[ORP:FIN] The Great Water Balloon War [closed]

The lobbed throw came shy, and merely exploded a few feet away. He was...testing to see if she'd advance. Yes that was it! ...clearly.

He coughed into his paw and gathered up another balloon, cheeks a bit red. "'ah menta do tha'." the wolf hybrid proclaimed, waving a white paw dismissively at his misfortune.

Not that he was the only one obviously. It only added to the fun.

"Time for a new target then," elf remarked, grabbing a balloon and looking over the edge to decide on whom she wanted to hit.

Seth, while tempted to throw another at his mother, decided to leave her alone for the time being and try for Dacj again. "Let's see if I don't pop this one again," he said with a laugh as he took aim for the kraken.

Didn't come very close to her, but at least she got a little bit of splash.

Dacj ducked out of the way as Seth did, grinning and waving at the culprit. "Hi, Seth's mom~" she said, winking at the woman as she went to grab a balloon and get back into the fray. Haevan seemed to be doing a pretty good job of keeping Missy occupied...

"Of course you did," Melisande said with a chuckle, winking at Haevan. "Just as moi meant to do this!" she added, lobbing yet another balloon at him. Why change targets when this one was so much fun to try and hit?

Of course, when one spoke like that, one was tempting the gods, clearly--that was Missy's thought as her manicured nails punctured the balloon prematurely and she splashed herself quite thoroughly. "Best two out of three?" she suggested with a raised eyebrow.

"Nope, but you still missed," Dacj teased with a smile, wiggling the splashed limb as if to taunt Seth.

Perhaps she would try her own luck at hitting Mena. The kitty was awfully dry after all...

Success! A balloon finally hit it's mark on the feline. "Looks like your forcefield battery died, Mena," she said with a grin.

"I said there wasn't one!" Mena shouted back up at the roof, wringing out drenched hair with a grin. "It's not my fault everyone else up there sucks at hitting a target."

The wolf covered his mouth to supress the onsets of another laughter fit. Tail waging side to side, his ears flicked foreword. "Aye.. 'ah think ye meybe onta somethin' Missy." He teased with a wry smile. Eying Seth, he chose to instead take aim at the Cheetah.

Looking back at her he nodded with a grin. "Aye, 3rd times 'ah charm?" He offered gathering more ammo for the occasion, naturally keeping an eye on the lobbed balloon to see if it hit it's mark.

Come on~ Let Seth be distracted enough to score the hit. The wolf had actually taken the time to aim, hoping to catch his friend off guard.

She laughed. "True enough. Why don't you join us up here? Show the whippersnappers how it's done!"

"Hey, missing is still better than drenching myself," the cheetah Hyte said with a chuckle. Deciding to help Missy out a bit, he aimed another balloon straight for Haevan. "Catch!"

Although really, it'd be easier to 'catch' if his aim wasn't suddenly so terrible for some reason. Also, it might have helped if he had noticed the oncoming balloon, before throwing his own and attempted to dodge. "Ack!" Ok, the wolf was definitely going to be his target again for a while now.

"Oh, I dunno about all that~ Maybe later on!" Mena called back.

"Third time's the charm," Missy agreed, determined to not hit herself this time. She could hope, right? The balloon hit the air, heading Haevan's way.

Dacj pondered the balloon pile with a mischievous smile. Should she break out her ultimate strategy already? Was it too early?

[quick note on dodging crit hits: they are a step above "direct hit" so account for that on any dodge rolls. Or let it hit for the lulz ;3 ]

Laughing, he skittered to higher ground. Climbing onto the roof top door, he crouched down eying the lot of them. The wolf's head tilted to one side. "'ah get the feelin' I'm in trouble." He tipped his hat back and itched at his drenched hair.

"Ack" his hat took the splash his head would have. Shaking the poor thing out he plopped it back on his head and poked his tongue out.

(( I might have to vanish for a bit, are we keeping this open longer then today? I'll stay for a couple rolls but yeah lol ))

Very nice shot there by Missy. Perhaps he could hope for the same. Careful of his claws as he picked up and held the water balloon, the cheetah Hyte double checked to make sure nothing was coming his way before aiming at Havean yet again.

Still wasn't as close as he'd like it to be, but it was an improvement from before.

Melisande grinned at her success, raising her arms in the air and doing a little cha-cha victory dance. "You know, the rest of it was worth that shot~" she said with a dreamy sigh.

Haevan blinked as he moved to twist out of the way. Crude he should have brought shorts...his jeans were turning into a nightmare to move around in. Sliding skillfully off the roof top he landed on his feet. "Oi. 'ah will be back." he nodded thoughtfully. "Runnin' around in wet jean es makin' me feel like 'ah million tons" he winked at all his fellow hytes and gathered up his tank top saulting as he fleed, before more incoming balloons followed him.

Before he ducked out he leaned around the door, and to Missy called. "'ah told ye." he teased. To Seth he waved. "Ye would do well ta not be weighed down either." He added with a grim nod. At last he bid Dacj farewell, having been glad to meet her. The wolf would return...have no fear. Namely when the party goers least expected it.

"You'd better get back here soon!" he said with a grin, watching the other go. He had a point about being weighed down though. The jeans it was too late to do anything about (that had been poor planning on his part honestly), but he could at least take off his water-logged shirt to remove some weight. Even if it didn't improve his aim any, he might at least be able to dodge better.

As Haevan was gone for the time being, Seth decided to turn on the kraken Hyte again. He had yet to really hit her since she had gotten him in the back of the head.

But alas, it seemed that luck was no longer with him. Why was it so difficult to get in a direct hit all of the sudden?

Melisande blew a kiss after the wolf with a chuckle, and Dacj waved goodbye before ducking back to the pile, splashing balloon following her. She made a "fufufufufu" laugh as she grabbed a balloon in each human hand, and one in each club. She eyed Seth, Missy and elf with a wide smile, and chucked simultaneously at all of them--and dropped the last down at her mother.

However, she was distracted even in her quick glance to confirm her target's positions, and though two of the four managed to hit quite nicely, and the balloon intended for Seth's mother flew wide of the mark...and the one intended for Seth popped open in her hand as she blinked at the water-droplets beading on a certain cheetah's bare chest. "Oops," she said, barely cognizant of what had just happened.
