I finally got the new army book 3 days ago. I am still learning fantasy. But am an avid 40K player. I had 2 of the 6th ed starter sets and a battle for skull pass set to work with. A friend gave me all the other odds n ends. So this is the list I have formed from all that.

Orcs & Night GobZ

LORD

Orc great shaman 315
level 4
skull wand
best boss 'at
Waagh!! paint
'itty ring

HEROES

Orc Big Boss 114
lt armor
shield
Mortogs best basha
Amulet of protectyness

Night gob shaman 135
Lev 2
Staff of sneaky stealin

Night gob shaman 135
Lev 2
1 Mad cap shrooms
Staff of badum

CORE

30 Orc Boyz 180
full command

26 Big 'Unz 341
Additional choppa
Full command
Banner of butchery

20 arrers 150
full command

20 arrers 120

10 spider riders 160
full command

20 night gobz 150
full command
spears
2 fanatics

21 night gobz 154
full command
spears
2 fanatics

20 night gobz 130
full command
bows
2 fanatics

20 night gobz 105
full command
bows
1 fanatic

SPECIAL

Boar chariot 80

Boar chariot 80

Boar chariot 80

RARE

1 Troll 60
River type

Total 2489 91 footsloggers 3 chariots

I figure one of my shamans can stay with the troll. Put a chariot between my units to prevent attacks due to animosity. I know arrers are not that great; same goes for night gob archers. I have to many to let them lie in a box. So I figured who knows the stand and shoot might be handy also they can kill fanatics when they spin back at me. I figure use the night gobz as my forward line. Then as they flee my Orcs can push through them for the second wave. With the chariots coming in with them. It should be devestating.

Thanks for any and all replies.

Bump the Night Goblin unit strengths up. Right now, you have 4 Goblin units that are fleeing on a roll of 5 or higher on a roll of two dice if they take just 5 wounds. Change the unit of spearmen to 1 unit of 41, and add the extra fanatic to the Bowman unit. The 20pts saved can be used to buy 6 more gobbos for either unit, or 4 more basic Orc Boyz.

Don't go with a single troll, unless you plan on hoping to kill a low-level hero with it. It already starts with a loss of 1 in combat res for being outnumbered, and odds are it will face a unit ranked up. Add in its leadership 4 and stupidity, you'd need a Hero to babysit a 60 point model that may infact do nothing. Either use it only for character hunting, or drop it for 12 more boyz/15 more spearmen/20 Bowmen.

Chariots should do well, but hope for no cannons. Also, keep one or two back with the Arrers to prevent Skirmishers from harassing your lines.

Sounds good. I am getting ready to buy new eldar. But afterwards I will get another box of trolls to beef up the unit. Tactical advice also much appreciated.

Just beware of Scouts, they are a pain in the fact that they can force your Fanatics out early, and they can usually dance around plain rank-and-file units.

Also, you may wanna drop the light armor and shield for the Amulet of Protectiness, as the Amulet will usually give you a better save, and you MUST take the Amulets save it gives, if I'm not mistaken. Upgrading it to Black Orc may also be good, simply for the additional WS (Ws7 on a Hero is always good).

This will be my tournament list and also the list I will hopefully use all the time. I believe it is very good but I would like the opinions of others on problems they see evolving in this list. Please... No comments saying that it is an eggs all in one basket kind of list... I already know and I know how to deal with the problem in each game I play. All comments will be respected. Thanx!

Holy son of a cracker that is going to be one scary army on the charge. If I played against you I would not know how to deal with it on the charge with my Tomb Kings army. But either way one day I would love to play an army that was entierly mounted.

OK folks, here's the deal.

I'm taking on an Orc player next week. We're doing the Battle In The Streets from the back of the General's Compendium. Go look it up -- it affects what I'm taking seriously.

I'm the attacker, so I get to burn the town down! Woohoo!

We're playing at 1800 points. Only 4 units can start on the table, the rest dribble in as the game progresses. No War Machines can start on the table.

Our GM has ruled that characters can start on the table as long as they start within units, and attachments to the four units also start on the table. He has also ruled that WFTs do not follow the standard rules for war machines and therefore may start on the table. We had a long discussion about this, because *I* wasn't sure they should be allowed to start on. We're going to try it this way for now and see how it goes.

Here's my force:

The Four-Unit Lead and Characters:

250 pts.: 1 x 25 Clanrats (Spear and Shield, full command)
+ attached Warpfire Thrower

256 pts.: 1 x 26 Clanrats (Spear and Shield, full command)
+ attached Warpfire Thrower (I had six points left over.)

225 pts.: 1 x 25 Clanrats (HW + Shield, full command)
+ attached Warpfire Thrower

285 pts. 1 x 20 Stormvermin (HW, Halberd, Heavy Armor, full command)
+ attached Warpfire Thrower
+ Banner of Burning Hatred (unit subject to Hatred)

149 pts.: Battle Standard Bearer (will go in one of the Clanrat units)
+ Heavy Armor
+ Sacred Standard of the Horned Rat (unit causes Fear)

135 pts.: Warlock Engineer (army general)
+ all the Warlock Engineer goodies except the pistol
+ 2x Dispel Scroll

160 pts.: Assassin (will be hidden in a Clanrat unit that does not have the Standard)
+ Smoke Bombs
+ Warpstone Armor (4+ save, every successful save inflicts S4 hit on the unit that caused the hit)

Supplemental Forces
Turn 1:
100 pts.: Warp Lightning Cannon

Turn 2:
150 pts.: Rat Ogres x3

Turn 3:
90 pts.: 5x Gutter Runners
+ Throwing Stars
+ Poison on everything

Total: 1800

OK your list looks OK but if you want to you can get rid of 2 warp fire thrower that will give you lots of point to give you one more regiment of clan rats, this will give them more numbers instead of Fancy guns because if you have to many of them you may start to lose the valuable rank bonuses for the skaven and what little skaven you have(compared to a full skaven army). with that said go out there and Bern stuff and good luck(sorry if i made any spelling mistakes)

scary casting pool, but horribly low number of wounds... even with the spikey chaos armors, not good... empire gun/handgun/hellblaster line will decimate it in 2-3 turns
