[PRP] One Last Shot in the Dark (Azure and Dyas)

Her smile broadened when he spoke, only to instantly vanish at his touch. She quite literally jumped and spun around with her eyes wide, staring at him. Did...did he just...Her face was a bright crimson. With their walk halted, the female simply stared at him as she tried to register what had just happened to her. Obviously she didn't imagine it, because the male was quite flustered. Slapping him didn't come to mind as her mind turned completely blank. The most...physical...they had ever become was the day they made out in their secret hiding place, and even then he hadn't touched her bottom. Maybe she was over thinking things. Slowly it sank in, and she took a step forward to press her body against his. Her heartbeat thrummed in her ears as she wrapped her arms around him and moved onto her tip toes. With a shuddering breath, she moved the last inch to press her lips against his.

When Dyas turned around to stare at him, Azure looked at anything but Dyas. Wow, that was a beautiful tree, with its bark... look at that bark, so brown and bark-y and... brown... is that a bug? The embarrassed male was quite surprised when Dyas body was suddenly pressed against his. It was all too much for him to handles as his mind turned to a fog similar to the times when he had had too much to drink. Thankfully his body didn't need his mind to know what to do as he wrapped his arms around her and returned the passionate kiss. Azure liked this silence better then the awkward silence they had encountered earlier in the day.

All the romance books in the universe couldn't accurately describe the feeling she got from that loving kiss. Her body was burning and freezing simultaneously, her heart seemed to quiver in her chest, and the very fabric of time felt to have halted. Seasons without any physical contact...when he returned her affection, she pressed her body even more firmly against his. A hand slid up his spine then neck to become tangled within his hair. Eons seemed to have passed by the time she pulled back, just a hair so their lips still grazed each other. Her eyes flicked open as she took a shuddering inhale. That had been awfully bold of her.

As they parted, but with their faces still close, Azure took the time to bring his mind back to conscience with quiet and shallow breaths. "Wow Dyas," was all Azure could manage to say, still trying to catch his breath. It had been a long time since he had experienced anything like that and he was savoring every moment of it. His hands moved to her face, caressing her cheeks. He wanted to fall to his knees and declare his love to her and ask her to marry him right then and there, but Azure exercised restraint, he didn't have the ability to say so many words at the moment anyways. After a time of silence Azure finally said with a grin, "Lets get some fruit for you... for us... and head back home."

Dyas? That was her name, wasn't it. In the torrent of emotions, she seemed to have forgotten all words. She blushed deeply, resting her head within his hands as she looked up at him. It was amazing to have such strong feelings when they had been away for so long. They hadn't died at all...simply were hidden beneath layers of dust. Biting her lower lip, Dyas smiled back and nodded before turning back towards their original direction. Home. He said home. She turned an even darker shade, the thought of sharing her home making butterflies in her stomach. The mangos weren't too far away now, and they would be back in no time to snuggle in her bed... Her heart beat harshly and she quickly cleared her thoughts. Now wasn't the time for daydreaming.

Thankful that he wasn't the only one who had temporarily lost control, Azure chuckled softly at Dyas. His hand caught Dyas' hand as she turned in the direction they had been walking before, he felt the need to be touching her at all times as if she might fade into mist if he wasn't. Azure still had no idea where this fruit was so he let Dyas lead the way. He wasn't necessarily in a hurry to get back to the cave now though, it was nice just strolling through the forest with her.

When he caught her hand, she laced their fingers. Her blush had been so bright, the residue still glowed on her face even as she calmed down. She felt like a teenager again with all of her giddy feelings. The sun seemed brighter, the grass greener, and the air fresher with the addition of Azure in her life. For the first time in a very long time, she was happy. Every so often she'd give a little squeeze to his hand to make sure he was still real and not a dream. If it was, she hoped to not wake up for the reality of it would crush her. Dual colored eyes flicked up to focus on a tree heavy with delicious mangos. Further back to the right, one could see the apple tree peeking out from the brush. And around here was a berry bush Raken had planted some time ago.

Azure spotted the mangoes shortly after Dyas had, as he moved closer to it he also saw the apple tree. He didn't want to let go of Dyas, but it was kind of hard to reach up to pick the good fruit while holding another's hand. Blue eyes glanced over his shoulder at Dyas and he gave her a reassuring look, "Just for a moment, so I can pick the fruit and carry it." Azure pulled his hand back, and once both hands were free, started picking a few mangoes using his wings to give him a boost. He placed the fruit in the crook of his arm and then went to the apple tree and added those to his small pile.

When he flashed her the reassuring look, she instantly knew what was about to happen. She offered a soft smile in return, and reluctantly let go. The female fluttered her own wings to slowly circle up the tree, a hand gently grazing its bark by her fingertips. She met Azure up at the top when he was picking the fruit, offering a touch of a playful smile and poked his nose, mouthing 'Tag'. She pushed off the tree like a spring to where the apples hung. Wings catching her to move into a glide, she beat them to move up into the apple branches. Slipping out of her earlier depression with Azure near, she felt her playful spirit peek through.

Azure wiggled his nose at her touch and gave her a lopsided look, "Tag?!" He exclaimed with a shake of his head. His arms were a little bit occupied with the fruit he had collected. Azure felt like he was clearly at a disadvantage. Azure whipped open his wings and nudged Dyas gently with one of them. "Tag, you're it!" He exclaimed as he cocked his eyebrows at her and dashed off, arms full of fruit and all.

Dyas grinned broadly when he gently nudged her with a wing, instantly giving chase. It felt really good to be out flying, the breeze rushing by her. Adding force to her wing strokes, she increased her speed to try and catch up to her blue love. Two adults acting like children? She couldn't think of a better way to spend her afternoon.

It wasn't long before one of the fruit slipped from Azure's arms. He frowned at it as it hit the ground and rolled along, but he couldn't stare at it for long, he had to get away from Dyas. Not that Azure really wanted to get away from her. Tag was probably the worst game for them to play at this point where he couldn't stand to be apart from her. His flight took a direction back towards the cave, if Dyas was going to chase him anywhere, she was going to chase him right back into bed. He grinned at his cleverness.

She watched as the fruit fall, quickly considering only to disregard catching it. It would slow her down, and she could lose sight of the male. They covered the ground quickly as the fruit trees were only a short distance from the caves, revealing exactly what Azure's plan was. Her grin softened to a warm smile. He wanted to get back home with her, just as much as she wanted to snuggle with him. The female purposely slowed down a touch so he would remain in front, allowing him to 'lead' her to the cave approaching.

Azure normally wouldn't have looked back, but he did want to make sure Dyas was still following so every once in awhile he would look over his shoulder to check on her. Still following, good. Into the cave he ran, right, left, left, left, right, left, right, right. Oh dear, he was lost. This wasn't the kitchen or the bedroom. Azure glance back looking for Dyas to help guide him, so much for grand romantic gestures. It was difficult not knowing your surrounding.

She followed him curiously when she noticed him fly right by the kitchen, and then her bedroom. Where was he going? Flying through the cave was very easy for her, as this was her home. But she didn't know how the male knew their destination, when she herself hardly traversed the area. By the time he finally stopped with his puzzled look, they had found themselves in one of the large chambers deep in the cave. Thousands of glow worms lit the expansive area, including the great stalactites that hung high above their heads. It had been a plan of hers to make this room a place to throw family reunions and other gatherings, if Raken would ever allow it. The female fluttered up to the male before tapping his shoulder. Tag. She turned to start the long way back to the kitchen.
