The New Salem Maul

[Dashner Hawke]

Dashner took the map lightly, still staring at this creature.
"Who are you? I haven't seen you around before."
Dashner didn't want to harass the lad either, but he was curios.  

[Ronan Aalto]

He didn't much care for being stared at, jamming his hands into his pockets and averting his gaze. "Just moved here..." He managed, hesitating a moment before extending one webbed hand to shake. "My name is Ronan."  

[Dashner Hawke]

"I'm Dashner Hawke."
Dashner reached out his hand and shook the Selkie's.
"Welcome to New Salem!" He said.  

[Ronan Aalto]

"uh.. Thank you?" His hand slipped back into his pocket. "You.. go to Monster High then?" Well, may as well attempt to meet his classmates. He was still nervous about the news that he'd be boarding with two other monsters, the idea of living in close quarters to strangers made him a little uneasy but he'd always known this shift wasn't going to be an easy one.  

[Dashner Hawke]

"Yeah, bro. This is my first full year."
Dashner crossed his arms casually.
"So um... Who's your friend?"
He just realized that the ghoull with Ronan was remaining silent.  

[Ronan Aalto]

"hmm?" He'd pretty much forgotten the blob girl was still nearby, staring wistfully at art supplies. "I think we have lost her to new paint or something." He chuckled nervously. "First full year? What do you mean?" He stared at the other boy, perhaps a little too intently. Trying to figure out what manner of monster he might be.  

[Dashner Hawke]

"I started Monster High after the Howlidays, so I was only at Monster High for one Scaremester."
Dashner could pretty much tell what the Selkie was thinking...
"Before you ask..." Dashner stretched out his wings "I'm a hybrid."  

[Ronan Aalto]

"of.. what?" He tilted his head, chicken? "Can you fly?"  

[Dashner Hawke]

"Yes, I can fly. But not a chicken... A falcon."
Dashner pointed dwn at the talons ripping out of his shoes, and his sharp fingers.  

[Ronan Aalto]

"That seems... uncomfortable." He looked down at Dash's shoes, musing he must get through a lot of footwear with talons like that, and a lot of shirts with such claws. He gazed wistfully toward the game store. "You were lost, where were you trying to get to?  

[Dashner Hawke]

"I don't care, to be honest, bro. I'll go wherev-- Oooh game store~~~"
Dashner caught Ronan's glaze and got interested in the big posters inside.  

[Ronan Aalto]

"I was going to see if they had anything new that caught my eye. So.. you were just wandering aimlessly?" So bird brained as well as bird winged, good to know.  

[Dashner Hawke]

"We'll, I have nothing better to do..."
Dash had a feeling that he wasn't making such a good impression upon his new peer.  

[Ronan Aalto]

"Very well." Evidently the Selkie wasn't very good at small talk, he simply nodded and gestured he should follow. Once inside the store he took to browsing through the new releases quietly.  

[Dashner Hawke]

He walked into the store and his eyes widened. He had never seen this before, and he wanted to learn all about it. So he picked up a gaming book and started to read.
