Clarice looked at the girl and shock her head, her breathing uneven.
" I'm not here by choice, I was searching the rubble when I bumped into something, next thing I know im here. If you can just get me to a relay ill be out of your hair."
Clarice said her left arm now holding her ribs.

Tzen eyed the woman suspiciously, "Relay? I don't know what you're talking about, do I look like a Technomancer to you?", she snapped, somewhat taking out her aggression from the Colonel on the stranger. Tzen sighed deeply, "Apologies, mon amie. The Colonel can sometimes get under my skin and it makes me irritable. I may be able to point you to someone who may know what you're looking for, but I think you should come with me to the med bay first.", the Lt. Colonel said, her tone lightening but sounding tired.

Tzen'Tenza keyed the door to the command center open, escorting the stranger into the lift elevator. "I don't know about Astral Space travel, but if you're looking for a piece of advanced tech, you'd better talk to 'Magus Epsilon'. But first, we need to get you looked at.", she said as the elevator door closed, hissing as it seals shut behind them. As Firin was eating with Epsilon in the mess, the hissing sound of opening blast doors filled the air, drawing the Soldat's attention to the door as Colonel Parallax stood in the open doorway with his hands behind his back. "Colonel on deck!", a Soldat's voice shouted as the entire mass of soldiers stood with a Kehjani salute, Firin being the only one not standing. Parallax strode slowly through the mess hall, his electronic gaze fixed on the Bel'tha'gian Captain. Epsilon gave a silent gesture for Firin to stand, the young Captain standing as the Colonel reaches the edge of their table. "So. This is Captain Rai?", the Colonel's synthetic voice said slowly, his expression blank and cold. Firin looking into the Colonel's emotionless stare, feeling somewhat uneasy, "Yes, sir. I am Firin'Rai, Captain of the Bel'tha'gian military.", Firin responded, maintaining a calm tone despite talking to the man who holds Alpha's leash. Parallax looked into Firin's eyes with his electronic gaze, scanning the Captain's brainwaves before a half smile appeared on the Colonel's face, "And it has manners? How fortuitous, these ingrates can learn a thing or two from you...present company excluded Epsilon.", the Colonel said aloud, as if addressing the Soldat's instead of Firin. Parallax turned on his heel and began walking back to the mess hall blast door, stopping to look back at Firin momentarily, "Well? Come on then, we have much to discuss about your future, boy.", the Colonel said as Firin began to follow, looking at Epsilon as the Technomancer gave him a reassuring nod. As the Colonel and Firin were leaving, 'Fireheart' spoke up, planting his hands firmly on his table, "Sir! Begging your pardon, but you can NOT be serious!?", the Squad Sergeant called out. Parallax stopped, standing with his back to the lesser soldier. 'Fireheart' strode across the mess as if it were on fire, shoving Firin aside to stand behind his Colonel, "This...CHILD...is the enemy! How can you praise him like he were one of us?!", the Sergeant protested. Parallax groaned with an annoyed sigh, turning to give a fierce glare to his subordinate, prompting the Sergeant to take a step back, "You dare question my motives?", the Colonel said slowly, with a distorted calm tone. 'Fireheart' felt a wave of fear from his Colonel's sharp glare, "N..No, sir. I'm simply suggesting...", he began before the Colonel stepped closer, freezing the Soldat with fear. "That is your problem, 'Fireheart'...you suggest too much. You assume too much. Don't think for a moment that you are worth the time of day to even breathe in my direction, let alone question my orders. Insubordination will NOT be tolerated from ANY soldier under my control, and every man in this room must learn why.", Parallax said, his calm tone darkening as his synthetic voice crackles. The Colonel reached out with one hand, tapping the Sergeant's coat control gem several times in what seems like Morse code. "S..sir?!", 'Fireheart' blurted as he staggered back, his control gem flashing rapidly before becoming dim once more as nothing happened. "Come, Mr. Rai. We have much to discuss...", Parallax said, his tone evening out as Firin followed the Colonel out of the mess hall. 'Fireheart' stumbled back and sat at his table, a cold sweat on his brow as his heart thumps rapidly. The Sergeant looked over to another Soldat, "What do you suppose...", he began before an electronic voice with a pleasant female tone echoed out of his control gem, "Kappa Iota Alpha sequence engaged. Initiating destruction in 5...", the voice chimed as 'Fireheart's eyes went wide. "No!!!", he shouted as he tried to remove his tech coat, the microscopic wires within it's circuits digging into the Sergeant's flesh to anchor itself to him, "4". The Soldat's surrounding the Sergeant all began to back away in fear, leaving the man alone in the center of the room as the rest backed up to the walls, "3". 'Fireheart' frantically tugged at his control gem, attempting to disconnect it, "Don't just stand there!! Help me!", he roared, his own subordinates shaking their heads and backing away, "2". The Sergeant quickly drew his pistol, with no other options aiming it at his own head, "I won't be KIA!!!", he shouted as he pulled the trigger, "1". A click echoed around the mess as the Sergeant attempted to shoot himself, the telltale sound of an empty clip, "...no...", he whispered before the control gem flashed bright red then became a lusterless black. The energy capacitors built into the coat began to hum as it rerouted all power to the control gem, converting to negative energy and acting like a controlled singularity. The intense gravity pulled inward on the Sergeant, his cries of anguish backed by the sound of snapping bones as blood is forced through the man's pores. 'Fireheart' twisted and contorted as the inward gravity crushed his body with enough force to turn a coal into a diamond and then to dust, leaving the Sergeant's corpse broken and bloody on the mess hall floor as the rest of the Soldat's stared on in shock and fear.

