"I thank you, I've been practicing," she told him with a soft smile. She had, in actually, she's been speaking with the behavioral specialists on how to seem both confident and nonthreatening. It was a strange line to walk considering how she had been viewed in the past. But it seemed to be the best option for what she needed to do, and it was working.

"We were, but we've been through a number of tragedies in the past few years and well, things have gotten a little scattered," she admitted. It wasn't something she was proud of, but with everyone so focused on their own research it was difficult to get any sort of a consensus on what was going on. "We're working on it though, and on attracting new members," she added, "If you might know anyone who's interested in being able to focus on concentrated research."

Waya nodded along as she spoke, taking in her words carefully. "Oh, I see." He said quietly as she mentioned practicing behavior. That seemed strange to him as well, but only until she mentioned the part about concentrated research. So that's what they did, they researched everything? This idea appealed to Waya strongly, and he instantly became even more intrigued than he already had been. It seemed like an incredible opportunity for knowledge, and he was curious about their history and their names. Where they came from, what they meant, why they did what they were doing...All prides had these answers in such unique forms from each other, and it was Waya's joy in life when he wasn't wondering about other things to learn and teach names and stories.

"That's very unfortunate, my apologies..." He trailed off, thinking about what kind of tragedies she could possibly be speaking of. She seemed a fairly open creature, and he felt that it would be okay of him to ask, so he went ahead. "What kind of tragedy do you speak of? I have seen my share of tragedy in this life..." He again trailed off, looking to her with slight sadness in his eyes. "I would love to see where you live and some of your research." He added after with another big smile. "I don't know that I could stay and help much, but yes, I would very much like to experience it."

"There was a sickness," she began, "Well, it takes quite a while to tell, and the Uzima’elimu know much more about it than I ever could. If you wish to stay with us, perhaps they could explain. It's how I am the way I am though, with my vision, and my paws." With that she lifted a paw in the air to demonstrate the tremor. "But I survived. Many didn't."

He would love to see, well she would love to have him and others like him, though she wasn't sure how many would agree with her. Pulling herself to her feet she nodded, "I think that would be enlightening for both parties, though I'll have to discuss it with the others. How about you meet me here again at the next full moon?"

His soft eyes contemplated the female carefully as she lifted her paw, and he watched as it trembled. He honestly hadn't thought that there was anything wrong with her vision, though now that he thought back on it, the way she had tilted her head to see him better and those little things. Well, she seemed alright, and at that she was indeed very lucky to have survived. He wondered if there was anything he might be able to do, on purpose or not- that could help her get better still. Maybe sharing what he knew with her would help her somehow...He was very pleased at the offer to return and to visit her home.

"Oh yes, yes sure. That would be great, whatever is convenient for you and your kin." He nodded happily. "Yes, take your time and such. I may not stick around here, but I assure you I will be back if that is when you wish to meet me." Waya nodded to her again, his tail swishing away behind him in his excitement. He pushed himself to a standing position and smiled his biggest smile yet at her.

"I suppose I 'ought depart and find myself a place to drink and sleep. Assuming you're not far from home, ma'am." He said as he shook himself again, his brushy mane falling in front of his face before he gave it a little toss to the side. "You take care while we're apart, and I am very looking forward to meeting you again, miss Margulis." He smiled, and with that he felt that was enough closure for a first meeting.

Waya had of course been telling the truth, he was quite looking forward to their next meeting, and he was satisfied to be leaving this situation feeling fulfilled and content. There was something special she had to share with him, likely many things, and the poor old lion was dying to know what she was all about.

-FIN! (I think...unless Dul wants to add something else! xD) <3
