"Taste certainly is most important," Best smiled encouragingly. "After all, we only had raw eggs till recently, so they're good all ways - it just depends on what you're looking for. Come by when you'd like during the market, but when it's all done, we'll still have eggs and food over at our store, down by the salt marshes." A quick nab of the dried, preserved meat and fruit samples, and he dropped them on her banana leaf. "Our tribe started with that humble, salted piece of meat - packed with flavour and long-lasting. Now here we are, cooking eggs!" His head turned to regard the hot slab appraisingly.

The salamander slowly looked up and rolled over, unimpressed, but remained in its little hotspot.

"Time for another shot!" Mystery says as she walks up to the hot rock and banana leaf. "Today, I'm going to nail it!" This time her crack isn't quite up to par with her first crack, but was still pretty close! She cheers herself on and lets the egg deliciously fry against the rock, and carefully gobbles it all up into her mouth again at once, salivating as the yolk pops on her tongue. "So good," she mumbles. "I'll keep trying. Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll get it absolutely perfectly, and I can beat Starglow at her own game," she jokes.

After his luck, or dis-luck with fishing, Qualbeak stopped here at the Rise and Shine Tribe's booth. He figured he would at least get an egg. He picked up the egg, and cracked it almost as good. He stared in awe. What a nice egg he made!

He slurped up the delicious egg and kept walking.

Now Shroud was staggering across the market ground with a token and a bouquet...but he was starting to revive to himself as he recognised that the scent he had blindly followed was, in fact, delicious. He was still a little groggy as he followed the buck's instructions...but against all odds he achieved a pretty perfect split.

"This is marvelous!" he exclaimed when he finally got to consume his spoils. He was feeling much better already!

Sunspot returned.

There was a little less confidence in her approach but she still looked determined. She was extra careful this time. The leaf was ready and she very, very slowly picked up the egg and cracked it against the rock.

Over to the hot rock and she dropped the egg.

It splattered and fizzled.

Sunspot finally let out the breath she had been holding.

There was shell in her egg and some white was mangled.

But the yolk was okay. The yolk was okay.

Engulfed in Flames was late to the party..... obviously. Egg cracking? Um..ok. Well she had good luck flicking icicles, maybe she'd be good at cracking eggs? Couldn't hurt to try. And low and behold she was..... just ok. She had bits of shell in her eggs and some of the whites dribbled messily but her yolks were still in tack. Good enough for her!

"You just watch me," said Wild Green Stones, grinning at the egg people. Chickens? Could he eat those, too? Actually, he was pretty sure he wanted this shell as it was - but there it went. Onto the stone. What a mess, he thought, and then - oh, wait! He was supposed to get those bits of shell off.

They were really delicate. Maybe it was better to stick to rocks. But he'd certainly eat this egg while it was being presented to him.

Streams of Silver paused, looking the eggs over, before indicating that she'd try this. She'd had eggs before– fancied herself pretty good at getting at the yolk and glaire without having to eat shell.

Apparently, though, popping a hole in the egg was a whole different deal than trying to split it. The yolk broke as it came spilling out, some of it staying in her mouth while some shards dripped down with the mixed mess there.

Oh, well. She'd have to try again later.

Kept had tried to say hello - really, he had! It was just having a bit of um. Trouble. Getting up his throat. Instead what came out was a squeak. It looked like - ah - but he did want - could these be preserved? Could he take that hot stone instead of the egg? Could he just take this egg with him?

He had a lot of questions, evidently. But as usual he was left to ponder the answers himself. While the kin behind him in line huffed loudly.

Ah - ah - there it went - there - how did the insides turn so white? It was a little...disturbing. He wanted it. (Who cared that there was shell in it? Shell was pretty.) And the leaf...

...i-it wasn't like they were going to force him to eat it, right? It was pretty. And his now.  

[Blinded By My Silence]

Land Shark watched for a moment or two as this red-haired buck focused very tightly on his egg cracking. He seemed to take it very seriously. Land, however, took nothing seriously. And so, when she assumed the buck was finished instructing, she snatched up an egg and flipped it onto the leaf with a slick of her tail. Surprisingly, her egg didn't suck! With the spines on her tail, she carefully flicked out some of the left over shell before inhaling the mostly-cooked egg. "Yum!" She bleated as she scooped up her two tokens and left.

Free approached this booth shortly after the treasure flipping one, and smiled a little to herself. Egg-cracking? It couldn't be -that- hard... right?

As... as it turned out, yes... yes it was. She apparently bit into the egg too hard, because, as she picked it up, it simply... popped... into her mouth. Raw egg definitely wasn't her favorite meal, and she gagged a bit, trying to spit it out, and then licked the rock. Apparently, she forgot that it was hot, because she flailed, got rocks into her now-cooking egg, and burnt her tongue. She looked about ready to cry, but... hey... at least she got a token out of it... right?

"Yaaaaay Sunspot!" Pull Through cheered encouragingly, tossing preserved fruit bits at her. She tried so hard that it was nice to see her succeed.

On the other hand, the fur-adorned doe's attempt was really depressing. He solemnly gave her a pull of preserved meat too, along with the token.
