Camilla had just reached back to grab a bottle of water! That's all she'd done! But somehow, in that small period of inattentiveness, Mayaa had let go of Camilla's wrist and dashed off into the maze! And the Dormouse ghoul realizes this just a second too late! "Yeah! We'l- Mayaa? Oh dear..." she says cheerfully at first until she realized her friend had sped off again... She looked around the area hoping shhe was wrong, but after a minute or so she simply frowns...

Sigh... Oh well... After shaking her head a bit, Camilla looks towards the maze determinedly and hikes her bag higher on her shoulders before entering.

Because she'd gone through this maze so many times by now, Camilla pretty much knew exactly how to get to the exit! A stray shifting wall did get in her way once which causes her to take a bit longer, but eventually she sees the end! "Yay! That was pretty easy this time! heh!" she cheers happily! Upon stepping out of the maze, her smile fades a bit as the Dormouse ghoul looks around for her friend, hoping she hadn't just run off again... "Mayaa? Mayaa!" she calls hopefully.

Np and ok! Now onto round 3!

gaia_crown [ Round 3: You reach a clearing, and you are finally on the bottommost floor of The Ancient Necropolis. The air is hotter still, here, and there is an odd mist clouding your view except for a few scant feet in front of you. The walls are lined with a number of sarcophagi, and a large pool of water lays somewhere in here. Even the slightest of wrong moves will wake the malevolent undead, so be wary.
- All players must roll 1d10.
- If any player rolls a 4 this is instant death/dissipation/Fear shields are ZERO and you need to use pendant to retreat back home.
- Otherwise match your rolls to the results:
1: Instant death. (Just for you, return to Round 1). A sarcophagus abruptly opens and a bandaged, rotted hand strikes out and drags you into the musky darkness of the ancient mummy's resting place, slowly sapping your life force until you dissipate/pendant out.
2: Nothing happens. You hear the scuttling of scarabs in the distance, and something touches the back of your neck. When you look, nothing is there.
3: - 50% of your remaining HP. A mummy shambles out from its casket, its eyes glowing violet-- it mutters an ancient incantation from a civilization long dead, draining you of health before it turns into dust, blowing away even though there is no wind.
4: Start over! A swarm of flesh-eating scarabs have followed you through the labyrinth, and descend upon your entire party without mercy. Some are as large as a medium sized dog, their carapaces the colour of blood. They run you back to the BEGINNING of Round 3!
5: Nothing happens. A horrible stench comes from the direction you're going: of something dead and rotting and it's fresh. If you're an undead, you are unaffected, and just sort of think it smells like summer.
6: Extra roll penalty. The tile of crumbling stone you're standing on sinks down, triggering a soft click. A noxious gas floods your lungs, pungent and mould coloured. You are paralysed, and must roll a total of FOUR times before you can escape.
7: - 50% of your remaining HP. All light is suddenly diminished, even that of glowing bodies/weapons. A groaning rises up from beneath you, rattling in the chest of whatever is making that sound. You book it, but you're too slow: the mummy has caught you, latching onto your head and shoulder area, sapping your life force.
8: Nothing happens. Literally nothing: it's a relief. Better hurry on.
9: -50% of your remaining HP. You continue through the clearing to find a large pool of black water with a single path cutting through it. No matter if you try to wade through the water or take the path, a rotted naga rises from the water, fangs bared in a snarl. It lunges for you, sinking its fangs into your flesh. Lucky for you, their poison ran out a long, long time ago, and you manage to get away.
10: Teleported back to Round 1. All you hear is a whisper of a curse in your mind before you are whisked back to the beginning of The Ancient Necropolis, a warning lingering in your mind to leave. Now.

- All players need to roll 3 times to make it to the next round EACH.
- That is, unless you roll a 6, then you have to roll a total of FOUR times.
- If you die and come back to Round 3, it does not carry over.
- If you roll multiple 6s, the number never goes higher than four.
- Rolling a 4 means you need to start your count over.

"Camillaaaaaaaaaaaaaa??"
No response.
Hmm, maybe it wouldn't hurt for her to explore a bit while she caught up.
It wasn't much of an exploration though.
First flesh-eating bugs chased her, and even after outrunning them, she couldn't shake the idea that they were CRAWLING on her oh jeez.