Tzen looked away from the floor indicator in the lift elevator to the stranger, "Easy there, we're almost to B10.", she said, as the indicator changed to B13. After a few moments, the indicator flashed to B10 and the blast doors began to hiss open. As the doors slid opened, Tzen was surprised to see Colonel Parallax and Firin'Rai walk past the elevator. The Colonel ignored the Lt.Colonel and the stranger as he walked but Firin stopped to peer into the elevator, noticing the stranger. "You look...familiar.", he said, as Tzen assisted her off the lift into the hall. Parallax stopped his walk, keeping his gaze forward, "Come, come. We haven't time for distractions.", the Colonel said in his chilling monotone. Firin looked to the Colonel, "Ok, but first I have to know something. What does this war you started have to do with Aegalore? That's the whole reason I'm here.", he said firmly. Parallax looked over his shoulder, his electronic eye giving a sharp look to the young Captain, "In due time. I'll explain everything to you once we reach the indoctrination chamber.", he said calmly. Firin cocked his head, "Indoctrination?", the Captain asked as he gave one last glance to Tzen and the stranger before following after Parallax. The Colonel chuckled in amusement as he began walking again, "Of course. If you're going to fight with us, then you must become one of us. Protocol for all Soldats, and Technomancers. I must confess, I am the one who ordered Epsilon to interrogate...I mean, question you. I know about your arcane heritage, and I know that it lies dormant within you. This indoctrination will release it, making you a prime Technomancer. But more on that after the procedure.", the Colonel explained, "Lt. Colonel! Once you are done messing around with the intruder, meet us in Indoctrination Chamber 7.", Parallax called down the hall as he led Firin around a corner, the keypad blast door opening for Parallax from the Colonel's glance alone.

Clarice followed but stopped when she heard indoctrination.
”indoctrination! Are you crazy! The reapers must be here! Go run kid, youll lose your self if they indoctrinate you, you'll be there puppet!”
Clarice said sliding to the ground after using up the energy she was using to stand.

Firin looked back as the stranger called out to him, only to have the blast door slide closed before he could listen. "What was that about?", he asked, looking to the synthetic Colonel. Parallax kept walking, forcing Firin to catch up, "Pay no mind to her. She's obviously delusional from her injuries. No more questions, we have much to do if you desire your answers.", the Colonel said, his expression turning to a sly smirk as he walked ahead of Firin. Tzen knelt down to help the stranger up, placing the woman's arm over her shoulder to help her walk, "Are you insane? The Colonel is not one to be crossed, especially here. I'm sure where you're from, these 'Reapers' are a big problem but they do not exist here.", Tzen said as she began to move the stranger slowly down the opposite way that Parallax and Firin went, towards the medical wing, "Besides, there is nothing to be feared from Kehjani indoctrination. The Colonel has ordered all Soldats to have the procedure to make them less fearful and hesitant in battle under direct decree by Emporer Strom himself. I had the procedure when I enlisted and I still remember myself quite well.", she explained, with a slight lack of enthusiasm on her last sentence.

