FLIPPIN HEY! Butterfly Kiss, recently rejected from a kiss by union labor laws, found his way across the carnival and to the stand of two very... interesting... kin. Blinking, the buck cocked his head and observed the shells. "Everyone is a winner, huh?"
Well, it seemed some were winners and some were... Not winning winners. That carcass smelled worse than anything and BK had to turn and retch. Eurgh. Not a very pleasant win, if he had a say in this.
However, why not give it a shot? The worst that could happen... BK looked over at where the Kin who won the carcass had stood. There still seemed to be a stink cloud hanging in the air like an ominous warning. Beware, or be stanked. Well, that could happen.
Nervously, the buck pointed to one of the veeeery far corner pieces, "Why not that one?" It seemed sound and safe right?
Well his intuation wasn't wrong, and he wound up not with a token but something just as spiffy and it looked faintly butterfly like! Oh! Yes he could definitely enjoy something like this. Smiling he tucked the gift away. "Thank you.. I'll cherish it always."

FLIPPIN HEY!
Starglow dances up to the shells cheerily and tosses her head with a small snort of excitement, waggling her tail with the holly on the end excitedly. "I'll go," she chirps, and then ponders which she'll toss over.
Star picks up a shell and knocks out 10 tokens underneath, and squeals in excitement. "Oh yes, yes! This is a grand way to start the festivities," she sings loudly, and wiggles her rump, grinning almost obnoxiously at the fluffy purple buck. Clearly he didn't seem the social type, but Star's tendency to not get subtle cues just... completely flies over her head, and she butt-bumps him in celebration. "Thank you!"

FLIPPIN HEY!
So, um! Maybe Gecko wasn't supposed to leave her booth, but hey- a girl needed a break sometime! She had been at this for a very long time, after all. And besides that, this game seemed FUN! Tail waggling, Gecko watched some of the others go, to get a good idea of how it went. When it was her turn, she picked the shell, and...
"Oh! That is very good, yes!" She chirped, watching the tokens fall out. Looking up, she offered a bright smile to the smiley kin.
"Hey, um! I like your smile! Or your face. Your face smile?"

FLIPPIN HEY!
Smash-and-Mash eyed the shells suspiciously. They were hiding something. They were hiding many somethings. Their caretakers had said as much. But there were so many secrets a shell could hide. And some of them... could be nasty. Visions of spoiled oysters and reeking mussels danced in her head as she carefully-
And this was rare for her. She didn't do things carefully. She was a totoma of action and always had been. Even when she was little, she was impetuous- she diced first, measured later. In many, many cases it had served her well, this impetuousness of hers; she was a darn good smasher and an even better masher. This talent of hers let her feed her family; it had helped her to meet so very many new people. It was a passion of hers, but she wasn't alone in it. There were kin in the swamp who shared this burning, consuming love of hers. She'd gotten to meet some at the last festival, when they'd all come together for the harvest; she'd not only gotten to see the light of joy shining in the eyes of the old and the young as she helped dish out some of the delicious banquet, but she'd also gotten to show off her talents and physically share them. She smiled as she remembered her audience, recalled their roaring enthusiasm, reminisced about the kin who'd smashed along with her- no, it was true. Sometimes it wasn't good to be careful.
BUT NOW IT WAS. That shell could not be trusted. She chose the one that looked the safest; it didn't seem particularly suspicious, not when compared to some of the others. It was a simple, humble shell- not at all ostentatious, with little salt-and-pepper flecks on its outer layer- and under it was a token and a candied nut.
Ok, so there was a token. That she could live with. But a candied nut? A single candied nut? How did that GET there? What was it doing? Who did it know? Panic rose in the totoma's eyes as she stared at the nut. The world around her went dim and quiet- it was just her and the nut. She wanted to eat it, but could she trust it? What if it wasn't really candied but covered in a bitter resin? Or what if the honey had had hot peppers soaking in it? She knew there were others waiting, she couldn't just stay there. "TELL ME YOUR SECRETS, NUT!" she shouted, but the treat was a tough nut to crack and remained silent. In a panic, she shouted and SMASHED the thing before grabbing the token and fleeing. She SMASHED it into tiny little pieces, screaming as she did. She was completely unaware of her surroundings as she demolished the singular piece of plant matter; all that mattered now was DESTROYING IT.
She could never return... but she had to return. What if the nut had compatriots? This game was DANGEROUS. For the safety of the swamp, she would have to play again. It was the only way!

Can You squinted at the feathered, odd-tailed acha, and the prize she had won. "Heyyy, that wasn't supposed to be under there! What the heck - NEGATIVE! Negative, what are you doing back there!?"
Negative froze, staring silently at Can You after she yelled at him. Finally, he answered weakly, "Th'-th' best I can!"
The acha sighed and shook her head. "Pah, he ain't no fun to tease. Hey," she added, turning back to her customer. "you can keep that rock, since we messed up on that one. It ain't worth diddly in the market, but it looks kinda cool."
Negative spun to face the next voice that addressed him - and while he didn't quite unfreeze, he did relax a little (and blush a lot). It was the cute kissing booth girl! And she liked his mouth. He laughed bashfully and kicked at the dirt. "A-well, thank ya missy. Yer smile is pretty nice, too."
"It certainly is," Can You crowed to the bright yellow kimeti. "Exchangeable for many goods and services at this fine winter market. Like maybe something nicer than that ratty old flower to put in your hair!"
Her ears flicked as she overheard Negative chatting up a customer about something that wasn't the game. "HEY! Back to work, prize guy!"
Negative's ears drew back. "Uhhhr... yes'm. Nice ter meetcher," he added with a nod to the cute orange doe before obediently getting back to work.

FLIPPIN HEY!
This seemed like a calm, relaxing game.
Maybe not the acha doe wandering around, heckling everyone she could, as playfully as ever. But, the idea of just staring at shells and maybe winning something under one of them made the nervous kin feel . . . maybe less nervous. Honestly, it seemed like he wasn't alone, watching the other dark kimeti buck fumble around quietly with the gift replacing - a kindred soul of a sort - the both seemed not very good with crowds and loud achas. Maybe seeing Negative made him even more comfortable, and Draw slowly found himself sidling up to the table, hoping to get a try at it all.
What he didn't expect was so many little shells, standing on the table with their secrets, and treats. He watched as a couple kin picked a few prizes, (some bigger than others, it seemed,) and slowly, he tried to unlock the secret behind the puzzle.
Clearing his throat, he decided on a shell - one that was off to the side a little, next to an often picked shell piece. A little lonely on it's own, like he could be at times.
"H-hello." He piped up a little to the darker kin, his long tail flicking slowly behind him as he went to point to the shell he wanted, slowly going to push it over. "I hope you don't mind, I'm going to pick this one." He murmured after, as if he needed permission to push over the piece to find out what he was winning. After a moment's pause, he finally pushed the piece over, the table awarding him with two tokens.
Well! That was definitively one more than Gecko's table had offered him, (and this time, the kin who were actively running it where in, unlike his friend.) Taking the pieces, he awarded them a little smile - this was pretty fun.
