[GAME] Hide and Seek... Again! - Open!

[Excited Apathy]

Traveling to the opposite side of the area, Valli found nothing but brush in that patch of jungle. Her pace and stance were unhurried, however. She had a feeling the leopardess would be found eventually...the time simply had not come yet. Unfortunately, that feeling was quite vague--she had no idea where the finding would be, or who would accomplish it.

He moved from one corner of the field to another, shaking his head. Why on earth was he still trying this game? It was clear that he had no ability whatsoever with trying to pick an area that the leopardess would have seeded...so there seemed to be no point in continuing.

And yet here he was. Continuing onwards.

Chun Chun Boom

Jong decided that this time he would try to find something smack dab in the middle of all of this. So he made his way over in a slow fashion, pushing aside leaves and sticking his head under things. Just as he thought he had made another wrong decision, something shiny caught his eye. Nearly leaping in joy, he rushed over to it and discovered a silver token! He grinned to himself and picked it up in his mouth. Being a gecko really did have benefits, probably because he could be so close to the ground. He looked about for the head leopard to pass the token to.

((I don't think I was all awake for this one - I actually missed this particular one being rolled. Sorry about that!))

Rather belatedly, Sayuri realized that the gecko had also found a silver token. Lucky little reptile! A grin lit up her face as she placed a paw over it. "Talented... VERY talented! Maybe a god will turn you into a leopard, we could use one as intelligent as you!" She relaxed back, then looked over, watching Valli. Ah, the young priestess.. She had hope for that one. It could embolden the colony if she was the one who found and caught that sneaky leopardess.

One ear perked as Valli heard Sayuri call out to...a gecko? Curious, that. Well, it was not as if a gecko could be terribly harmful, and it seemed helpful so far. Padding along to where grass met jungle, she nosed aside a broad leaf to reveal something that shone silver. It wasn't the elusive hiding leopardess, but it was a clue!

Excited Apathy

One ear perked as Valli heard Sayuri call out to...a gecko? Curious, that. Well, it was not as if a gecko could be terribly harmful, and it seemed helpful so far. Padding along to where grass met jungle, she nosed aside a broad leaf to reveal something that shone silver. It wasn't the elusive hiding leopardess, but it was a clue!

The faith was well-placed! Sayuri grinned at the striped leopardess. "Congratulations, Valli, you found one!" She shifted, motioning to the growing pile of tokens that had been found already. "You're already doing a great job! Everybody is! Keep up the good work, and soon enough we'll have this trickster caught!" Hopefully not TOO fast, though - The pink leopardess was rather amused by the whole thing.

Well, it seemed that others were definitely having some luck finding things. Farraginis felt like he was trudging a path deep into the dirt and grass as he gradually became more and more disheartened. It was wonderful that others were lucking out, but every token they found was one less chance he had! Not that he was finding anything anyway, but still!

Desya was rather stunned that a gold token had fallen from the branch he'd jumped from. Handling it carefully, he looked upwards in wonder. Perhaps he hadn't been so wrong after all. He surrendered the treasure and climbed back up into the trees. Yes, it was a bit more work than just padding across the ground, but at least it would keep him awake! He'd been rewarded by his treetop pacing, so he'd keep at it. After all, the leopardess they were all looking for also had the ability to climb. Why wouldn't she have hidden tokens (or herself!) higher up than the ground?

Picking up the silver token, Valli trotted to the small pile to drop it off with a smile and a nod for Sayuri. The next spot she chose to search was a rather open area, scarce in hiding places--and sure enough, there was nothing to be found there. With a small shrug, she kept moving, and kept searching.

The well-muscled leopard rogue leapt from tree to tree, stopping to examine the nooks and crannies where branches met trunk, or nosing thick clumps of leaves. The breeze was easier to feel up here, and it suited him just fine to be looking in different areas than the others were. The falling token proved that they really could be anywhere! Soon enough he'd find something, even if it only proved to be lunch!

Valli meandered back to the border between jungle and grass, tail swishing against grass-tops as she moved. There wasn't much to be found in this patch of jungle and grass, but she appeared as unbothered as ever. All in time, all in time.  

[Talencia]

Desya was tiring again. He wasn't a young cub anymore, after all! Ah, how cubs would love a game like this! They'd be swarming madly across the greenery. He peered about himself with curiosity. Were there so few young ones in this colony, then? It seemed strange to the grown male that there were no little ones who wished to join in the fun. A colony that did not grow with the birth of new generations was a colony that would die out. Surely something could be done about that. He'd hate to see this lovely place become deserted, or worse yet, become the domain of something less friendly to cat-kind.

He chose a smaller tree, with only a handful of strong branches, and perched himself there to rest. He leaned to look down at the roots, and swatted at the leaves to shake loose anything that might hide there. Meanwhile, he kept an eye out for that tricky leopardess who was playing hide and seek with them, like a cub herself.

Valli moved deeper into the jungle, pausing every so often to nudge aside a leaf here, or peer under a fallen log there. Eventually she caught sight of something that might have been a bit of wood...then again, it might not. The dark green leopardess pawed at the bit of brown under the leaf curiously. Was it something she was looking for?

Farraginis continued meandering around, looking under this rock, over this stone, on that branch and within that patch of grass. Every spot he peered was completely empty, even of insects, as they had long since picked up the fact that this whole game area was just a bad place to be today.

Valli moved out of the jungle a bit, searching the border of the grass once more. This leopardess was quite clever, it seemed...the priestess couldn't help but wonder if the game would end simply because the trickster got bored. It would count as 'finding' her in a technical sense, she mused. While she was somewhat distracted by her thoughts, she was aware enough to see that there was nothing in this particular spot.

Farraginis was crossing the board yet again. And he was getting seriously bored as he continued doing this fruitless search. Really, he didn't even know what it was he was looking for by this point! A leopardess, yes, but he didn't know what else he was looking for.

Sigh. He might as well give up now.