The sun crept along the sky as Rosa walked with Selene through the desert. "If I remember, it should be just over the next dune.", the vampire girl said, trudging up the shifting sands of the massive dune. Her memory had not failed her as the sight of Keh'Jan speared into the sky as she crested the hill, standing to look upon Keh'Jan on the horizon. "There it is, somewhere in that city lies the ASV. Firin has to be there somewhere as well, by Shar I hope he's alright. The Templar omens have never been wrong and I pray that they are this time.", she said, trying to mask her concern. As Rosa was about to descend the dune, a voice called out followed by the racking of what sounds like a shotgun, "Halt! State your business!", the voice said as the air in front of Selene and Rosa shimmered in a humanoid form, revealing a trio of Soldats. The center most Soldat held an Irok'Cael crystal shotgun with a Caelium stock leveled at Rosa, the two behind him aiming their Caelium pistols at Selene.

The shotgunner gave Selene a sharp glare before looking to Rosa, "Oh really? Then, I suppose, you won't mind if I check on the validity of your story.", the Soldat said with distrust in his tone, before looking to the Soldat behind and to the right of himself, gesturing to Rosa with his shotgun. The rightmost Soldat aimed his pistol to Rosa as the lead Soldat lowered his shotgun to key in a short sequence on his eyepiece. Glowing data in the Shadelandic script flashed across the eyepiece lens as the Soldat sifted through the rosters. The blue data turned blood red as it shifted to the next set of data, causing the Soldat's jaw to drop for a moment before looking back to Rosa with wide eyes, "A..Apologies, Sergeant Major, Ma'am. Forgive my ignorance, please proceed to the Main Gate Checkpoint with your subordinate.", he said nervously, as he stood aside to let them pass, gesturing to his own subordinates to lower their weapons. The two Soldats complied and stood out of the way, the three giving a short Kehjani salute. Rosa nodded and looked to Selene, "Let's go, Sergeant.", she said with authority, but giving Selene a relieved smile as they passed the Soldats. When the scouts were out of sight, Rosa looked to Selene, "Nice cover.", she said as they drew closer to Keh'Jan.

