It wasn't really that hard to catch up to him since he kept on stopping to catch his breath, and it was probably on the third lapse of this that Shu finally got up. He decided to just give up, and sit against the loose grass near the sand. "Are we there yet?"

Shu had her mouth opened when her phone buzzed incessantly. "Give me a minute." The Death Assistant was talented in upsetting the petite hunter, she was irritated by his demeanour of treating Carl like a trouble. He was a trainee who urgently needed their help!
Text from Shu CAN YOU COLLECT YOUR THOUGHTS AND SEND IN ONE MESSAGE? He's NOT DEAD! He looked alright, just wanted to find his weapon back. He had a strange map with him, and had suspicious places marked on it. I'm asking you Carl's identity since it felt unsafe knowing nothing. What's a boner killer anyway?
Maybe her text exceed character limit, there was a second one Mark'd received.
Text from Shu I have no idea what you're thinking. It was YOU who said hunters couldn't leave their weapons too far. Thus, before things getting worse, we've to find his weapon back. Do you know how dangerous to walk around without a weapon? And he's a trainee! If you're not helping, I'm. Heading to the cove at the moment, we'll come back safely.
She sounded like angry passer-by scolding a kid's irresponsible parents in her message. "Sorry for the wait, let me see -" She looked around and made a conclusion that they were getting near. "Soon, I think. Do you need to take a rest? Eat or drink something maybe?"

"No, it's fine," he said, looking quite worn out from the whole escapade, "Let's just go and get this over with." He sat up, and suddenly looked grim. "If I lost my weapon, do you think I can still get another one?"
Carl took Shu's lead this time, just trailing behind her. "Who were you typing to on the phone, is everything okay?" A pause. "Is it Mark, because I'm not going back to do his stupid paperwork."
Speaking of Mark, it seemed he also needed quite a long moment to just not answer those texts at all. It seemed like the rest of the walk would just be quite uneventful until Shu's phone finally buzzed.
Text from Mark It's when you text me all the time seriously can you just text Rep instead he's on Carl babysitting duty

Shu had learned from her brother than when they said it's fine, let them be. Besides, Carl's eagerness somehow reflected how unnerving was losing his weapon. "Um, our weapon is like our partner, the relationship is intimate. I would expect it's hard to simply get another one."
She nodded honestly to his guess, "I asked him for assistance since we're both from Death division and he's the Death Division Assistant who knows better than me regarding runic stuff and technology. I realized it's a mistake and just wanted to end the stupid conversation but he sent me several messages."
".....He made you to do his work?" The petite Asian frowned with disapproval and pretty irritated by the Death Assistant's deeds. When her wrath slowly quenched and almost vanished during the pleasant walk with Carl, her phone buzzed again.
With Mark's text message exploded everything, Shu's suppressed temper had finally burst out. It was a sad thing that there wasn't a table for her to flip, she felt like an itty-bitty angry hamster as she typed one last text to Mark.
Text from Shu I bet you've finding different people to handle Carl. He's not your son, you can't make him do what you supposed to do and kick him around like a ball. Have you ever consider his feeling? Anyway, Rep seems to be a much more reliable person and I'm going to ask him for help.
She took a deep breathe so her emotion won't carry along to the text she was going to send Rep.
Text from Shu Hello Rep, Uncle Mark pushed me to you. Anyway, he said you're taking care of Carl & I'm currently with him. He wants to get back his weapon so we're heading to the cove. Tbh I have no idea why he could lose his weapon when it hurts to leave your weapon from a distance. Please advise.
Baneful Mark passed the problem to Rep, I'm sorry~

To Shu Oh thank ********, I was worried about him, well done.
To Shu Keep him safe though please.
To Shu He's a magnet for trouble
To Shu I'll come to the cove as soon as I can, I'm on the other side of the island right now. It doesn't hurt too much to leave it, it's bearable. His situation is special.

It was difficult to understand why someone didn't want to be special. In the past, she did her best, desperately hoped to be her parent's special to no avail. It ended up so badly. It felt bad seeing Carl crying, her brother seldom cry actually and the only way she knew how to comfort people was hugging.
<Kids.>
"Where do you want to go then? Being special isn't a bad thing, it means you will survive better. If you don't want to be with me, I can bring you back to where Rep is?" Crying sometimes was a good thing, when it washes away all the dark emotions and thoughts that stuck in your heart. It was hurtful to watch the boy being so helpless and she seemed incapable to do anything.
It might be better to stay with Rep, he could be calm and safe. Though she enjoyed the time walking around with him, but if that's a better solution, she couldn't be that selfish.

"I'm not crying," he said, breaking away from hug contact and rubbing his eyes one more time. He took a deep breath to resolve himself and tried to look angry, though it just looked more rebellious than anything else. "Yeah, I'm ready to go back."
"Well," said a petite woman also standing on the beach next to them, long blonde curls buffeted gently by the wind. She was not wearing any type of Hunter coat, but just a rather fancy blue one, readjusting her scarf slightly. "Or you two could come with me." She smiled, showing all her perfectly white teeth. "I'll know a great place that serves the best afternoon tea."

Give this to Mark was a weird request, not that she believed the Death Assistant would never get laid, but the woman in front of her seemed to be of a very high quality. She deserved much better, thus it was suspicious. She made a step forward and took the box, whatever inside smelled a bit too nice. "Sure, I can. See you next time, Madam."
"We've to go now, goodbye Madam." Shu gave her a nod, and with the short time tried to remember her facial feature and turned away with Carl. "This way, Carl."
Talking to stranger was risky, especially when she had someone special to escort. Yet, the deep rooted teaching of her family had made her remained a polite manner to everyone. Which was a frustrated thing she couldn't fight back.
