"Whoa, really dude..?" there was a hint of awe, and excitement of her own in the usual chill, and cool voice she typically held. Even a little glimmer probably spotted in those pale white eyes of hers... but she crossed her arms over her chest, and shifted her weight a bit to resume her usual front, certainly not wanting to come across as some starry-eyed ghoul. "Sure, I'd be down for that." calm and cool.

His words seemed true enough... and she couldn't really see a reason for the boil to lie to begin with. Cannon was glaring at Roch by now, his lips even pulled back slightly into a snarl. Clearly he wasn't buying this... "Alright, I wouldn't mind helping you out. And I can always have Cannon hunt you down, after all... so that you have to buy me new strings, if you've lied." she teased... though the canine seemed more than prepared for such, giving a low growl in the back of his throat to the boil.

"Everyone wants t'be the guitarist," Roch said, shrugging. "If they were good enough, I'd take bass, but I'd rather have someone that loves the bass enough t'prefer it over guitar be my bass. But first--" he started grabbing random toy instruments until his arms were loaded, and headed for the front counter. "Charge all this to Casino Royale," he told the ghoul checking him out. He pulled out a card, showing it to her. "Under Roch Scythe--Gramps should know who to complain about later."

Once he was checked out he turned to her and the unhappy familiar, "Can I hear y'play? Would it take too long t'get your bass, or should I follow you? I'd like to see where you're at--nothin' personal."

She smirked again, with a light chuckle. "I'll take a bass any day." while she enjoyed attention, and didn't mind being the star of the show, she wasn't the type to seek it out through means that didn't stay true to her. Following Roch to the check out, she did a once around the place to see if there might be something she wanted herself... by chance. There were some cute little figurines... she grabbed one that was a hellhound of some variety, and took her turn purchasing it after the boil got his own items.

Turning the figurine in her hands a few times, she looked up to the other reaper and pursed her lips slightly in thought, "Nah, I understand. Well, it's back at my dorm room. You're free to come back there with me, if you'd like."

"Amity? Or someplace else?" he asked, looking at his huge bag of toys thoughtfully. "If it's Amity, y'mind if we stop down the street t'drop this off at my place? If y'feel uncomfortable you can wait outside," he said. "We can take my bike if we stop off there--er, cept y'might wanna walk if you want to keep Cannon summoned," he added.

There didn't seem to be any worry about how irritated the dog seemed to be. He could actually understand--the familiars he'd met tended to be overprotective. And like he'd as good as said earlier, he was a stranger. (It seemed he had become much more aware of this sort of fact since he'd left, not that she would know.)

"Yeah, Amity." she confirmed, pocketing her own little trinket. Looking at the boil's haul, she couldn't help but smirk. The kid sure was getting exposed to music early on, by the looks of it. That was good. The sooner the better. His concern was adorable, but not needed for a ghoul like her, "nah, I don't mind." she was confident she could handle what ever came her way. Perhaps a bit too cocky for her own good, but... she was pretty capable handling her own.

At the mention of unsummoning Cannon though... her gaze lowered to her large hound, stroking a hand along his smooth head, her bangles chiming softly. When was the last time he'd recalled him? she couldn't even remember. He was always at her side... After a moment of though, she came up with a better solution, "Don't worry, he can track us. He's been antsy to get out, and get some exercise. Haven't been able to let him hunt much lately, what with it being winter 'n all." kneeling down, she wrapped her arms around his thick neck, cooing sweetly to the canine who nuzzled and pressed to her neck... speaking quietly for only her ears to hear... his voice a very deep rumble anyway. Pressing a kiss between his eyes, a small spark of flames igniting on the spot, she stood, and turned towards Roch, "Lead the way, then. Let's see this bike of yours." guy seemed pretty hardcore, so far. Her kind of creeple.

Roch headed for this large brick building down the street, not even noticing the graffiti painting of Jack the Pumpkin King on the side. "Here's my place--well, it's actually my pop's, I just rent the loft an' work in the garage," he said as he headed for the front. A large garage was open to the street there, with several different creatures working inside. A tall, blonde reaper that looked a lot like him glanced up as Roch walked in.

"You've brought home a ghoul?" Austin asked, his cighoullette hanging from his lips.

