The Fierce Deity

PostPosted: Sat Apr 01, 2006 10:13 am
::His gloved fingers clenching more tightly around the backs of Epitome's hands, the tall Mystic Orinian Wolf Demon maintains a solemnly calm expression on his face, showing no strain or exertion. His arms don't move, continuing to increase the strength used to push back against Epitome's arms; the harder he fights back against him, the stronger Fierce appears to be.

His brows raise gently as he sees the boy rearing back for a headbutt. Not finding this test of strength will truly go anywhere, he prepares to counter. In the blink of an eye, Epitome's forehead backs contact, but instead of Deity's cranium, it slams into the devil's right knee. Straightening his arms and lifting his knee, Deity uses his strength and force himself away, pushing his leg out and releasing the boy's hands as he spins into a backflip. He twirls backwards in the air slowly before beginning to fall.

His boots land with a soft thud as he hits the ground, his wolflike tail swinging about casually as he looks back up at his opponent. Epitome is impressive enough to still even be in the battle, but that may indeed change once Deity starts using more power in his attacks. Suddenly, there is a rift that blasts open in the sky, blindingly bright and blue in shade. Deity calmly glances at it, only tilting his head down to allow the brim of his hat to mask him from the light.

As the light recedes, he looks back up, slipping his hands into the pockets of his jeans at his hips. This is rather odd. The large battleship is alien to him, but not entirely out of the ordinary. He has seen massive spaceships and battle cruisers around his brother's empire many times. They are likewise unimpressive. The lone Orinian glances over to Epitome as if to catch his reaction for a moment, arching an eyebrow as he returns his attention to the ship.::

Fortunatly due to the focous of ki, to his head, the impact of the knee was not done with as much force as his other attacks. If anything it was as though the knee was used as a distraction to escape his grip, and thus it worked in time. Epitome's blue eyes traced themselves upon Deity's features watching his body move towards the ground slowly, while he continued to hover in the air. Before lowering himself towards the ground, keeping hold of his focous, moving towards the ground lightly his black bangs falling upon his face shadowing his eyes from view as well.

The underside of his shoe would be the first to touch the ground, his arms would be at his side his blue gaze would never shift from his view. This being known as Deity caught Epitome's attention. A smile etched its way upon his lips, indeed a smile in which was full of the very depths of malice. His fingers curved at the excitement, the tips of it would dig into the surface of his skin. Deity was strong. Epitome would not allow such a chance like this go to waste.

Unfortunately for him destiny had other plans. His senses detected the rift, as though he was linked with it, his head turning to stare at the sky, his black sunglasses reflected the glowing hue of blinding blue light, his black bangs blew in the passing breeze, as he watched the great vessel with slight interest. His right hand was brought to rest upon his hip. Head tilted to the right, at such a sight like this.

"Indeed..."

This would be his only words given towards the vessel. His expression was that of someone who had to wait for commercials to be over, just to watch his favorite show. Indeed, anticipation was the most felt emotion around this point and time, and yet at the same time there was nothing holding Epitome back as well, which meant he could do whatever he pleased. No restrictions. No specifics.Nothing. This would be one thing and one thing only, and that would be known..as well..

Allowing a short sigh to escape his lips he waited to see what the ship would do, wondering if it would merely fly over the two of them, though considering the high rate of increase, and energy output , they may as well be considered threats to existence.

Dozens of gun emplacements begin to glow on the underside of the battleship. Its beam weapons quickly gathering a charge as they prepare to scour the grouund below.

Doocking bay open on the starboard side, and squads of (M)edium (I)nfantry Mechs disengage themselves, dropping into the skies before engaging their burners and drifting.

A voice comes over the Battleship's PA, amplified and directed at the warriors below.

"Attention combatants. This is Captain Townsen Rivers of the third Ikian Army. You are ordered to surrened immediately and present yourself for reconfiguration at the advanced processing factory. Those who do not comply will be summarily executed."

::The tall Mystic Wolf Demon from planet Orion sighs softly, hoping the malice he felt within the ship was misleading. As the voice booms down toward him and Epitome, Deity stands silent, placing his heels together as he eyes the movements of the mechs. <You need to specify the size and approximate weight of these things... < <;;; > He remains calm and shows no signs of concern as the MIs drift about, the helixes of his pointed ears twitching about in acknowledgement of otherwise unheard sounds.

