[META] The Rain Festival! (Over!)

Slausale

Slausale shifted slightly where she laid. The hybrids looked to be getting into the groove. There were a couple who looked like they were getting into the swing of things and getting the party started. The cheetahess just sighed. Instead she turned her doubtful gaze on a leopard who'd joined the group. Immediately, he hit it off with the male cheetah. She wondered what the pair were discussing. With her luck, probably nothing good about her.

She looked up at the bright clear sky. There wasn't the least bit of cloud in the sky, or the least bit of moisture that she could tell. Slausale gave a tiny sigh. There wasn't much the lame cheetah could do right now except watch.


Zayul

The pale female was delighted by the quick acceptance of her new dancing partner. This would be her best dance yet! "Yes come dance with us!" Zayul let off an laugh and waved her tail at the male hybrid. She tossed her head and her eyes crinkled with her laugh. "Have I danced? My dear, I live to dance!" She gave a bow. Zayul rose up to her hind feet then let her body sway elegantly.

"Oh I do hope you'll love this! Some dances have form, and some don't. Since I don't think we're doing a form dance, I'd say just go for the flow. Do whatever feels right and have fun." She dropped back down to all four and watched Kande eagerly to see what she'd come up with. Being able to interest another in her passion was always a dream. What could possibly be better than sharing what she loved most?

Looking back to the leopard, his ears twitched, his legs already wanting to move. He had found his rythmn and beat to dance to. "I go by the name Voljeni." He responded, giving him his name as well. It had been possibly a long time since he last interacted with someone. Looking to see the cloudless sky, he glanced at Nyota and grinned. "Let us do so, Nyota. We are looking for the results of what would happen, and us standing here wouldn't possibly get us any closer to that." He replied to the next words of the Leopard and took some steps forward before stopping.

Just letting his energy out, the cheetah first started by lifting his front paws then started to stamp them on the ground each time they came down. Afterwards, after a moment or two, he would then hop in his little place, stamping all his paws when he touched the ground. He would let his body rock to his own, simple moves.

No one was particularly organized, and the dancy was kind of cacophonous and messy, but when Chozi glanced up to the sky, there were soft clouds carrying into the lands. Perhaps it was working, but perhaps it was also chance? They could still just not get rain. That was always a possibility. "Keep it up everyone!" He encouraged the group. Perhaps if they danced with enough passion it just might work.

He took his time to weave through the pride. He had gotten separated from his family at some point during the morning, and he thought to make his way back towards them as the dance began to knock itself into full swing.

Now, he just had to find where they had gone to, of course...

Ban looked up to Kande with a half smile, half wince. Huffing gently the pastel coloured tufts of hair that seemed to grow thick and fast on his head flapped around incessantly. A dance partner? He groaned inwardly. So much effort. Looking from his father back to Kande, he nodded obligingly, beginning to move his limbs in an awkward motion. Looking as if he were constantly tripping over invisible tree roots, he could feel unease and embarrassment clinging hot to his fur. How long was this going to take again? His eyes turned towards the sky. Come on rain, hurry up, he thought. He certainly wasn't made for dancing, and continued to move about clumsily, shooting a transparent smile at his sister.

Slausale

There was more movement among the group. Some of it big, and others doing small little jigs. Slausale could tell who the frequent dancers were. They moved with grace. The cheetah started his own dance. If she hadn't been such a serious cheetah, she would have laughed. It looked ridiculous to her, but he was doing it for a pride that wasn't his. So the female kept her face straight. Slausale glanced up toward the skies. It looked like tiny puffy clouds on the horizon. A fluke she was sure.


Zayul

She noticed the male make his awkward attempt. Zayul did a neat step and slide to bring herself closer. "May I help?" She didn't want to hurt his pride, but she also wanted him to have fun. "Try a simple step with me." The female beamed a smile at him, then moved her front paws in a slow pattern so he could pick it up. "One, two, three, four..." She kept up the count and pattern with her own paws. Though she was much past this basic stuff, it was simple and still enjoyable.

Kande smiled listening to the older hybrid female telling her how to dance. There was no wrong moves Kande decided as the swaying that had just been in her rear end moved up her body through her back and shoulders. Her whole body was moving back and forth and she began to lift her paws doing little steps as she went. She wanted to go up on her hind legs like Zayul had but she just wasn't ready for that.

When Ban joined them Kande beamed with happiness, she liked to spend time with her siblings and she was happy that he had joined them, she loved her rainbow big brother. "Yay Ban" she said as he attempted to move with them, she stifled a laugh when she saw how awkward he was but was happy that Zayul stepped in to help him out. She stay with them dancing in a circle around them.

