Urza couldn't help the smile that was creeping its way across her lips. Everyone was hard at work, but they all looked so content. Urza brandished her lance and struck the tree agian, tearing off more of its soft flesh. Urza had a goal in mind now. She had motivation. Urza raised her shield in front of her as if she was in a real fight. Urza would strike down all that stood in the way of her and her allies. Like lightning splitting a tree in twain. Urza may have had limited mobility in her armor, but she was strong enough to withstand any blow that was delt to her... Or at least so far.

Urza's eyes waived as she went for another attack. What if, when the time came, Urza was simply a twig in the path of a stampeding rhino. Urza raised her shield a bit more, her confidence in herself dropping a bit. Physically she was strong now. But was that all there was to being a ninja? Urza's lance glanced off the tree, the thrust half hearted. Urza had always relied on her strength to get her threw. But she needed more to become a truly useful ally. She just didn't know what "more" she was looking for yet.

She looked at the page again. The words seemed to be readable to her. The words began to form sentences, and the sentences formed paragraphs. Everything was beginning to take it's shape and she was able to grasp the principle of the chapters. Maybe her luck was changing. Maybe she just needed the motivation to move her forward, to show her that she could still protect the people of the village, without having to resort to strength. Knowledge is power after all. She flipped the page and continue reading until she was finished with the chapter. She looked at the title, not even realizing what she had grabbed.

Faults of the Heart... great... just what I needed... a book on romance. Note to self, read the title before grabbing a book. What could she possibly learn from a romance novel? She sighed as she flipped the page and kept reading. She was wondering why everything seemed so flowery and mush- What?! she stood up not saying a word, her eyes almost bulging from her sockets, What the hell are you thinking!? Why the-? No! You weren't suppose to kill her! It seemed the main character had killed his lover after learning that she had been unfaithful to him. "Why the hell would you do that?!" she blurted her thoughts out loud, still intrigued with the book.

.Urza peeked a glance at what Miyako was reading, unable to control herself after the girls blurt. "I never figured you for the romance type," Urza chuckled narrowing her eyes in a sly way, "How... Cute..." Urza stifled a laugh at her own joke. That was her "more". Her team. She didn't have to be able to do everything. She just had to be able to cover everyone else weak points. After all Urza knew from experience just how good of a tactician Miyako was. Sure Urza may have lacked that flair for battle theory that her friend possessed, but she made up for it in war strength. Urza, filled with a new vigor, thrusted her lance at the tree, blowing off another good chunk. However, her last attack made it a bit unstable.

Urza heard the trunk snap like thunder, as the tree began to fall. Quickly she rushed forwards bashing the trunk with her shield. This applied just enough force to send the tree tumbling in the opposite direction. Urza jumped back as the tree fell to the ground with a crash. Falling backwards she let out a sigh. It seemed that her strength had increased to an almost satisfactory level. She would need to work on her constitution next... Or perhaps she could join her friend in a bit of light reading. "So Miyako... do you like your books to jump right into the action? Or do you like a bit of a tease.... in them?" Urza slyly looked at her friend, accentuating the word "tease" a bit.

Miyako had forgot that someone else was near to hear her. She immediately turned red and couldn't bring herself to read another word. She closed the book, not without placing a finger in the page, and put the book behind her back. "I-it was-Ther- I had no idea that it w-was this book!" It was slightly embarrassing to be found reading such a book, especially her. She liked books that dissected things, explaining how things worked, why they worked that way, or how to make it. She wanted to continue reading, but she couldn't bring herself to read it.

It was no surprise when Urza knocked down a tree. "Y-you should probably plant another t-tree or seven... T-to prevent deforestation." Maybe that would be enough to distract her. She turned around and whipped open the book. The man went on with life, as if it was no big deal that he had just killed her. Soon he fell in love with another woman. You just killed your last love and you're with someone already!? I mean, come on! Ura had made a comment to her about how she liked her books. She turned around and tried to boldly face her friend, "A t-tease is always a l-little nice. D-drawing out the tension is always a-uh..." What the word? "an attention grabber." She held out her hands and connected her chakra to her puppet. The puppet suddenly came alive and stood next to her. "How's this for a little... 'tease'?"

