Nuzzling up against her parents and Siblings, Vaniania laid down, sliding along her mother's side as she gave a petite little yawn, exhausted from her efforts in the escape from her basket, still too full to nurse from the enchantments of the basket.

She chirped curiously over to the mare still keeping her distance, resting her chin across one of her sister's back. She was curious, but too tired to climb from the nest and find her way over to the mare.

Given permission and letting the parents bond, Risuleri finally stood up from her spot, moving closer to the nest to peer at them, looking filly to filly, "...Vanwyn.." She repeated the name a few times, smiling fondly at the little filly, knowing she'd grow so much in a short period of time before repeating the process with the other two, "Vanwyn, Vaniania, and Vanmoriel. You've truly been blessed by the Great Mother and the spirits to have such three beautiful children, especially all daughters, Vanya."

She teasingly gave Taarab a playful n** flirting playfully, "But then the spirits seem to favor you children as well. Perhaps I should see if you'd help me with even just one little colt or filly of my own."

(ooc: I think we've hit a point where having the Oracle and priestess come would work, then once we get to a good time transitional point we can turn it into an Open-to-mares open RP so they can be introduced to everyone. o3o)

User ImageThe Oracle had taken a temporary residence in the priestess quarters where she awaited the arrival of the newest foals into the Flock. In a quiet corner of her area, she had lowered her body to the ground. Her eyes were closed as she quietly conversed with the spirits. Her coat would ripple randomly as an insect would land and take off again, but other than these random movements, she was perfectly still. The spirits whispered to her, and she smiled in response, nothing more.

It would be a celebration for the sisters, the arrival of new foals was always a joy. The new offspring would mean their legacies would continue on, and their history would not be erased from the world around them. Aylin was particularly interested in the current offspring, they were the newest members that were sired by her personal pet. Aylin was sure that Laveda's readings of these children would be that of great futures. Between the flock sister that was the mother, and the stallion that had been chosen, these foals has the genes to become flock treasures.

Flying through the incense clouded caves of the priestesses, the harpy eagle looked around, trying to see if she could spot the familiar blue and purple of Laveda, though hoping in her heart that the oracle would have arrived - she trusted the young priestess, as she had been trained from the point she first showed skill, but she had just become an adult and would need guidance. Many of the other priestesses were no more experienced than she was, and temple maidens mainly focused on a specific skill and setting to make sure the temple areas and sacred places were well kept and to secure the privacy of priestess and oracle's more secret ceremonies from curious onlookers.

She let out a sigh of relief as, instead of Laveda, she first spotted the Oracle herself, mediating, and landed heavily on a stalagmite, claws scratching on its soft limestone surface, "Oracle Aylin." She gave a polite bow, wings spreading as she closed her brilliant green eyes respectfully, before lifting her gaze, "It is time."

User ImageWith a deep exhale, the Oracle's golden eyes opened at the sound of the familiar voice, "Thank you, Yaotl." she cast a friendly smile to the messenger. "Tell me, what did the Spirits grace us with?" she was curious as to the gender count of the newly arrived.

Slowly, she rose to her feet as she looked around for Laveda. This was to be Laveda's first time reading new foals, Aylin was confident that her daughter's abilities would one day match her own.

She gave a gentle chirp for her daughter, not wanting to disturb the others that may be in studies or tending to duties. She began making her way to the exit where she would wait for Laveda.

Laveda had been meditating further back in the caves, sitting in a fabric enclosed section of the cave cleansing herself with a smudge of sage and washing herself with cold water brought from one of the cave springs and scented with flowerpetals in front of one of the alters to the Great Mother, a habit she took each morning, but one she held with a nervous edge since her mothers arrival. She knew there were some baskets nearing the end of their wait, the fading enchantment making the lids seals weaken with a pop. And her mother would be bringing her through all of them, guiding her through the reading of them before she would travel from the safety of the flock to spend some time getting intense training from her mother as a possible future replacement should something happen to her or she choose to retire.

She wanted to make her mother proud, and not waste either of their time should her gift be a mistake. Just recently indoctrinated in the priestesses order as one of their own rather than just an acolyte, but was still a lower order priestess, Laveda felt she had a lot to live up to and prove that she was picked to train for periods in the ancestral lands by the oracle herself for her own gift of Empathy, observation, and spiritual sensitivity that showed the makings of a priestess that had the capabilities of becoming an Oracle with the proper ceremony rather than for simply being Aylin's daughter.

Her heart caught in her throat as she heard Yaotl's voice -- If the harpy eagle was there, that meant the first of the few foals they'd 'read' were to be her own sire's, and she made a quick prayer to their matron goddess before setting the smudge stick back out and feeding the spent water into a nearby pot full of sacred herbs that had been brought in for the night and kept by the alter so pests could not destroy them in the night before joining her mother. "Moth-Oracle Aylin. Yaotl."

