[GAME] Hide and Seek... Again! - Open!

[Chun Chun Boom]

The little green gecko, known as Jong, scampered back into the search. He looked this way and that way, trying to figure out where he should look next. In the end, he simply went over to an area nearby so he wouldn't have to put too much effort into moving.

The sun felt good, what little filtered to the bottom through the trees. Jong looked thoroughly. There was nothing here to be found. That was too bad. He had felt a deep satisfaction at finding that token earlier. Now he really did want to find more. He had to admit that leopards had fun games.

Searching the dirty brown earth of the clearing hadn't helped much, so Farraginis had gone to the grassy undergrowth. Unfortunately, this area seemed just as empty as the last two. Well, it wasn't as if he was quite as...intent...as some of the other searchers.

Really, what was the point of this again? He knew the value of remaining hidden on a hunt, and the skill of being able to track that which was hiding...but this game seemed, well, kind of pointless.

She scurried under a bush as a paw passed by and caught her breath. Phew...it was hard being small and looking for coins. She wondered how large they'd be. Perhaps they were tiny, or maybe the size of her head! Who knew? She sniffed softly before climbing up into the bush she was hiding under, an excited gleam in her eyes. Maybe if they were small she'd have an advantage.

Jong stomped his little webbed feet in frustration. Not like stomping disturbed much other than a bit of dirt. Surely no one would have noticed. There was nothing here as well. To him, the jungle was much bigger than it would be to a leopard.

He had to rest for awhile on a leaf so that he could relax. Maybe he was going about it all wrong. Maybe he just needed to take his time instead of running from spot to spot. Perhaps trying to enjoy the game more would be better. Certainly talking to the leopards was not something on his to-do list though.

Large eyes looked around for anything shiny hiding in the small branches of the bush but...nothing. Hm...maybe she needed to think more like a leopard! She had been the one to hide them, after all, not a little bush baby. That in mind, she decided to check a bit higher. She climbed once more, returning to the trees. Perhaps there were some hidden in the knots...

Jong felt a little better after his rest. Now he was going to look at this game as a positive experience. Perhaps a way to learn more about the leopards that shared the area with him. He could also practice his hunting skills. That was actually a good idea.

So he moved slowly when in the open and quickly through foliage. Then he spotted it, a moth, just the right size too. He slowed down his movement. Getting in close enough, he snatched it up before it had the chance to escape. He munched on it cheerfully while looking for any more tokens.

Jong found nothing in the old spot he had searched so he moved on to a new one. He looked up to find himself alone. That was fine. Generally he was a solitary creature. He didn't like being around other geckos. That would lead to competition to food.

He pushed around some leaves, climbed up a tree to look around, and dangled on a hanging leaf. Every perspective led to no find. There were no tokens here and certainly no leopard.

The bush baby peeked into a hole in a tree, peering into the darkness that waited. She went inside to get a better look but...darn! No coins in sight. She shook her head and sat in the tree for a while, deciding to chill for a bit. Her little paws were getting tired from all the running around.

Jong smacked his lips together. He was thirsty after eating that moth. It had been on the less juicy side in terms of insects. So he went in search of water. It wasn't hard to find a big leaf that had pooled a bit of water in it's fold. He dipped his head in and then drank his fill.

He looked around for any tokens but found none. The leopard they were looking for was certainly good at hiding too.

Jong was starting at a much slower pace. He had a nice full belly right now. He opened his mouth in a big yawn. Hopefully they found something soon. Another token would be nice to find really. He climbed around some plants lying close to the ground. There was nothing to find here so he moved on.

Jong was just about to look for a place to rest his head when he discovered something. It was another token! A different colored one this time. This one was a copper color. Proud that he found something before he called it quits, he picked it up in his mouth. Then he brought it over to the head leopard or who he assumed was the head leopard. Placing it on the ground, he once again eyed the leopard before heading off to sleep.

Farraginis shook his head and trotted over towards the towering trees. Admittedly, he wasn't searching that hard, but the leopard was still somewhat disgruntled. He thought he'd have found something by now! But no, apparently not. The secretive leopardess was clearly quite skilled.

Why, the whole thing could be an elaborate prank, and she not even here, for all he knew!

After a while of sitting in the tree, the bush baby decided to move on. She hadn't seen much activity and decided to press on. Moving her way out of the hole, she went back down on the ground to hopefully find some leopard prints to follow. There were some, she noticed, in the area, but after circling around for a bit she couldn't figure out where they lead. She sighed softly and turned her eyes upwards: should she go back up the tree?

Jong slowly blinked his eyes as he roused from his sleep. He tested the air with his tongue and looked around. There was an itchy spot on his belly so he went to a tree to rub the spot. After satisfying the itch, he remembered the game he had been playing, the one the leopards started. So he jumped off and went looking for tokens again.

Jong skittered across the pathway in a zig-zag motion. He stopped every once in awhile to check his surroundings before continuing again. An area a little off the path he began to search under more leaves. With his luck, they'd all be under leaves and he'd have to push every single one aside to find the coins. He figured the leopard would just be hard. Maybe he could even land on her and he wouldn't notice. She must have some really good camouflage.