Kugutsu no Jutsu (Puppet Technique)
Just like a marionette, the user controls a puppet using strings of chakra from his fingers. Another useful quality of this skill is the fact that the puppet can take the form of another person, object, or, more commonly, the form of the user. Puppets are fitted with various hidden devices, most commonly extending blades, various projectile launchers, and poison, both in gaseous form and liquid coating their weapons. See the "Puppetry" thread for more info. This technique can also be adapted to control humans as if they were puppets, or another puppeteer's puppets.

Urza was taken by supprise when the wooden body sprang to life next to Miyako. So that is what a puppet is? Urza smiled at her friends flustered speech, she honestly didn't think it would have that large of an effect on her. Either way it was somewhat endearing. "This should be interesting." Urza smiled, picturing the fight she would soon have against the wooden body. She was curious what sort of power it held, most likely something tricky. She would have to be careful not to damage it to bad, after all, it was a creation of Miyako's, Urza couldn't bring herself to destroy something like that.

Watching the fire for a moment, makoto could finally sigh in relaxation as he picked up the axe. This time he was going to see what the stump had to offer, as a challenge anyway. Swinging at it for a moment, makoto smiled as he could tell that he was already starting to remove chunks from it, nothing good enough to make items from. Tossing the pieces away into the fire, makoto turned his focus back on the stump and started chopping away at it again. Producing more pieces of the stump in front of him, makoto threw them into the fire.

Sighing to himself while he was thinking about a better way of chopping the stump, makoto started to think about what he wanted to do. He was going to be a while with this stump but his thoughts were also turned to the other training stuff he wanted to do, maybe reading a healthy informational book for example. That could improve his health and even help him understand more about fruits and vegetables, even if he didn’t like them he had to get use to them sooner or later.

Placing the axe down and sitting down on the stump for a moment, makoto yawned to himself before he started to look around. It was odd that he was not getting hungry after thinking about healthy food, but he knew what he wanted to do. He was going stay like this and relax for the moment, letting the moon move over him as he watched the fire. He was off in his own little world and was thinking about a few new courses he could take.

Standing up and stretching out with a smile on his face, makoto started to lift the axe up and examined it carefully. Nodding to himself, makoto started chopping away the stump he was sitting on, thinking about how long oak could last and how powerful it was. Pulling the axe out of the stump, makoto raised the axe back up and swung it down, slamming it against the trees stump. Feeling the force of the axe hitting the stump, he should have felt it sooner.

Makoto smiled as he raised the axe up and swung it down at the stump as hard as he could, breaking away a good piece of wood that could be used as a practice weapon if anyone needed a tanto. Makoto threw it aside with the profitable woods, knowing that he could practice with a wooden tanto if it ever interested him in the future. Yanking out the axes blade from the stump, makoto started to breath slightly heavily as he raised his axe up and slammed it down on the stump. It produced another small profitable piece.

Sighing with relief and whipping away the sweat on his face, makoto smiled as he plopped down on the stump to get a feel of the cool spring wind at night. The wind felt good in his hair as he sighed again in rest and relaxation, but he knew he had to start thinking about something he needed to do sooner or later. His research into healthier meals and his training into weapon making was something he was going to put into practice into the future. But for now he would relax, thinking about life and the stump he was sitting on.

Makoto was thinking about the profits he was fore seeing in his future, the tree was big enough to make a good 100 bokkens… but even that seemed wrong. From the branches that he had chopped away, he could easily tale that there was going to be more than just 100. Possibly 125 to 150 was his counting coming up as, but was he really going to get that rich? He knew people would buy them from him at the prices he was offering to the public and the travelers, but was it going to be enough? Regardless life was going fast for him, and someone suddenly popped into mind in the process.

Makoto sighed as Airi came into his mind, instantly it made his turn pale and flushed. It was so… weird how that entire thing fell onto his lap, but he made the decision and he was going to marry her but he was going to hold it back for a while. He wanted to gain his own profits to support her before anything else, that is if she didn’t jump on him like she did when they were at the academy. But makoto started laughing, even a kid, he was grown up to be a man like he always wanted to be… but he never imagined on having a wife this early in life, no one would actually.

