from it.

As soon as Nuka’s paws paused against the cool waters of the watering-hole his eyes narrowed and within seconds he was frowning, again. Before his eyes, just on the other side of the water-hole… there was a female he had never seen before. This wouldn’t have been that big of a deal to most others, but, for Nuka, it was a hugggge no-no. How could he not know her?

Nuka was a ladies man! (In his mind…) And HAD to know all the females of the pride, and this lovely little thing wasn’t even looking at him. Mmm. This was displeasing. Twisting his maw he sat himself down and gazed at her for a long time, as if waiting to see if she would notice…

But she didn’t. God—what was wrong with her? Was she blind? Could she not see the stud that gazed at her from across the way? She must have been blind, that had to be it. Mother always told Nuka about how good he looked. Why wasn’t this female looking at him then?

He finally stood up and called out to her, in a rather ‘what the hell?’ tone;

“Heyyy~”

He gave her a rather rude look.

“Do I know you?”

Yes, she knew he was there, but she was ignoring him for the most part. Lakeisha took her sweet time, sitting up and dipping her paws into the water in an almost delicate way, then shaking it off, then the other. She didn't even bother looking up at him for the most part. Not even a glance until he called out to her in his annoyed voice.

Her pink eyes slowly looked forward toward him first, her head not even tilting with them for a moment, then she slowly looked up at him, as though she'd only realized he were there. Not in shock, but more of an 'Oh. Huh.' expression, before she slowly settled down into the burning sand, crossing her front paws casually to stare at him blankly for a moment.

It was probably only his expression that goaded her to answer him, a slight frown forming on her face.

"I hardly think I'd know you." she said firmly, not in an insulting voice, but a 'matter of fact' voice, her eyebrows lifting ever so slightly, before she replied in a 'no nonsense' tone that said there was no underlying implications or desire to her inquiry, "Why, do you want to know me?"