"Priestess Laveda." The messenger bowed her head respectfully, her feathers ruffling a bit as she settled in, her cheeks rising slightly at the corner of her hardened beak in a subtle embarrassed smile, glancing down as she felt she didn't do a very good job as a messenger, "I... I am afraid that I left before the foals could venture from their baskets, so I cannot bring word of their genders. I would have been here sooner, but I had to find which cave you two had taken to from the priestesses setting up the Oracle's greeting tent. I can announce your arrival and return to you with the genders before you arrive in their cave. They aren't too far from here, I just... Flew to the main nesting ground in my excitement instead of here."

User ImageAylin stood quietly as Laveda made her way to the exit of the cave, as she neared, Aylin couldn't help but to smile. "You are worried," it took no connection to the spirits to read the hiding expression on her daughter's face. "You have been blessed, Laveda. I will guide you, and you will do just fine. Deep breaths, you must not show doubt in yourself." Gently, she nosed a few stray feathers of her daughter's mane back into place.

Her attention turned back to the messenger as Yaotl spoke, "Oh, Yaotl, do calm yourself. We will all find out soon enough." The Oracle had taken quite a liking to the lady hawk. Over the months that had past, Yaotl often brought news from the Flock, and updates on Aylin's chosen stallion and their son, Sulo. "Please, return and let them know that you have called for us and that we will be there in a few moments." she bobbed her head slightly.

Her head turned, looking once again to Laveda. "Come. It is time to make your appearance." Aylin turned to a pile of sage sticks that had been gathered for their inventory and took a few in her mouth. Once they arrived to greet the new family, the ceremony would begin by saging the area to ward of evil spirits that may be lurking.

Vanwyn let out another lovely chirp. She could hear her name being spoken by the colorful female. Her ears perked up, and she slowly, and carefully stood up on four wobbly legs. The filly wasn't used to standing. It was an odd sensation, and for a moment, she wasn't sure if she liked it. Frowning at her clawed feet, she lifted one of them to inspect it curiously. Was this really attached to her body? She placed the limb down, before trying to make a move forward, and lost her footing, ending up falling down on her rump, head ducked down in a child like embarrassment. Letting out a whinny of distress, she looked back of her shoulder toward her mother, tears already collected in those brilliant sea green eyes.

The filly was uncertain about her feet. Vanwyn didn't like it at all. She would much rather crawl back to her mother and curl up against her side. Though she didn' want to go to sleep, due to sleeping a lot while in that wicker prison, she did want to get more familiar with everything around her. Vanwyn's eyes locked on her siblings, blinking at them. So they were younger than she was. She let out a chirp of reassurance toward them, hoping that they weren't as scared as she was. She was the eldest. She needed to protect them, right? Right! Nodding her head easily, the filly stood up once more, her legs wiggling again, and made her way slowly toward her youngest sibling, Vanmoriel. She nudged her sister gently against the neck, smiling toward her and let out happy chirps and whinnies.

"Yes, Oracle Aylin" The Eagle bowed deep from her perch, crest lifting, before she spread her wings and took off, sweeping out around the bend through the bright light of the cave opening, over the sagging leather strung across the opening to create an air of privacy in the private quarters of the priestesses.

----------

Yaotl let out a cry before entering the cave of nests belonging to the clique of dancers and their harem, landing on her specially made perch of rawhide wrapped around a roll of wicker, part of a small deadwood tree made from one of the thick roots gnarls of a massive fallen tree that had been discovered in their territory , carved and shaped in a trade between Taarab and one of the more skilled wood workers to create a hallow for her own nest so the messenger could have a place to rest and call her own, "The Oracle and Priestess Laveda are on their way.." She craned her neck curiously, wanting a closer look at the children, especially the eldest as she chirped and whinnied, wobbling about the nest. As it was he heart was soaring -- Three daughters, a truly lucky breeding for the Flock!

Laveda nodded once, though she wasn't sure if she was the one blind spot in her mother's eyes, but relaxed none the less, not only finding solace in the Oracle's assured stance on the matter, but also in her mother's comforting words and actions. Her smile warmed at her mothers affectionate nibble, "Here Mother, let me get that for you.."

Scooping up one of the woven bags given to the priestesses by the artisan guild, she carefully collected a few of the items in an efficient manor, bits already set in bags. Carefully, as a final step, she unwrapped the glittering dull gold piece of iron pyrite, the lumps of shiny cubes, set with a specially knapped piece of flint, and did a ceremonial strike between the two sacred stones, creating a hot, flashy spark. With a bow of her head and a content smile, she rewrapped the stones and set them delicately on top of the bag, draping the strap over her neck and shoulder so she could carry all the material's with ease and security.

"The spirit still reside within the sacred firestone, and there have been no ill omens. And the first of the season are those of your chosen pet and my Sire." She smiled, nuzzling against her mothers cheek, trying to put what her instinct was telling her into words. "This Late Spring foal tour is starting off with a favorable outlook... I'll show you to their Cave."

User ImageStepping back, she allowed Laveda to take the supplies and take the lead towards the gathering. She had always enjoyed readings, especially when those of great talents were born. She took to soft chanting as they walked along. She knew that she spirits were already with them, but she asked for clear messages to her daughter on her first event as the possible future oracle.