The lone Tonepian warrior says nothing, nor does he make any move to defend against or attack the ship or the mechs. He has nothing against this force, even if it is interrupting his battle with Epitome. That doesn't change his ideals, however. If it attacks him, it will be destroyed utterly, and without question. Lowering his head to hide his face with the brim of his hat, Deity hangs his head somewhat lower, his appearance unthreatening.::

Epitome tilted his head to the right side, a bit more, confusion would be the grace his features clearly as he blinked at it. The amplified voice, gave him an interesting idea, however his imagination was not going to be put into view here at the moment. The fact of the matter here was his fun was spoiled. Now why would we even want to do this when nothing was holding him back this time?

His gaze shifted to Deity,"Feel like surrending? Who knows they may have free food.."He remarked with an air of sarcasm heard within the tone of his voice.

((Each MI Mech is approx. 5 feet tall with either a hyperion or a beam loadout. The hyperion loadouts have hyperion bazookas and blast shields, the beam loadouts have solid stream rifles and melee weapons.))

The Battlecruiser fires without further warning. Dozens of beam emplacements open fire, spitting long streams of blue energy at the earth. About half a mile above the surface, they meet at a single point, condense, and unleash bloody massacre on the ground below.

((I suggest you both move. ^_^))

<<...so, in other words....they have some big guns, some bigbig guns, and a whole lotta bigbig ammo... < <; ....got'cha.>>

::As if in a trance, the tall Orinian devil pays no attention to the words so sarcastically leaving Epitome's lips. His vermillion eyes close as he stands silent in the middle of the sandy desert, prevailing winds blowing the sand and dirt wildly about with his scarf and coat. His tail swings gently behind him against the breeze, and while he shows no fear, he still displays no intention to move or battle.

Without any notice, the ship attacks, the resulting outcome being a massive detonation of sorts, blinding the small figure of Deity from the view of the ship or its forces. The moment the blast explodes into existence, any life signals from the Mystic Tonepian vanish, as if he isn't there at all. He remains unmoving up until the last instant in which he is detectable by either this new foe or Epitome, appearing to have been caught within the blast.::

Ironically as soon as the words were spoken the battlecruiser let forth it's first assault on the two of them. The sapphire hue of Epitome's sentient orbs, broke down the structure of every molecule and every being of light forwarded from the energy output. His mind would center forth his concentration upon the nearbye electrons for further use, focousing his entire mind tapping into that of his cerebral cortex, for the full use of his mind. His stance was a normal stance, his hands at his side, until he focoused the free-flowing electrons into that of his entire being.

The light would shine, hiding himself from view as well as Deity, and the ship. Altering the rotation of electrons to move backward. His existence would not be detected, until the end of movement as the explosion's prime would meet. It was as if he was there, and gone at the same time..

Yet despite this his figure was no longer in view.

The mechs land with a -=whump=-, spreading out across the sands. The smoke clears to reveal the blast area from the beam cannons, a crater of sand fused into glass.

::The smoke and dust waft about lazily, slow-moving nigh-intangible masses simply drifting through the air and curling around the small mechanisms as they roam the crater to see what remains of their prey. No doubt, they eventually will come across where the tall Orinian was - or, more specifically, is. Though the level of the ground has been lowered around fifty meters due to the force of the explosion, he remains unmoved, his energy signature staying low and undetectable.

Of course, his other bodily functions are running as usual, and, aside from a significant layer of dust collecting upon his coat and the brim of his hat, he is virtually unharmed. This is an example of either his speed or his endurance, and he doesn't seem like he'll be telling. Regardless of the mechs' position possibly being underneath him, he begins his descent, his hands buried snugly in his pockets as he lands upon the ravaged ground. A small collection of loose dust is blown to the side almost immediately upon his landing, his trenchcoat casually flapping in the breeze.

The Mystic devil arches his right eyebrow at the failed attempt at execution by the so-called Captain Rivers. Hopefully this display is the least-useful of the assets available to the Captain, or else Deity would almost feel guilty for wiping these little robots out. Ignoring them for just a moment, he turns his head to where he last saw Epitome, wondering if he faired as well in the midst of the detonation. He'd hate to have their duel permantently interrupted.::

Silenced would be found within the form of the smoke, as the machinery would move throughout the area. Epitome was gone from his spot. His existence would be unknown for now. It would appear that Shin-Class warrior known as Epitome was gone. Erased from the essence of the world along with both his physical and metaphysical properties of his DNA structure. Dry cells would be his only remains that fell upon the spot, microscopic in the usual format of view.