Rising back up from the stump, makoto smiled as he quickly turned and raised the axe up into the air, swinging it back down to produce a good chunk of wood… yet not good enough to meet any standards he had to offer. makoto tossed the bit into the fire as he raised the axe up on high again, slamming it down onto the stump to create a load cracking noise as the axe had split the side of the stump completely off to make two tantos or kunais. This was most definite a profitable piece of wood as he settled it to the side with the rest of the chopped wood that was being collected, he was on the roll for more money in his life.

Sighing and looking over his shoulder for a moment to see what was going on around him, makoto watched as one why was practicing jutsus. There were two ladies having a reunion and a fight about something, the sensei seemed to be centering his mind and last but not least was him. He was busy chopping wood to make money and to get a profit out of all of this, he was even running into rusted kunais that were around the trees roots. Makoto placed the axe down and collected them with a smile, placing them into his pouch that he had emptied out from beforehand. He wanted to make sure all of his profits were safe and well protected, they were.

Makoto raised his axe up again and took up a different placement; it was not about the wood anymore. it was totally about the rusty metal resources he had just collected from the trees base, he raised his axe and launched it down at the stump as he knocked a rusty kunai out as he acquired a bit of more wood. The wood was perfect enough for a tanto or another kunai, so he was going to do what he did best and set them both side. It was after he set it aside that he realized that he had changed his mind but his goals were the same… the wood was profit.

After he had finished collecting the rusted kunai’s safely into his bag, makoto started thinking about what he could do with the rest of the stump. It was already half was done as is, it would be best to burn it but there profit was still coming from it… so he was going to be slow but powerful with his strikes to the trees stump. He needed to collect the fallen and rusted away kunais, also he needed to find out what he was working with. Because the stump was giving him very promising pieces of wood, enough to make a few other wooden weapons on the side,

Placing the axe down on the ground, makoto smiled slightly as he looked around the stump that he had chopped away at. He wanted to give it a good new chop, but he was savoring his energy and his energy so he could do it properly. He would practice with the axe and the chopping motion, but he knew that if he saved his energy and did it slow and powerful as he had hoped to do… he would save enough energy to continue the task even after he was done chopping up the stump to oblivion. But he had something on his mind that he wanted to do, he wanted to prepare for the end.

Makoto prepared himself as he felt the axes handle for a moment, he was thinking about what he wanted to do after this training. But he had an idea that he was really going to like, maybe he could finally start on the tree itself when the stump was already done with it’s usefulness. Makoto smiled as he practiced swinging with it for a moment, saving the time and energy he needed to chop the stump down. But makoto was determined to do this thing all the way to the end, and he was not going to stay back any longer… he was ready.

Holding the axe head high above himself, makoto slammed the axe head down on the stump as hard as he could. Wiggling it out of the stump before he raised it up on high again, makoto stared at the stump before he started to chop away the stump. He started picking away as the pieces as he was throwing the small pieces away as he left the bigger and useful pieces to the side. There were a lot of useful pieces not then there was none useful pieces, so the fire was small but it was still shining brightly. He was happy as he started to continue picking away at it, he was going to finish this right.

Makoto started to wipe sweat off his face and his head as he looked back at the stump, he saw that there were several pieces that were usable and a few damaged rusty kunais he could collect and smith later for resources. The physical toll that it was taking on him was harder then he thought it was, but he had to keep going for his own sake… there was a lot of profit to be made and he was trying to get stronger and stronger. He was thinking that he needed to take a good long break before he continued with the chopping and he was right, he needed the rest now more then ever.

Makoto sighed as he took a sit on the tree and started thinking, throwing the pieces that were not profitable into the fire as pieces of fire wood. He was near the end and he was going to have to get rid of all the small and annoying pieces, but he would also find usable pieces as well and placed them away as he was working. He had maxed himself out for the day and he was in a need for rest and relaxation, recovering as he finished placing the rest of the smaller pieces of wood into the fire. The warmth and the kindness of the heat were inviting.

Finally at the end of the stump removal mission he was set up against, makoto smiled as he pulled out the axe yet again and started swinging and breaking the wood as hard as he could. This time it splinted the stump completely in half, making both parts very good and usable. He would place the axe down and started to try and cut the rest of the roots out of the stump, this process would take a bit longer but he was finally ending it with a bang. Placing both pieces aside on the pile that he was going to craft, makoto looked them over and removed the rusty kunais out of the remains… it was time he relaxed.
