Name: Akuma, "Aku" to few.
Meaning and/or Significance of Name:
Japanese, meaning Devil or Demon.
Temper: Rapacious
Personality:
Akuma is an insatiable being comprised of his fathers unrelentingness and his mothers patience and wit. He was born into darkness, he lives and breathes it, and understands full well how, to be truly dark, one must be all consuming, able to chase down and swallow up the light. He is known to quietly assess a situation for as long as he needs to before he goes in for the kill, he really loathes to rush things. Theres a whole world out there, and it's on a plate, Akuma is unique in the fact that he is, for lack of a better word a "foodie" when it comes to hunting, using the techniques his parents use to make it into a kind of art. Since he had to fend for himself from the start, eating has always been a necessity. Moreso, he believes that life essence, or the soul is the thing one can torment the most, the strongest can be broken once their soul is dampened, all the better to eat that way. He fancies that if he eats their essence along with their flesh and blood he will grow stronger and gain longevity. The larger the prey, the more life essence there is to harvest. He is in a way, darkly spiritual, a beast who seeks elation through blood and the consuming of life.
Taking after his father, he is larger than his brothers and enjoys hunting with the moon at his back. Being less inclined to slink about in his other form, he will show himself to his prey quite openly, using the initial shock of his large and rather exotic form to herd his prey exactly where he wants them, the ominous howl and sharp fangs being a beautifully frightening motivator. When he has worn down his prey he will use his monstrous strength and fangs to crush bones and tear muscle so they will not escape. His patience for torture is only so so, his appetite however is insatiable. He will eat them alive, unconscious or no. Akuma is very tidy, he does not like mess, whether it be dirt on his pelt or the way he eats his food. He could care less about stuff for pure vanity's sake, but a clean living is a clean eating, so after each kill he meticulously grooms himself until his coat is a perfect white again. When he's not sampling the world, Akuma seeks to make himself stronger, prowling his domain and collecting the picked over skulls of his victims, cleaning them up and displaying them, his culinary triumphs, in his home. Imagining that if he had left even a small piece of their tormented souls, they would always be hiding in the eye sockets of their own bones. Fearing his ravenous existence for all time.
Though he appears only interested in his next meal, Akuma's mind is sharp and he has been listening carefully since he came out of his basket. He has no particular feelings for his crafty mother or his eerie father, and while he may not be a fox, he's certainly not as single minded as he appears. He could care less about what his foxy brothers do, he keeps his goals in life firmly in place, his bloodthirsty family nothing but a distraction and competition for food. He keeps his wits about him, hearing strange rumors, dark mutterings and feeling a dark tension looming about Kumiho. He is not fool enough to ask questions, not now, but he will find out for himself what is going on...
Plot Ideas:
Deliciously Devious
A lot of what Akuma revolves around is the consuming of life, so he would often be found on the hunt for his next meal. But he's got some challenges along the way, since some things just wont lay down on his plate!
Brotherly Love (or not)
I imagine Akuma would have some quarrels with his brother Maleperduis, believing what he does to be beautiful and clean, his brother collecting masses of rotting things would put a bad taste in his mouth!
Essence-ial Meal
He finds a worthy prey, something that makes him revel in the hunt and the beauty of the meal before him. A soquili most likely, He so rarely gets to speak to his prey, but it is likely he would here.
Pack Lines
While he's not overly territorial, Akuma enjoys HIS space, and is irked by the fact that there isn't as much of it. This would perhaps come with questions about the territories of his mothers enemies.
Full Course Fate
He would encounter a purewalker female who is competing for the same meal he is, would this lead to something beneficial? Or just a steak scuffle?
Signature Killing Style: Akuma does not mess around when it comes to his food, he will tire them out, hobble them, and use all of his strength to extinguish them
