⊱ ⊱ ⊱ Alice's notes were perfect. She wrote down everything Mrs. Reid said was important and she kept up easily, even though it was a senior's advanced class. After class was over, Alice walked up to her teacher. "Hello Mrs. Reid, I'm Alice Burkelee, the new student. I was wondering If I could get all of this week's assignments at once." She said. The older woman's jaw dropped and she gave the girl a packet of assignments. Alice smiled gratefully and hurried off to her AP Chemistry class, finding it easily. Again, Alice sat in the back of the room and took notes. At the end of that class, she asked for the week's assignments in advanced before she went down to the lunch room. Alice sighed when she saw all the tables were full. She got her lunch then went to sit outside under one of the weeping willow trees in the court yard. The girl put her earbuds in and turned the volume on her music up as she ate a little food and sketched absentmindedly. She could feel people staring at her, but she just ignored it, hoping everyone would just leave her the hell alone
