Chiaki
❝ They say never to judge a book by its cover..❞
• Name: Chiaki Fu Natumiki
• Nickname/s: Aki, Fu-Fu, or Chi
• Age: 22
• Gender: Male
• Race: Human ninja
• Crush: Don't ask..
• Personality: Chiaki is a true believer of "act now, think later.." when it comes to daily life. Instead of standing by and wasting precious time weighing out his different options the boy finds that it is more important to spring off your feet and snag whatever it is your hunting for. Things change to quickly now a days not to.
Yet on this same note he is also a man willing to dig in his heels once he has his mind set on a certain goal. May that be from the simple task of learning how to make some new form of meal or baring his teeth in favor of beating an obnoxious opponent to the ground. Whatever the case may be this bull-headed male is determined and will keep getting up until his feet fall out from underneath him. But don't take this and hold it to heart for Chiaki is far from a street side bully. He has feelings to you know and they just like any other being can get hurt. In these trying times he tends to wave off peoples words when it involves his own skin so to speak. But don't expect him to hand you his heart on a golden platter if you betray him or cut his being to the bone. Grudges are ugly to hold onto he knows but its difficult to expect the very person who just hurt you to loyally watch your back..
On a side note however, this male has an old fashioned set of morals. Breaking a path open for the weaker to escape first. Or giving up a meal they had struggled for to the more desperate in the group. Not only does it tend to ware him down but it gives him a sense of pride. Knowing he hasn't totally lost his mind and turned into an animal just yet.
This male unintentionally draws people in. His outgoing attitude and leadership qualities providing that sturdy beacon people follow.
• Biography: Chiaki hadn't always lived in Tokyo no.
In fact he moved here not only seeking a new start but shelter from things he wanted to forget.
Once the rough patches were blotched out Chiaki found that he wanted to move on. It was a rough conversation to have with his grieving mother who couldn't bare the thought of one of her children leaving home at such an ugly time. She couldn't understand how he wanted to get up and try something when the looming cloud of war was just off in the distance. He however finally subdued her into allowing him to leave, to trek to the big city and start a new by picking back up with his life. By life he meant his dream of going to school and doing something great with himself. To enjoy the freedom of living in the big city without extra luggage while they still could. So with the majority of his important things packed down onto his ten speed mountain bike the boy bid them farewell. Wishing his younger brothers, twins, to be good for their mother and take care of the house. While kissing his mother goodbye with the final message to get well he left.
With the smile of a fresh beginning on his face Chiaki rode to the closest reliable bus station himself. Loading his things into the vehicles underbelly he plopped down and waited to reach his destination.
It was hard to get on his feet however once he arrived. Difficult to land a job, even more trying to actually convince a landlord that he would be a reliable tenant despite only being 18 at the time. Annoying to fill out the pile of school applications at his shifty kitchen table while munching on nothing but cheap packets of instant ramen. But at the very point Chiaki cracked under the pressure. Dropped to the floor on his knees in defeat did his father's advice come crashing into his head with the taste of good news riding on its back.
"Grit those teeth son!" he would say, slapping his hand upon the young boy's head with the loving intent of a father. "Grit those teeth and push back on that fence until it snaps like a twig. " he would finish only to ruffle his sons hair and lead him inside to patch up his bloodied knee or play a game of cards to cheer him up.
This time however, the conclusion to this mantra of encouragement was receiving a delayed letter from his landlord. The letter of acceptance from the school he had been trying to get into for weeks.