Parallax led Firin to a set of reinforced blast doors at the end of the hall, the heavy metal doors sliding open for the Colonel as if expecting him. The room looked like an operating room with a padded table situated in the center with several consoles surrounding it. "If you'd lay on the table, I'll begin your indoctrination.", Parallax said, walking over to a console to begin typing in the start up sequence. Firin stood firm, "First, you tell me what's going on with Aegalore.", he said, his tone slightly demanding as his patience wears thin. The Colonel didn't bother to look at Firin as he continued to enter sets and sets of data at an inhumanly rapid pace, "Well, I suppose I did say that I would tell you. I guess the charade is over.", Parallax said in his distorted German accent. Firin cocked his head, walking alongside the Colonel, "Charade? What's going on here?", he questioned. Parallax looked over at Firin, his electronic eye displaying streams of arcane data in it's reflective white iris, "I did not bring you here for Aegalore. Truth is we've lost contact with Aegalore after the Cosmic War, when our lands were first swept into the World Between Worlds.", the Colonel explained, an angered expression appearing on Firin's face. The young Captain clenched his fists, feeling enraged about being misled, "Then why call me here?", he demanded. Parallax chuckled with amusement, turning to face Firin with a cold smirk, "Why? To become our ultimate weapon, of course. That, and for my own personal reasons. Let's test that memory of yours, shall we? Do you remember much of the civil war?", the Colonel said, the data within his eye flashing rapidly as the indoctrination chamber began to hum with power. Firin nodded slowly, "I remember volunteering to spearhead the assault on the Rapid Fire Ballistae, only to find that Keh'Jan was hiding cannons behind the dunes that the siege machines sat upon.", Firin said, sliding his right foot back to adopt a defensive stance, his fierce glare situated on Parallax. The Colonel gave a short, soft clap, "Very good. I remember that day vividly as well. I remember a young upstart pushing past the defensive line, and I remember this upstart's attempts to disable my artillery. But you just couldn't do it, could you? It was far above your primitive mind.", Parallax said, his synthetic tone crackling as his smirk became a dark grin. Firin stared heavilly at the Colonel for a moment before becoming wide eyed, "You? You were that soldier, the one who wielded the arcane forces.", Firin realized, remembering a near fatal battle with a Magus on the day of the assault. Parallax nodded, slowly walking toward Firin, "That I was, I'm surprised you remember. I was once Artillery Commander 'Magus ShardSwarm', but you took that away from me when you managed to tap into your full potential as I was about to end your pathetic existence. You completely fried my body, as well as using an electromagnetic field to disable our cannons.", the Colonel said darkly, standing mere inches from Firin. The young Captain narrowed his eyes, "I...don't remember that.", he said slowly. Parallax crossed his arms, glaring at Firin with his electronic eye, "Of course you don't. I could see it in your eyes when you went ballistic, your body was acting but you were not in control. Call it a Mystic Reflex.", the Colonel explained. Firin brought his fists up defensively, "And now you think I'll willingly help you? You're insane!", he shouted. The Colonel chuckled again, "Oh, my apologies. I wasn't aware that I was giving you a choice. I see that you wear Kehjani tech, but you don't truly "wear" it. Here, let me assist...", Parallax said as his eye flashed bright blue, lines of data encircling his iris as Firin's coat control gem flashed with the same data. The microscopic wires within the coat speared into Firin's wrists and spine, linking with his mind and body. Firin let out a pained groan as the coat attached itself to him, "What...? What are you doing?!", he demanded, trying to pull the coat off with no luck. "A Kehjani's tech is not merely a tool to be used, rather a part of his very body. It melds with your nervous system and brain stem, allowing a true Kehjani to experience their full potential in combat. Now, if you'd be so kind as to lie down on the table so we may proceed...Don't worry, I'll see to it that this 'Firin' persona disappears forever.", Parallax said menacingly. Firin's body began to move as if being directed by the tech, walking him to the table as he struggles against it, "You won't get away with this! You'll be defeated, just like before!", Firin roared, as his body laid itself down on the operating table. Parallax held his hands out like a maestro, calling several florescent blue wires from the ceiling to connect to various parts of Firin's coat, digging deep into his skin. The young Captain could feel his consciousness slipping as the room begins to grow dark, "Oh, I highly doubt that. Do not fret, when you awaken this will all seem like a bad dream.", Parallax's voice echoed as Firin lost consciousness.

The med bay blast doors hissed open as Tzen helped the stranger inside. A Kehjani doctor stood by a console, sorting through patient records as the Lt. Colonel sat the injured woman on the operating table, "Hello, doctor.", she said, straightening her coat and standing with her hands behind her back. The doctor turned his head, Tzen's face reflected in his medical goggles, "Ah, frau Tenza. Welkommen.", the doctor said with a frightening enthusiasm, his goggled gaze turning to the stranger, "Oh, you have brought me ein patient? Wunderbar!", he said with a grin. Tzen manages to keep a calm demeanor as the crazed doctor walks over to the stranger, his white coat bearing long standing blood stains. "Um...oui, mon doctor. She has major injuries that need treated, s'il vous plait.", the Lt. Colonel said, almost regretting bringing the strange woman to this particular Kehjani doctor. The doctor clapped excitedly, "Wunderbar, well then. If you'd be so kind as to give our guest some privacy, frau Tenza.", the doctor said through his grin, slamming his palm down on a large blue button situated on his console, causing the table to tilt from a horizontal position to a 45 degree angle. Tzen breathed deep, remembering her many times within this very medical ward, "Oui, mon doctor. The Colonel has requested my presence in Indoctrination Chamber 7. If you would, send for me when she is on her feet, and please...no extra additions to this one.", Tzen said firmly, seeing the crazed expression on the doctors face as he inspected the woman. "Ja, ja. No extra parts, just a simple procedure...this time. Oh, and please, give Herr Parallax my best, would you dear?", the doctor said as he retrieved several tools from a bedside table. Tzen'Tenza said nothing more to the doctor, but simply nodded as she turned on her heel to exit the medical ward.