Suddenlly, there was a loudSLAM! Dust would kick up around the surrounding area. Five ft from the left of Fierce, a figure could be seen, within the smog of dust, his purple bangs swayed wildly in the rough currents of a passing draft. His sentient purple eyes would gave ahead towards the ship. His right hand jammed within the depths of his pockets.

Epitome was still alive. However, he was feeling quite impatient.

"Once more...."He muttered. He needed the perfect output status if he was going to get what he was planning done correctly. His left hand hung at his side near his waist. His eyes would break down the genetic structure of the ships exterior. Within his left hand was..a fruit. An apple, of which he brought towards his lips, to taste it's sweet inner..taste.

Epitome waited, the symbols upon his gloves would be illuminated within a crimson hue. It's gathering of the surrounding electrons would be noticed within the fabric of it's existence.

::Deity senses Epitome off to his left now, turning his head back forward and giving him a sideways glance. He smiles softly, the first visually descriptive sign of expression upon his countenance thus far, the upper half of his face remaining hidden. Not wishing to consider the opening maneuver much of an attack, these missiles seem much more unqiue. Then again, uniqueness has never been synonymous with usefulness. Not wishing to give in to their assault, Deity slips his left hand from his pocket as the mechanical figures raise their guns.

Without any sign of warning, a thin trail of uplifted dust leads one's sight in a straight line, forwrad from Deity's location. Following a loud crash, one of the mechs is missing, replaced in position with Deity; the robot itself is skidding off harshly somewhere in the distance at the edge of the crater wall. His right leg is forward, his other knee on the ground with his left elbow pointed out, having just struck the MI in what would be its torso. Whether it's still in one piece or not is up to its durability, though any mortal creature would've reacted in a fashion similar to that of an explosion. In any case, Deity doesn't seem to want to pay much more attention to it, the missiles going off behind him seemingly unnoticed.

Not content on simply taking all of their attacks and shrugging them off, Deity finds now would be a good time to counterattack. The first stream laser pierces into the ground at Deity's feet just as he takes to the air, turning to look down at the mechs and Epitome (if he hasn't hightailed it) after reaching thirty feet. He raises his left index finger into the air, a bright red glow overcoming his fingertip.

Catching into sight all MIs in the immediate area, he aims his arm down and flicks his wrist, spinning it 405 degrees counter-clockwise and unleashing a Death Wave upon the small grouping of machines. Like a whip, the narrow beam of crimson energy twirls through the air in the circular shape Deity has spun it, expanding out and covering more range. If the MIs move any slower than the speed of light, they'll all be summarily sliced into little pieces, no matter how powerful their armor happens to be. If Epitome remains still, he will be unharmed; if he happens to venture into the path of the Wave, he too would be at risk of being torn in half.

Despite this attack, looking far too focused on these small machines, Deity prepares for more beam rifle shots, though he wonders what would happen if he blocked or otherwise was struck but one. Surely his endurance could save him, but if not, he would only have to fear taking such a wound once. As he releases the Death Wave, his power jumps back up to what it was earlier, when he was fighting Epitome alone.::

Two violet eyes look over the desert to the giant battleship, drawn by a mixture of forces gathered. The presense of Ikibetech takes a back seat to the mystic demon that has drawn his gaze, a frequent visitor of an establishment he had been to only so few times. Ashen gray locks fall across his eyes in the desert winds, hiding two small wings in a mess of hair. About his head a light blue sheen can be seen, shining bright in the darkness of the night skies. A choker surrounds his neck, blue sigils and arcane marks slowly revolving just above the collar of his loose grey dress shirt, the depiction of a weaping phoenix upon the back is clear as day.

Two violet wings wreathed in blue flame extend from his back and seem to run down his arms, complimenting the blue chain that is wrapped around his right hand. An orb of crimson flecked with emerald surges around him in a steady unrelenting pace. His midnight blue cargo pants bulge near the bottom as two boots of a similar color wrapping around his feet.

His two fingers of mithral construction twitched and moved of their own accord, seperate from the rest of his hand, hidden slightly by the chain wrapped tightly around his hand. Streams of mana flowed around him, passing through his form and through the chain around his arm. Already he had begun, already he had seen the destruction that could be wrought here this day. He began to dart through the skies towards the combatants and what had moments ago been a peaceful ring of mecha that were bent on destruction. Now, however, he wasn't sure how intact they were going to be.