Doing nothing but his awkward dance, the cheetah was well pleased. Running was more his forte then dancing, so it was pretty awkward and much for a new dancer, but he was doing a thing for himself. Looking up, he could see forms of clouds to the point his movements starting to become for fluent. he left his body relax more, calming himself. Whenever he hopped, he would let his legs stretch out them pull back in quickly. The fluff among his nape began to rock back and forth, side to side with his moves as he kept trying to make it better, to the point he started to literally follow himself in his little spot, but it was still average moves.

Kande was swaying more vigorously now. She looked around the crowd they had collected for their ceremony. She was quite impressed. Moving towards one of the rogue cheetahs' that had joined the group she kept her dance in every step.

She approached the burgundy male cheetah. "Hello there thanks for coming and helping us out." Kande was excited with the prospect of rain. She had been born in the time of the drought and had never experienced the lushness of living that came with rain.

Feeling as if he was going to get a bit dizzy any moment, he stopped, only to be spoken to. His purple eyes delved into her blue ones for a moment before a wide, sweet yet silly grin went across his maw. "No problem at all. I have seen a couple of places hit by drought now and them, so its not a problem to lend another creature a paw or two, or maybe even four, to help out." He said in a pleased way, since he really was, well, pleased to talk to another felidae, and to keep in himself the fact that he desired this on his own.

Ban looked at the pretty female who had offered to help him out with a mixture of surprise and gratitude. She certainly seemed to know what she was doing, so had one up on him for certain. Counting the steps helped, and he fell into an easier rhythm, he could feel it more now. Smiling sheepishly at Zayul he thanked her quietly. "Can you tell it's my first time trying to dance?" Huffing from the effort still, he giggled gently.

Watching Kande's response he smiled at his sister and also directed his attention to the newcomer. "Welcome, thank you for your efforts." It was nice to see others lending a paw, and Ban was always one to greet newcomers with a friendly smile.

Kande smiled kindly at the cheetah and her brother as he also welcomed the newcomer and thank him for his help. Her brother was always so kind she thought.

"You have seen other droughts? Does that mean you have seen rain?" she asked. The adolescent female had never really seen the rain or all that much water before she was curious to hear more about it.

While she asked the rogue cheetah her questions she continued to dance. She was starting to get more comfortable with this dancing stuff, she moved her feet a little more quickly almost as if she were tap dancing.

Slausale caught her tail thumping in the dirt and with a will of effort controlled it. They didn't need her pitiful attempts to help them. She'd probably just scare any chance of rain right away! The cheetahess turned her head away from the dancers for a long moment. Was it enough she'd just put in an appearance? With her luck that might ruin everything. Slausale concerned a discrete exit as her contribution to saving the pride.


Zayul

She danced between the two siblings. Just using the time to enjoy herself. For once not worried about pleasing her audience, for there was none. Zayul giggled as a thought that everyone was a dancer now struck her. The elegant hybrid encouraged those around her with smiles and winks. Dancing was fun! Maybe she'd hold open dances from now on.

When Kande moved off, Zayul used the space to stretch herself out as far as she could go, her belly almost touching the ground as she pretended she was trying to stop the other hybrid from leaving the group. Eventually she couldn't stretch anymore and Kande stopped to talk to a rogue cheetah. Zayul let herself fall with practiced ease and rolled to bring her four feet up into the air. Now she 'danced' upon her back. Sure it'd make her coat dirty, but it was still fun. Especially to see the upside down expressions of those who saw her. Her feet continued to wave in the air.

She grinned at the male who'd found a rhythm with her help. "You should have seen my first time. I was all over the place." She laughed with him.

Kande turned in time to see Zayul stretch to the ground and than roll onto her back and continue to dance with her feet up in the air. Kande couldn't contain her giggles, it looked so silly but so much fun all at the same time.

"Come." she said to the cheetah she had been talking to and tried to lead him back towards where Zayul was dancing.

"That looks like great fun she said to the hybrid now on her back wiggling her feet, "Looks like I could learn a move or two from you." She said to the other female before Kande lowered herself onto the ground and promptly flipped over onto her back and began dancing with her feet in the air as well, She wasn't concerned about a dirty coat she was just happy and having a great time.

"This is amazing." Kande laughed as she moved her feet in all sorts of crazy foot patterns, things she would never have been able to pull off had she been standing on them.

He nodded to the question, remembering a few similar problems, but when he was asked to follow, he did so to find himself soon watching two let their legs do the work as the wiggled on their backs. It got a laugh through to him, but since it looked enjoyable, he laid down then rolled over, quickly letting his legs follow the same work as theirs.

Kande giggled when the male cheetah came and joined her and Zayul wiggling like fools on the ground. Having done as much fancy foot work up in the air that she could manage, Kande quickly flipped over onto her her stomach.

"Look we can dance like snakes too!" she exclaimed while slithering on the ground wither her front paws stretched in front of her and her back paws behind. She worked hard to push her body around in s like patterns. She was very thankful for the brown coat that her father had given her, she could wiggle around in this dry dirt without a worry of how she was going to look afterwards.
