It's very possible to answer that, as far as we're concerned, each ending is cannon PROVIDED that that character was the one to defeat Blaze. And as far as we know, Midway is restarting the storyline, and for all we know the previous events of Mortal Kombat would be irrelevant to the next game. So, you could simply use your imagination... Of course, in Quan Chi's case, if that were to happen, then nothing would happen because then the storyline would simply take its natural course and end up with Quan Chi turning into the amulet again... It's a neverending cycle.
But to answer the question above...
A: If Liu Kang was never born, it's possible that the monks would have trained someone else for the tournament... For all we know Kung Lao would have been chosen to represent the Order of Light, defeated Shang Tsung, and would succeed his ancestor as the Champion of Mortal Kombat.
Q: What if Scorpion was the one to kill Sub Zero in the Shaolin Temple and entered the MK tournament as a living human.

Biohazard EXTREME Its_Rude_to_stare ummm... what if Daegon died before Taven awoke? Then, I guess aside from all the other 60+ fighters, it would be one less fighter in the way of Taven. Q: What if Shang Tsung died after MK1, and didn't come back to fight in MK2?
Than Liu kang would never be undead and I guess there wouldn't be a deadly alliance, possibly no onaga and then life would skip into armageddon... wow, tsung was an important character
Q: What if Sub Zero (in MK 1) never died?

There'd clearly wouldn't be any Noob, and since Sub-Zero(the younger I mean) was sent to MK only to complete the Elder's mission, the younger of the two probally would've stayed with the Lin Kuei and ended up getting the cyborg treatment like Cyrax and co.
Q:What if Bo Rai Cho was from Earthrealm instead of Outworld?
