But that's how all laws are passed. People don't like to have their things taken so that's why it's against the law to steal. All laws are based on poeple morals and likes.

No, it isn't. If it were, brussel sprouts and gay midget porn would be outlawed. But they aren't.

Laws are designed to protect people. Not to force them to live how you want to live.

ryokomayuka
I know that it would be hard to be pregnant give birth and then give it up. At least the infant is alive and has a chance at life. I never said it was fun.

So then why do you want to force people to do that?

What about the when became illegal to sell beer that was because of poeple didn't like beer but also because the poeple who wanted to protect people.

And to make abortion more protect would protect some women, like if they are being forced to have an abortion. The law should make exception for if their live is in danger and for health.

And now it's legal again, because that was a stupid law.

But, of course, it's absurd to say there is only one reason why any law is passed. As much as we try to form a cohesive philosophy of government, the framework we have in place is more a practical one than a philosophical one. Some laws are passed simply because people like the idea of the law. But they generally aren't good laws, and we shouldn't be supporting that sort of thinking.

The government has no business forcing the likes and dislikes of others on us - that path leads to tyranny.

That is a completely nonsensical sentence.

sweatdrop Sorry somethings I type so fast and click sumbit without checking. What I meant was To make abortion illegal might protect some women, like if they are being fored to have an abortion.

You right about laws having more than one reason for being passed.

I don't know all the reasons for why abortion should be made illegal and I didn't know all of the reason why I'm prolife that was the reason I could thought of. But I personally would rather have there better less of a need then make it illegal.

That's a stupid thing to say. If people getting forced to have abortions is a problem (which it isn't) then we should make forcing people to have an abortion illegal.

ryokomayuka
the reason why I'm prolife that was the reason I could thought of.

But it's a terrible reason!

You don't have a good reason to be pro-life. Why would you support such a terrible law?

I'm not saying that forcing people to have abortions are a big problem. I was just giving an example.

Maybe a better reason be because I think that the unborn baby is alive and deserves a chance at life. I've always been pro-life. As for the law, I would rather have less of a need then having it being illegal, because no matter what law you make poeple can always find a way around it.

I see both sides of this arguement. we are a free country, and we are allowed choices, so I can see the side of pro-choice.
Personally however, I'm pro-life. They have a heartbeat. They need energy from food. They grow, they physically develop, mentally develop. I'm living proof of that. My mom would watch the Sound of Music over and over when I was in the womb. After I was born, she'd put that on whenver I was upset, and I'd quiet down immediately. Plus, if you record a vacuum and play it for a newborn, they'll go to sleep because it sounds like the womb. They recognize their parents, their siblings (if any) and objects. Babies remember things. Plus I firmly believe they have a soul. They're not dead. the heartbeat proves that. so if they're living, they must have a soul, and that means God breathed into them. Plus if God didn't want the woman to get pregnant, she wouldn't have gotten pregnant. If she doesn't want the baby, put it up for adoption. There are women out there who can't get pregnant, and all they want is a child. If somebody is willing to take a child, while kill it, even if it is in a womb and not completely amoung the rest of the world.

It's an example that has no bearing on reality. It's an example that has nothing to do with the problem at hand.

It's a stupid example.

But aren't all sorts of things alive? Aren't insects alive? And bacteria? And spleens and tonsils? And sperm and eggs? And don't we kill all those things all the time without worrying about it? Is being "alive" really such an important factor?

ryokomayuka

That's IRRELEVANT. So long as there is a demand for abortions, we have the choice whether to keep them legal or not. If we make them illegal, we are forcing thousands of people to suffer. If we keep them legal, we are allowing thousands of fetuses to be killed. THAT is our choice.

WHAT.

There are lots of living things in the universe. Plants, insects, birds, mammals. Even smaller things. Bacteria. Cells. And we kill them all the time. Do they all have souls? Should we stop killing everything with a heartbeat?

Are you seriously saying that God is a contraceptive?

There are women out there who can't get pregnant, and all they want is a child. .

And there are plenty of children out there who don't have parents, and all they want is a mother.

Yes being alive is an very important factor. I know that inscets are alive so is bacteris and spleens and tonsils. People don't kill spleens. Tonsils are removed not killed and they are removed less now then they used to be. Sperm and eggs dies on thier own. We don't kill all bacteria. Some we need. Some could kill us or make us sick.

I want the demand to be less more so than I want it to be illegal.

By prolife, do you mean that you don't like the concept of abortion and you wouldn't choose it for yourself, or that you believe abortion should be illegal?

So do pigs. And when they're all done growing and developing, we shoot them. And grind them up. And put them on the dinner table.

And that proves..... What, exactly?

Quote:

BABIES remember things. Equating babies to fetuses is a strawman fallacy.

Bible says you're wrong. No soul until birth, and the actual first breath. Does a vegetable (human variety) have a soul? It has a heartbeat!

God is not in control of the world. "The evil one" is.

Quote:

What most women don't want, actually, is the pregnancy. I mean, labour hurts. Morning sickness isn't fun either. And who REALLY wants varicose veins or stretch marks, if they don't want kids?

Quote:
There are women out there who can't get pregnant, and all they want is a child.

Actually, all they want is a white, blonde-haired blue-eyed female (SOMETIMES male) with no physical or mental defects. Everyone else can rot in an orphanage.

Quote:
If somebody is willing to take a child, while kill it, even if it is in a womb and not completely amoung the rest of the world.

Because it's not wanted, has no soul, and will only trouble the world with another mouth living in an orphanage?

The problem is that these things, like a fetus, are alive, but you want it to be illegal to kill a fetus and not these.

If "being alive" is a reason to protect the fetus, why not the fly?

ryokomayuka
I want the demand to be less more so than I want it to be illegal.

I have already addressed why that is irrelevant.

Because the fly is not human. I don't kill flies but I don't usually killed them I want them outside. I don't like to kill things like ants or bugs. I never said I wanted those things to kill those things.

Now you're saying it needs to be alive and human. Are there any other criteria that need to be met before something has a right to live, in your opinion?

Is the unborn baby not a human?

A far as the fly it has a right to live but not many people get up and arms when one is killed. Anything that is alive has the right to live.

Edit: I have a question. Why are you debating me about my views?

Did I ever say that?

In fact, have I ever commented on the "humanity" of anything yet?

Wait.

Flies are alive. According to you, they have the right to live. Does that mean you would support legislation making it illegal to kill flies?

And what does "not many people get up [in] arms when one is killed" have to do with anything?

ryokomayuka
Edit: I have a question. Why are you debating me about my views?

Because your views hurt people. That's a really good reason to debate someone's viewpoint.
