Rufus spent the wedding and reception making the right motions whilst watching his husband and that stable lad. He couldn't put his finger on what they were hiding, which bugged him: none of the 'bride's friends had shown up either, and unless all the dowry had been sent to his father... something wasn't quite right.

Either way, his husband would not be allowed to dally with a younger man in Rufus' kingdom.

Therefore when Akito rushed over to warn that Meme ought to go to bed soon - Rufus had watched as Meme drunk way too much and allowed it as this was a special day - the prince simply shrugged.

"You shall see my husband to the room beside mine. There is a very comfortable bed and even a small bell should he need anything. Good night: I must see my guests out."

He turned on his heel and went to find Kuro. Briefly, he leant close to his ear. "Follow them and watch. I want to know their secrets..."
Without a backward glance, he circulated to wish the guests adieu and explain Meme's absence.

Akito stared at Rufus' retreating back incredulously as he held up his friend.
What a b*****d! What's his game? Doesn't Meme mean anything to him?

Nonetheless, it was clear the prince wanted them gone, so he started to help Meme towards the stairs. "Lean on me, and we'll talk when we get to your room, alright?"

** Meme Pear **
Meme couldn't help himself, the alcohol was quickly getting to his head and making him giggle at just about everything. He was constantly getting dizzy and tripping over himself as well. Meme eventually stumbled over to Akito but managed to keep himself from falling on top of the boy. "You know...you're alot shorter den me.....AND I'M THE ONE WHO GOT MARRIED FIRST!!!" he yelled happily before he started giggling again. Meme's cheeks burned bright red as he was escorted to his bedroom. "My room?? I HAVE A ROOM HERE!? Wooooww....I wonder if it's as big as the Prince's room.....You know this place has such.....prrreeeeetttyyyy colors...." he said as he looked around, nearly falling on his face as they climbed the stairs. "Hey I'm thirsty...where's that yummy brown stuff in the fancy bottle?" he asked when they finally got to the room.

Kuro was standing by, watching the festivities while keeping his composure while everyone was having fun, but he didn't miss Rufus' orders. He nodded sharply and followed the two boys up to the bride's bedroom. It helped that the door was left slightly open, just enough for sound to spill into the hallway. Kuro put his back against the wall near the cracked door and listened intently as he was told. He too was curious about the boys.

"No more fancy bottles for you, Meme. And you may have gotten married first, but I don't envy you - your husband is a careless of you, which a normal man would not be when he just got married and his new partner can't stand.

No, Meme, I'm not envious. But you can't go around yelling like that - you won't survive in a castle long with that sort of attitude. You'll embarrass him, despite how he's shamed himself by being indifferent to his husband on their wedding night.

That's another thing! Why the seperate rooms? It's your wedding night, Meme! You ought to march into his room the minute he comes up those stairs. He said there was an adjoining door somewhere..."

As he ranted, he was supporting Meme to the bed and helping him off with his shoes and socks - his shirt would be as far as he went. Meme and he were no longer boys, and besides, Meme was married.
Undressing him was Prince Rufus' job.

Meme smiled and laid down on the bed face down. "Oh my gosh....this bed is sooooooooooooooo soft!!!!" he squealed happily, turning onto his back so he could see Akito this time and listen to him. "Yeah I know.....but I had to find out if he really really really really really wanted this marriage or if he's just doing what his daddy told him to do.....Oh well! Even if he wanted to divorce me, the King probably wouldn't let him...so he's stuck wif me!!!" he giggled, looking around the room a bit until he saw a closed door and pointed to it, but didn't say anything for a few minutes as the words he was going to speak quickly fled his mind. Then he got up and wobbled over to the door, opening it easily and staring into the room. "WHOA!!!!! AKITO YOU SHOULD COME SEE THIS! IT'S LIKE A WHOLE NEW WORLD!!" He yelled, going into the room and flopping on that bed as well. "Heeeeeeyy this bed is soft too....It's the softest bed in the world!!" he said happily, rolling around on it for a bit. It was quite obvious that Meme was a bit too drunk to pay attention to what Akito was saying much longer.