"No, I brought back a bag of toys t'drop off before I check out how well Verusha plays bass," Roch said, handing the bag to one of the workers. "He's with his Grandma still?"

"Yeah--they went to the minipet zoo."

"Sweet," Roch said. "Oh, right, Verusha this is my pop, Austin Scythe. Pop, this is hopefully my temp bassist an' her familiar, Cannon. We're headin' out, now."

Then he turned and motioned her to a motorcycle in the drive. "Over here," he said, mounting it and offering her a helmet.

She looked along the large building that was the other reapers home, giving a small nod in acknowledgement. Looked nice enough. She wouldn't really know much though. So long as the interior had all that was needed, that's all that mattered in her book. Gaze turning to the garage, she curiously watched the various vehicles of sizes, shapes, and colours, a bit intrigued by them...

The other blonde stood out like a sore thumb, Verusha giving him an up-nod, and a "hey" when they were introduced. Roch's old man, huh? she could see the resemblance. Her familiar didn't give any sort of pleasure in seeing the older gent, nor his own introduction, keeping close against the ghouls leg, to the point that his firey fur brushed her skin with each step. How did Roch's dad feel about the whole single father thing? it wasn't her business but... she did wonder. Her own parents would probably lose their minds... the thought made her smirk with amusement. That'd be great.

With 'seeya' for Roch's pops, Verusha followed the boil to his bike, checking it out. Not bad. Smoothing her bangs back on the one side they existed, she pulled on the helmet, and secured it, "Haven't ridden one of these in awhile." she admitted, "You sure do have a lot of skills, don't you?" working in a garage and being a musician? heck, she hardly made it out being a student, herself.

He let out a purely wicked laugh at that statement, grinning as he pulled his own helmet on.

"Screech, you got no idea," he drawled in a surprisingly sexy tone. "But I don't hit on band members--well, honestly, all my band members have been either dudes or skeletons, who were also dudes, but regardless," he said in a teasing tone. "I'll tell you about MOST of my skills, how's that sound?"

He shifted the bike into gear, glancing back at the familiar with a slight nod before taking off. "I built this bike when I was about sixteen. I ran a battle of the bands a bit after that, I'm trained to be a Trick or Treater--even spent a bit of time in Thanksgiving Land. I was in a touring band for a year, sooner or later I'll go back. Halloween is a jackin' HUGE place. It's amazing. You ever travel?" he asked. It seemed like no time at all before Amity was in view.

She blinked at him at first... before a round of laughter came from her now. Well if he wasn't fun, she didn't know who was. Sitting comfortably behind him on the bike, she gave a mild playful pout, "Can't tease a ghoul like that, now. And I'm only a temporary member, aren't I?"

Cannon rolled his eyes, and a new wave of fire washed over him from the conversation... a growl of his own started up as the bike did, and he waited a little for them to take off before heading after them, always keeping the chopper in sight.

Listening to the pretty eventful life Roch had, Verusha couldn't help but feel envious. She'd done so little, considering the tight restraint her parents liked to impose, along with her not wanting to disappoint them entirely. They were just the boring, uptight, plain sorts anyway. All the amazing things Roch listed were totally unacceptable. But the ghoul gave a soft, wistful sigh as she thought of how great it'd be if she could have done even half the things he did. "Oh, nah. I wish. But I haven't really gone many places, besides to visit distant relatives.." in a pleasantly cold place, but with cold hearted creeple just as well. Looking up at the towering school, she realized... he'd been a student here, but wasn't anymore. "So should we be avoiding anyone in particular while you're here?"

He went silent for a moment, a serious expression crossing his face even though she couldn't see it. "Well... I made up with Sparrow, and I heard Herryk..." he stopped, going silent again before shrugging, "didn't make it. I really doubt Yin is still in school. Hell, I doubt I know anyone still in school, other than my little sister, Seiji, maybe Mikey, and a little handful of others," he admitted.

"Most of my old pals should have graduated. Although I did hear Jove was sticking around, and I know Amrita is, too... but I don't need to avoid them! We should be fine," he said. "I've been out a time or two already, nothing happened."

He parked in front of the building as soon as they were close, waiting for her to dismount as he took his helmet off. "What about you? Anyone to avoid? Like a boilfriend that might be shocked at you ridin' with another guy?"