After only a short journey, Aylin's ears flickered as she could hear the near by voices filled with excitement and joy. "Laveda, let us leave the supplies just outside. We do not want to clutter the festivities with our items." she spoke softly. "We'll take the sage sticks in first. Once we say our hello's, we'll begin with saging, yes?"

She paused, laughing a little. "Forgive me," she shook her head just briefly, "It is hard to step back from being the one in control when you have done it for so long. How would YOU like to start?"

Vanya finished preening Vanmoriel and leaned down to Vaniania who was sitting by her side and began to pull the knots from her mane ad straighten out her feathers. Being cramped inside the baskets had made them frizzy and squished. No matter; preening was something Vanya was an expert at and it wouldn't take her long at all.

A flutter of wings caught Vanya's attention and she spat out a broken feather before looking up at Yaotl. The Oracle was on her way.. Vanya was nervous. Three girls was a blessing; but would they be good enough? Would the Oracle think them unworthy? Of course, she was over-reacting but no one could read her thoughts and set her straight. She continued preening Vaniania, chirruping and nuzzling at the girl.

When she was done, she pulled Vanwyn to her and began to do the same. They were all getting along so wonderfully and she smiled, pleased. This had been worth the wait. Surrounded by her best friend and her family; nothing could make this moment more perfect or make her more happy than she was right now. She grinned and continued cleaning Vanwyn, nuzzling her cheek against the foal's.

"They're so perfect," she whispered, more to herself than anyone else. "Taarab, can you place the fruit Eryi collected in the center? Best we offer something to the Oracle and Priestess Laveda."

Vanya eyed the baskets and wondered if perhaps she would be able to keep them and use them to craft items for her children. Or even for herself, to remember them as foals when they're older. "And is it okay to move the baskets? The cave suddenly seemed so small and Vanya felt a little trapped. She shouldn't be this nervous, but she couldn't help it. It was a big day. "They'll be here soon."

Vanmoriel shook her head when her mother was done, shaking out her mane and feathers. She heard a tinkle and reached up to touch something small and cold. What was it? Was it the same thing her mother had? She shook her head again and chirped at the sound, enjoying it. Flopping onto Vanwyn's back, she nibbled on her sister's ear before her mother seperated them and began to put Vanwyn through the same treatment Vanmoriel and Vaniania had just endured.

Vanmoriel had watched in awe as Vanwyn moved on her legs and wanted to try herself. She stood up and tried to bound forward quickly, only to fall down and tumble. Moving slower, she eyed her father and shakily wobbled a few steps towards him only to fall and tumble the rest of the way. She looked up at him and grinned, chirping and rolling around him, nibbling at his legs.

Who will be here soon? Were they meeting new people. Vanmoriel sat up, her butt wiggling in excitement. She wondered who was coming next; what they would be like. She turned her attention to the other female. Her scent was familiar; she remembered smelling it when she was inside her basket. But it wasn't the same as her mother or father's. She chirped at her, trying to get her attention so she could know more.

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Laveda ducked her head under the low overhanging roof of the cave entrance, noting that they had yet to take the time and manpower to open up the entrance for easier access, though the brambles of thorny vines that had hidden the entrance had been cleared out to make a nice open place sunning themselves and airing out washed blankets. The lower opening was easy enough to get through however, just requiring a bowing of the head, and wide enough that a winged soquili could get in, but it was easily defensible -- perhaps they should discuss with them about possibly having their nesting cave into one of the designated place to take shelter in in times of war, being close enough to the nursery and temples to be within an easily defended area.

Lifting her head once she got past the low roofed 'hallway' entrance of the cave, Laveda smiled as she saw the group gathered around a section of the cave, still being set up. Stone lamps with dollops of tallow and cattail fluff flickered and a small hearth fire burned in the open floor. Natural light flickered in through a narrow, deep hole in the limestone, though it was still dim compared to the brilliant light of outside.

Bowing to Vanya, Laveda stepped out to allow Aylin to join her and look around the dwelling, still not fully set up, but spacious enough for the artisans that had been invited to stay within it, even if those who were closest to the mother current were the only ones there, crowded together in one area of the tent. Not one for the pomp and pageantry of many of the other priestesses, preferring to get to the heart and meat of the greeting, Laveda walked up towards the next, "Good morning, Vanya, and to you as well Sister Earthstrike." Her attention turned to her father and she shifted with an edge of uncertainty of how she should respond as fully fledged adult and young priestess, "... Morning father. I doubt Oracle Aylin needs an introduction."

Taarab smiled fondly at his daughter, proud to see her there and knowing her reason for being there. He stood up and bowed individually to both, giving his daughter an equally low and respectful bow before stepping away to give them the room to work, "May the blessings of the Great mother find you well this morning, Priestess Laveda and Oracle Aylin."

Emboldened by and pleased with how adult her father treated her, the young priestess nodded in acknowledgement before looking at the three children, her smile warming slightly as she chuckled softly, looking over at her mother, "I'm pleased to state that we have three new young sisters joining our ranks... I'll get started with the purifying during your greetings."

Trying to hold back a chuckle, Taarab smiled slightly -- Laveda was as efficient and driven as always.