And then she was ambushed and DIED.
What a way to go.

Rikku Takanashi
Welp, there goes Mayaa.
Hopefully Camilla has better luck!

After calling a few more times, Camilla soon realizes that Maya wasn't here... It turns out that, stray wall delay had caused her to just miss the Harpy ghoul...

Frowning, the Dormouse ghoul sighs and hikes her bag higher. Maya must have gone in already... Camilla had rope with her... she was starting to consider maybe tying them together with it... Though... that likely would end in disaster... Finally, she shakes her head a bit before heading in.

The trip down the corridor was... surprisingly uneventful... And so, when she reaches the first fork, she was suspicious... Deciding to take a path she hadn't tried yet, Camilla takes the second path. A feeling of unease was setting on her... Things were going too well... Soon, her tail was swaying a bit nervously as she continues on. Suddenly, the distant telltale sound of scarab skittering could be heard! Freezing, the Dormouse ghoul looks slowly behind her... And there was nothing... She frowns in confusion for a moment, before suddenly something touches her neck! "Eep!" she yelps before brushing quickly at her neck! However, when she didn't see anything skitter away she relaxes. "P-phew..." she sighs. She was quite wound up it seemed... As brave as she was... this particular part of the adventure made her a bit nervous...

However, all was not well...

Suddenly, she realizes that the skittering was getting loud and loud and oh dear! Turning slowly back to face the depths, Camilla soon see's a hoard of hungry scarabs coming her way! "Eek!" she yelps before quickly turning on her heel and dashing back to the maze!

It was only once she'd troted a few steps inside the maze, did the scarabs leave her be while chittering angrily at her escape... Doubling over to catch her breath, she watches the scarabs slowly skitter back into the depths... Finally, once she was sure they were all gone, she reenters the corridors...

The journey back to the fork was uneventful, and after taking the eighth corridor, she found the journey to the next fork uneventful too... Something felt odd here...

Something was weird... very weird... things were going too easy... Yeah the scarab chase hadn't been easy... but things were going too uneventfully... While normally optimistic, Camilla was no fool either... This much calm in such a dangerous place couldn't be good... Like a calm before a storm...

The fifth path yielded no more excitement then the last had. However, the fresh pungent scent of rotting meat had Camilla wishing she'd not eaten earlier... It also worried her about what was to come... Fortunately, once she got to the next fork and out of the corridor, the smell stopped.

It had felt like she'd been walking quite a while, surely she must be pretty deep in now! Deciding her path carefully, she decides to take the first fork because she'd not gone that way yet. Soon however, she started to regret it... beautiful tall sarcophagus line the corridor... each one was evenly spaced and stood along the wall... almost like guards... Frowning, Camilla's tail begins to wag nervously...

Something was wrong... Why were all these sarcophagus here? Why weren't they in some burial chamber... And why was it so quiet... She didn't like this... not one bit... As she moves down the corridor she stayed on high alert... something was terribly wrong here and she needed to be prepared... Unfortunately... despite her preparedness... she wasn't prepared for what happen next...

Creeeeeaaaaaakkkk! Uuuuughhhhh!

She heard it before she felt it or saw it! The sarcophagus she had just walked in line with, suddenly bursts open! "Eek!" she yelps! But it was too late... With lightning speed, two rotting bandaged hands grab her clothes and drag her into the sarcophagus! One arm wraps around her arms and chest, while another covered her mouth tightly, before the sarcophagus slams shut and casts them into darkness! "Mmm mmm mmm!" she mumbles quickly as she struggles desperately to get away! Every hair stood on end as the stench of rot fills her nose! Suddenly, she feels it! Her energy was being drained! And not just half of it like last time! No this thing intended to drain her completely! "Mmm mmmmm mmmmmmm!" she yell mumbles urgently but the creature takes no heed.

She continues to struggle and struggle, but it was for naught... The creature was too strong, and soon, she had no energy left to struggle... "Mmmm... Mmm... Mm......" she mumbles one last desperate time, before the last of her energy is drained and her eyes slowly close as she falls unconscious...

