False, the Rede does not say "harm none", and I know a fair few Wiccans who use curses and cast on others if it is needed. yes it does. the rede says These Eight words the Rede fulfill: "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

fallen_angel_216 yes it does. the rede says These Eight words the Rede fulfill: "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will" Meaning "If it doesn't harm, you should do it". It doesn't say "If it harms, dont' do it". The Rede is not against harm.

So it doesn't it, in fact, mean, "As long as you harm nothing, do whatever you want. Then again..... I could be wrong.

"An it Harm None, Do What you Will!" Interesting concept and I have heard variation after variation on what it does mean. To me it is, making a conscious attempt to think about any magic or action to make sure it isn't deliberately harmful to another. If it is, then I step back and re-evaluate what/why I am contemplating doing something. A really good article on the Rede and it's meaning can be found here: http://www.draknet.com/proteus/rede.htm

i took it as you shouldn't harm someone. But even if you don't, you shouldn't harm people with your gift anyways. the rede shouldn't be ALL of your morals...
If you think Hexing is wrong, don't do it. If you really want to hex, go ahead, it'll just come back to you threefold...

I think it means as long as you're not intentionally harming anything then it's an accetable thing to do. but the threefold law is a b1tch and will come around to bite you. domokun domokun
