One thing I would like to point out is that each new regeneration that the doctor makes he becomes younger. So if any new doctors are made he or she would be younger looking then Matt Smith believe it or not.

I'm not the only one that has noticed this, o.o!

I think the future 12 doctor should last as long as tom baker, because the doctor is burning threw the regenerations quickly.

Yes the doctors of the the new series are getting gradually younger but that doesn't mean that the next one will also be younger. The producers of the show were originally looking for some as old if not older than Tennant. When Matt Smith auditioned for the role he was at a disadvantage because they wanted someone older. They decided on Matt because his interpretation of the Doctor was better. While the next doctor might possibly be younger, I doubt that it will happen.

yeah Matt smith is pretty amazing as the doctor. you think that they might get younger? or older again?

My bet is older seeing as they originally didn't want someone matt's age for the role. They can't go much younger though otherwise the wisdom with age aspect of the doctor will diminish. The only way they would get a younger actor is if the actor can be the Doctor better than anyone else that auditions. The problem with that is despite his age, Matt's incarnation of the doctor manages to have a youthful spirit with the wisdom the years has given him. A younger actor would have to portray that perfectly to even be considered as the doctor. Also I don't think they'd go younger because with the twelfth incarnation will come a new personality, not the same one repeated.

Well, lets look at the last three names.

David Tennant > David Tent

Matt Smith > Mat Smith

... Soooo, the 12th Doctor MUST be someone with a name like "Daniel Pillowe"

I think the 12th doctor should be older because it doesn't seem right if he gets younger each time. I between 37 and 46 would be about right...