It also brought along the chance to prove himself at work. For the following day while he was on a delivery run he was faced with a fellow co-worker in distress. A petite little female who had just been hired on to the "Force" their boss liked to call it. Chiaki worked for an intense delivery system. One that relied heavily on the use of all purpose bikes and the will power of its employees to ride cross town distances in a timely manner. It was tough and grueling work to say the least. Requiring one to be able to weave through traffic and keep whatever it was they had been assigned to carry safe and out of peoples hands. It was usually just documents going from one CEO to another but it was fast and it was professional. Instead of relying on the mail system which could take up to days or weeks even to deliver they turned to the JetCO, a street knowledgeable system that was able to duck through the city with ease. It was during one of his runs that he came across his co-worker, Chesha who was downed. Swooped right off her bike by a hungry pack of hyenas. The small girl was by far no match for the three males doing the preying and for Chiaki it was a bit of stretch as well. Sure, he wasn't totally buffed up but not as weak as a bean pole either. So, dropping his bike to the ground like a bag of potatoes he stomped down the ally and jumped into the fray. The after effects left him out of work for a good week to recover from the fight. He had gone home with minor injuries yes, a bruised rib, some scratches and a swollen eye but his job was far to difficult to work under his condition so he was forced home. Couldn't complain to much however seeing as how he was able to get ahead of his class at school and was even visited by Chesha, the very girl he had pulled out of trouble. Eventually they grew close. The shy girl finally opening up and acting more like her goofy self and months into their friendship Chiaki asked her out.
She replied with a timid yes..
Even though he had no car he was there at Eight sharp to pick her up. Peddled her to various locations on his bike's handle bars to show her a good time. Which it was. One of the best and on occasions awkward nights of his life but he wouldn't take it back for the world.
By the age of 21 they were on the verge of being a couple for two and a half years now. He had a car now and they shared an apartment together even. Yet life had other plans it seemed..
While on his way to pick her up he was forced to sit at a notoriously long red light. Occupying himself with the images on the television across the street, broadcasting pictures of the war and noiselessly declaring updates that Chiaki couldn't hear from his enclosed car. Red light changed to green and he pressed in on the gas peddle to continue his way to his girlfriends place of employment. Everything was normal, slow and leisurely until just like thing it all went to hell.
The ear piercing sound of impact hit his ears. Red light grew so bright he was forced to close his eyes which left him blind to what was happening. The sounds of metal scrapping and people screaming barely registered as the boy's vehicle was flipped over from the force of on coming traffic. People panicked and he was sure that he was slipping into death and falling down into hell as he rolled out of his passenger side window. But that zap of life woke him back up as a paramedic shook him awake, calling to his companions that this boy was alright and they should move on to the next. Chiaki woke to chaos. Girls crying and men shouting, people pushing and the sky.
The sky was clouded over with the spouts of smoke from fire. It didn't truly dawn on him what was going on until he stumbled to his feet and realized that his phone was missing. Such a trivial thing but held far to much weight considering he had lost all contact with Chesha. Panicked the male pushed through the throngs of people the rest of the way to her building. Only to find that it to was a mess. Windows were broken and the smell of burning...things hit his nose. Determined however he made his way inside, climbed the stairs up the three floors and ran down the maze of halls in search of his girlfriend.
To late however, the pixie like female was already sucking on her last gasps of breath when he arrived. A piece of jagged debris jutting from her stomach like an ugly reminder that the war was here now. On their streets with a vengeance..
The only comfort he had in that situation was that he was able to hold her as her eyes faded and she choked.
Yet he couldn't sit and mourn over his lost lover either for the building began to crumble like a stack of cards and he was forced to leave. Get back out onto the streets and attempt to find some sort of direction. After all he could focus on was just keeping his feet moving like the rest of the people shuffling around the streets. Mindless questioning what had gone wrong. Why were they being pushed back onto their home lines so to speak. Pssht, where was this army that his father had so proudly died for huh? He turned bitter those few days. Taking to himself and wallowing in his own misery until a bit of hope came to him. Given to him in the form of a wondering survivor. A kid none the less to his surprise and bitter realizatiion. Another failure on this "armies" part considering that one of their own was just, roaming. Alone...so with a frown at the childs condition he took the kid in.
Not that would ever readily admit but it gave him that push he needed to pick himself back up. It was nice to actually look after someone.
So falling on old habits Chiaki pushed the ugly part of his life away and into the background to forget just like he had done when he first came to Tokyo.