All these names rattled off didn't mean anything to her. To be fair though she hardly knew anyone, and didn't really have any friends. Frost was probably the closest to one... but who knows where he was anymore. Still, Verusha was glad they wouldn't have to sneak around carefully to make sure none of his old rivals would spot him.

Hopping off the bike, she pulled off her helmet, and flipped her hair, fingers combing through it to situate. Looking back behind them, where they'd came, she could feel Cannon's warmth swiftly approaching. He'd be here any second now. But Roch's question made her look back to him, and chuckle, "Nah, I wish though." she set his helmet on his bike where she'd sat, "don't have any friends, really. And none of the boils seem to stick around."

Cannon arrived moments later, instantly circling the canine queen, who in turn stroked his head in praise, cooing softly to him. His flames kicked up with their closeness and affection, calming after he'd had his share. "Well, you already know the way, I'm sure." the ghoul started for the reaper dorms, heading right for her room. Inside, the walls were entirely covered with bands members, and video game characters, the rest of the decor holding the same sort of theme. There were an equal stack of games as there were music in various points of her room, the place not necessarily messy, but certainly not organized. Her bass rested against a wall, all black with a red wolf design stretched around the back to the front. "Go ahead and make yourself at home." Cannon already did so himself, taking seat in the doggy bed that was beside her own bed, staring intently at Roch. Watching him relentlessly...

"Hey now, man, I'm not gonna do a thing t'your reaper," Roch told the dog, holding up both hands in a "I'm innocent" motion. Going into a ghoul's bedroom was cool and all, but it was also when the dog was most likely to attack, if you asked him. So Cannon was the one that got his full attention. "Y'got the whole bodyguard thing down pat, though, so kudos on that, but--"

He moved closer, lowering his voice to almost imperceptible, "if your ghoul wants friends, don't y'think you should let up a little? Hard t'make pals when there's a dangerous lookin' dog glowerin' at the prospects."

He hated seeing lonely ghouls. It was one of his biggest weaknesses. It'd gotten him into a lot of deep crap in the past, though, and he'd be the first to admit it.

Cannon pulled his lips back for another snarl and growl to Roch, glowing eyes narrowing with the assurance that was attempted. Right... like he'd trust this guy, who seemed to be nothing but trouble. But the doberman remained silent besides the guttural roll that rumbled from him. If someone worthy of his ghouls company came along, then sure. Maybe he'd consider possibly toning it down.

Smirking to herself, Verusha watched the two of them as she pulled on her bass, and plugged in its patch. Turning on the amp, she adjusted the volume accordingly, followed by tuning. She'd need to get some new strings soon, she came to realize, as well, their give a little more than she'd like. Once she was ready, Verusha went right into it, fingers dancing on the thick metal strings with ease to play a solo in one of her favorite rock bands. They actually appreciated the bass, rather than hid it, most of the riffs being completely different but compatible to the lead guitars'.

She could hear the rest of the accompaniment in her head as she played, eyes closing as that urge to hum along was stifled.

He shrugged it off, giving up. The familiar obviously hated him, and he only had so much time before he'd have to get home for his kid. Instead he reached out, summoning his guitar. The rush of FEAR that came with summoning it was noticeable, and a tiny bit oppressive (since he was an alumni.)

He started playing the guitar part, keeping it low, though, so he could hear her. It was steady, well played, and exactly what he was looking for. He would have to introduce her to Seiji and Nahm, of course, but he wasn't too worried. Neither of the guys were divas--and Nahm would probably adore her, especially. Sexy ghouls usually got that response from the gru. Hell, who was he kidding? Sexy ANYTHING usually got that response from the gru. He grinned at her when the song finished.

"Sweet," he said, Desiree still in front of him. The skeletal guitar hummed gently even though he wasn't playing it. "We'll have to introduce you to the boils and go from there."

It was definitely impressive to see Roch summon his axe like that, nearly distracting Verusha as she played. But her fingers had a mind of their own, to which they didn't deter from their fluid dance. The light join in of Roch's own part was a pleasant addition, though the fire along Cannon's spine flared a little in response to the unleashed weapon.

With the conclusion of the song, she looked up to the boil, checking out his guitar with great interest. Man, what a beaut. His approval made her grin in that cocky sort of way, "Awesome. What do they play then?" obviously there'd be another guitar player, and drum set, but... "got someone who sings?"