The first thing to stir her to consciousness was the familiar bite of october wind. The second was the Fear she felt all around her. "Mmm... Mm... Ugh... W-where... am I...?" she mumbles slowly as she cracks her eyes open. Upon opening her eyes, the Dormouse ghoul finds that she was laying on her belly in a pile of crunchy dried leaves just outside the portal... It didn't take her long to realize where she was after that. "H-how did I get out here...?" she says slowly in perplextion as she lifts her front up a bit and puts a hand to her head.

It took her a moment to remember the mummy attack, but once she does she shivers a bit... and not from the cold... It must have... Dissipated her? But... why'd she end up here if that were true? Finally, she decided thinking on it too much wouldn't do any good. She needed to rest a bit before going back in this time... And so, after slowly getting to her feet, she walks over to a nearby tree and plops down before leaning against it. This adventure was really quite a adventure indeed... Maybe... she could just grab a little... nap... Soon, the Dormouse ghoul was fast asleep. She had woken early that day and had been through a lot already! Maya surely was ok! It couldn't hurt to just nap a bit right?

gaia_crown [ Setting and Rules: ]

The Ancient Necropolis is buried beneath beneath the sands of the Sahara, lost for over a millennia. This is where the Dungeon Master comes to play. The Dungeon Master will create a new thread. Now, they will roll stats for this expedition team:
- Roll 2 20-sided dice for each player. List the players ie: 1. Player 1, 2: player 2, etc. Just roll all the dice at once. This is the number of rounds they can take for each player. Also include your own character. Post this stat at the very first post ie: Player 1 has 5 stamina, player 2 has 10 etc.
- Now players can begin to RP. They start at the base of the mountain and must move upwards. Each ACTION they take is 1 stamina point. Once they have used up all allotted stamina points they can go no further/ have to leave the area.
- If their HP turns to 0 they cannot go any further and must portal/pendant out/dissipate.
- If a character runs out of stamina or HP, they must try again from Round 1!

gaia_crown [ Round 1: ]

- This round takes place just inside the entrance of the dungeon, an ancient tomb that feels a bit...humid inside. It's dark, except for a few torches lining the walls of its narrow corriders, lit with ominous fire that glows more red than orange.
- All players must roll a 6 sided dice. If any player rolls a 2, you have triggered a boss! The DM will be in charge of RPing and keeping track of the boss's HP. The boss has 50/ 50 HP and does 5 auto damage every time it is attacked. You can attack it unlimited times within discretion. Attacks go as normal.
-The boss is a swarm of scarabs, a trap left by the Egyptians of old in an attempt to protect their sacred Gods. No one can go any further until the boss is defeated.
-IF NO ONE rolls a 2, or you have defeated the boss, you may proceed to round 2. If two players roll a 2, you now have two swarms of scarabs... congratulations.
- This initial roll does not cost stamina!
- Note that the trigger is 2 instead of 1 and 6 like other quests!

If Mayaa had not been so stubborn, she would have rationed that perhaps this adventure was a little too dangerous for the both of them, and they should quit while they're ahead. Or at least, stop before they broke some record for "most dissipation on a single journey".

Unfortunately, she was quite determined to make it back with SOMETHING... and with Camilla too of course.
Speaking of which...
She looked around.
Where WAS Camilla?

It was roughly an hour later when Camilla finally woke up. Yawning, she slowly unburies herself from the leaf pile that had formed on top of her and stretches. "Mmmmmm! That was a good nap!" she chirps drowsily to herself before rubbimg her eye a bit as she looks at the portal.

However, her sleepy expression turns into a surprised one as she sees a familiar feathered friend! "Oh! Mayaa!" she exclaims excitedly! She was so glad to see the Harpy ghoul was ok! Happily, she gets up and moves over to the portal; however, just as she gets there a swarm of scarabs billows up! "Eep! Scarabs!" she squeaks before, as a matter of habit, grabbing her friend's arm and jerks her out of the portal!

Sighing with relief once the Harpy ghoul was safe, Camilla releases her friend's arm before watching the disgusted scarabs skitter away... Artifact quests weren't easy... But, it was sure making for a good adventure!
