Official Gaia Meetup In Sunrise.

I agree! Some of us up here in the panhandle can't drive 6 hours to Orlando without weeks of preparation. D:

Tallahassee or Jacksonville would be much more convenient!
Its only a 2 hour difference between Jacksonville and Orlando, but for some reason, thats quite a difference!

Me too! I probably would have been able to make it if I could get there n back in one day! Woulda been perfect!

Yeah, that's why they should have done two locations in Florida. Because there is no way everyone in Florida can make it to one, no matter where they put it.

I doubt this is going to be the only meet-up and that they'll only be going to one spot. Chances are, they'll probably hit Orlando the most, but they'll go into other popular cities around the state.

Hey, it's a definite no for me. I just found out I have to work all afternoon/night on Saturday and then go to bed and drive to the west side of Florida on Sunday for my grandma's birthday.

Aw. My mom wants to go to St. Augustine on Saturday and wasn't happy about me wanting to go to this thing in Sunrise but wasn't going to force me to go with her if other people from the guild were going and I could get a ride there. >_< But I'll probably just go to St. Augustine anyway because I don't think anyone from Orlando is going. So I'll be going the exact opposite direction. rolleyes I think I'll have more fun at St. Augustine than at this, though, and it's less time sitting in the car. I wish they would have done one in north Florida too, Florida is too big of a state for everyone to get to one place. What sucks though are the prices in the marketplace of the items you get from these meetups. x_X

From what I recall, the Gaia event is only for 2 hours anyway. It probably isn't really worth it to go all the way over there and all the way back anyway. whee

*does a li'l dance* Road trip, baby~ heck, yeah!

I'm going to make like a snowbird 'n travel south for
the summer.. or this Saturday, at least. And it's such
perfect timing because everyone loves the weekend.
Hooray for fun! ^o^

I'm simply grateful that it's not as far and away as
MegaCon, since I hate to drive long distances. ( ish
carpooling to this one, too. )

Yeah, they did come to Megacon a couple of years ago, so I'm glad they didn't ignore Orlando! I'm still hoping they'll have one of these more casual meetups somewhere close enough that I can make it though, since I like the idea of having a meetup that isn't part of a convention, especially since cons can be pricey. And I think I'd have more fun hanging out and playing games with people than sitting in a panel... The panel was interesting but I'd love to be able to attend a different kind of meetup. From what I could tell from the polls they had in the meetup forum, they are interested in the Miami and Tampa areas... Tampa is great for me because it's pretty close to Orlando, but it still doesn't help those in north Florida. I hope they are planning on having more of these, the only other one they have listed is in Kentucky.
