FRIDAY.
Night of the Howliday Ball.
"That must be Harry!" Draconia nearly jumped out of her chair in front of her bedroom mirror. She had just finished putting her last curl into place. Fortunately, being startled hadn't disturbed her look too much. She did one final check in the mirror.
Makeup - greens and muted dusky purple, looking good.
Hair, pinned to a side with voluminous curls and some black pearl hairclips for emphasis, all in place.
Dress, a purple velvet minidress purchased from the vintage store Fashion Bites at the Maul, with a new, snowflake-y bustle painstakingly sewn in by Draconia over the last week. The gold buttons on the front sparkled in the light.
Shoes, a pearlescent pair of high heels with a dragon scale texture and matching gold buttons trailing down the heel, absolutely fangTAStic!
Draconia smiled. She was indeed ready to head downstairs.
"Hello, Harry! You look fairy nice tonight." She greeted the fae as she opened the front door of the bookstore. There were very few ghostomers in the store fright now, but those who did definitely paused their browsing to catch a glance of the couple...and their odd chaperone. "Oh! Hello to you too!"
Draconia was a bit surprised as the Goblin thrust his head towards her, looking her up and down critically...evaluating whether everything that was taking place in front of him was proper for the son of the Erlking's first dance outside of the Never Never.
Finally, Gobbledygook gave an approving sigh, nodded and stood back.
"It shall do. Now! Off to the ball!"
"Shall we walk?" Draconia asked, looking at Harry...then at the goblin...then back at Harry. She wasn't quite sure who was coordinating this date now. "The Embassy isn't that far away."
"WALK?!" The goblin nearly jumped out of his highly-shined, pointed-toe boots. "The son of the Erlking and his Great Dragon consort shall not be expected to lower themselves to the INDIGNITY of arriving at such a high affair on common FOOT!"
"Er, but I thought walking would be more environmentally-" Draconia started to say something, but was cut off. Suddenly, a large, soft, squishy, spotted carriage rolled into view on the street in front of them. Six grinning goblins were pulling it.
"Your carriage, master and madam." Gobbledygook gave the two of them a sweeping bow as he held open a squishy, spotted door. Draconia looked at Harry in surprise.
"Is....is that carriage made...of mushrooms?!"