Statistics
Incarnum Radiance: Four times per day Torment can produce one of four Auras. The effect lasts 4 rounds. I will clarify that only one aura may be active at a time.
Silver: Aura of Deflection
Ashen Gray: Aura of Destruction
Blood Red: Aura of Accuracy
Emerald: Aura of Speed
Share Incarnum Radiance: Three times per day Torment can extend his aura to his allies. This expends an Essentia point due to the strain.
Perfect Meldshaper: Once Per Day Torment can flood each of his Soulmelds with a single Essentia Point without actually expending that point.
Soulmelds Avilable: 9
Power Center Binds Available: 5
Essentia Pool: 20

Soulmelds
Crown Power Center: Crystal Helm
This helm is formed from the soul, pure light in a pale blue form that enhances the mind and extends the body. This soulmeld enhances the mental fortitude of the wearer and refracts his form, letting him deflect attacks easier. The Meldshaper can use a point of Essentia to force himself out of the way of an attack or to nullify an attempt to manipulate his mind, if he is aware. Binding this Soulmeld allows the Meldshaper's weapon to affect incorporeal creatures and those usualy not affected by physical weapons.
Feet Power Center: Impulse Boots
These boots grant the ability to avoid surprise attacks, acting on magically aided impulses. When attacked from behind the meldshaper is given a knowledge and an attempt to dodge. Expending an Essentia Point allows the meldshaper to literally leap out of the way of an attack. When bound this Soulmeld gives the ability to dodge traps and spells with greater ability.
Hand Power Center: Phoenix Feather-Bound
This Soulmeld manifests as a long chain with a blade on one end and a weight on the other that only Torment can shape. When bound to the hand it wraps around his fist/palm, wrapping around his forearm when bound to his arm. The arm version allows expenditure of an Essentia point to create a weapon, the hand version allows expenditure for mana generation. When bound to the arm it provides a constant stream of mana at 1/4 a post per post. When bound to the arm it doubles to 1/2 per post. When bound to both the weapon ability is reactivated.
Arm Power Center: Wings of Flame-Bound
See Shoulders
Brow Power Center: Soulspark Familiar Variant
See Soul.
Shoulders Power Center: Wings of Flame-Bound
This soulmeld allows Torment to form to great wings of blue and violet flame from his back. These wings grant flight but with fatigue. Expending an Essentia Point allows him to use the Wing Shards attack, firing off wisps of flaming incarnum to attack the enemy. The effects are the same when placed upon the arms, but weapons become useless. When Bound to the shoulders flight is possible without fatigue and the Wing Shards become more powerful. When boudn to the arms a set of Wing Shards are constantly acive upon his arms, much like spines. When bound to both his wings can take massive amount of punishment, taking on a solid composition instead of bound by magic, also giving him great speed.
Throat Power Center: Words of the Magi
This soulmeld allows Torment to manifest a choker around his neck or a crown upon his head formed of words. When linked to the throat this allows Torment to project a sonic blast by expending an Essentia Point. When linked to the Crown it allows him to expend an Essentia Point to fuel his spells. When bound to the throat it allows a sonic burst for free once every three posts. When bound to the crown it doubles the power of all sonic based spells. When bound to both, this harmony gives all offensive energy spells a sonic energy component, but disables the sonic blast.
Heart Power Center: The Inferno Within-Bound
This is the embodiment of the link Torment has with his wife. This is not an actual Soulmeld, but it takes up a slot simply because it is that important to him. This fuels the Soul Forge and if Kalie is in danger will warn him of such. The Visage of the Phoenix can react with this "Soulmeld." It manifests as a ring upon his finger and a flame in his eyes.
Soul Power Center: Soulspark Familiar Variant-Bound
This...is Shar. This Soulmeld has no practical purpose in combat, but it cannot be unshaped. Binding is possible for Torment, but not for Shar. Neither Brother can have their souls drained while this Soulmeld is shaped, and they can give off light (blue or red/green) depending on wich one is flesh and which is a Soulmeld. Torment helps maintain concentration and dispel distractions, allowing Shar to focus on his opponent, while Shar gives Torment on tips with fighting without magic. When also linked to the brow it offers 360 sight. If also bound to the brow it offers slight foresight.