Kuro continued to listen, the two didn't seem to be having an affair together, but there was still something very fishy about the two of them being here, he just couldn't put his finger on it. When Meme entered the Prince's room, Kuro decided that there wasn't much left to listen in on and left the hallway to find the Prince to inform him of his latest findings.

"Meme! Get back - nevermind. Not as if you're in some random guest's room. I'll just let Prince Rufus, your husband come back and sort you out then!" He strode to Meme's side and bent to whisper into his ear.

"But keep your mouth shut when he gets here, alright? I don't know what you might say when drunk!"

With that he left, going to his place in the stables.

Meme grinned a bit. "Don't worry! Not a peep outta me!" he whispered back, latching onto a pillow and rolling around with it for a bit before he decided to do some exploring around the room. He let the pillow go and started looking through the Prince's drawers, wondering if the young man had any secrets he was hiding but there was nothing but clothes in the drawers. "Hm..." he grumbled, looking over at the wall next to him and seeing a large door with a bunch of windows on it and two handles. "Thas funny...windows don't have handles." he mumbled to himself, going over to it and opening the large doors to reveal a nice spacey balcony. He smiled and went over to the railing, resting his head it as he looked out.

Rufus entered his room, weary after the party. Since he'd had the report that told him Meme had been put in his room, he expected his own to be empty.
After a moment though, he became aware that he was not alone and his eyes went to the balcony.

With a curse, he ran to Meme's side and grasped his waist. "What are you doing?!"

Meme jumped and let out a surprised squeak when he was grasped from behind. He looked up at the tall Prince with wide eyes and smiled. "I'm just lookin outside! You have a cool window!" he said happily, slipping out of the Prince's grasp quickly and easily to take a running start for the large bed, jumping right on top of it and hugging the pillow once more. "Wasn't that a great reception?? We need to get more of that brown stuff in the fancy bottles!" he giggled, getting up once more and striding over to the Prince, nearly tripping on his way but managing to stay upright and tracing small shapes on the Prince's chest. "It is our wedding night, we should do something special.....after all that was in the plans and we wouldn't want to let the plan fail now do we?" he asked happily, resting his head against Rufus' chest gently.

Barely containing a growl, Rufus fought the urge to shake Meme as violently as possible.
The little idiotic Mousie is drunk, and hanging out my window - MY window! He could have fallen, and now he wants to talk about our wedding night?!
Not on his life!

Laying his hands on Meme's shoulders, he spun him with deliberate gentleness towards the bed. "When one's husband is in such a state and doesn't even understand what made him like this, or why it's happening - to have sex would be to take advantage.
Thus you will sleep in my room tonight and I will take the adjoining room. Knock if you need me, fair enough, but no more nonsense!"

Meme looked a bit sadly at the other. "But....It's our wedding night....." he said softly as he watched the Prince go into the other room. He sighed heavily and lay on the bed, eventually falling asleep. When the morning came he had a slight headache but nothing too severe. For a moment he had to figure out what happened last night but the memories quickly came back to him. He got out of bed and headed to the door that connected the two rooms to see if the Prince was there but he wasn't there. Confused, Meme exited the room and looked around, wondering where the Prince could be but then he smelled something yummy and followed the scent to the dining room to find breakfast on the table.

Rufus stroked the horse's neck once he had slipped to the ground. An early morning ride had proven just the thing to wake him up and clarify the situation with his new husband.

Requesting that both his horse and one suitable for Meme's size be saddled, he strode into the palace. Seeing Meme heading for the dining room, he smirked and followed.

Just as his husband reached the table, he snagged an arm around his waist. "Morning, husband..." he purred into Meme's ear.
"Are you still so eager to make our Wedding Night special?" he whispered.

Meme jumped when he felt someone wrap an arm around his waist and blushed a dark crimson when he felt the Prince's breath rush past his ear. "'Special?'" he asked softly, his mind blank from the sudden surprise of the Prince sneaking up on him and the embarrassment he felt burning his cheeks. "W-what happened last night? I can't remember most of it. I remember the big fancy bottles with brown stuff in it...but after that I don't remember much..." he groaned softly before his stomach reminded him that he still hadn't eaten. "U-um.....let me eat something first and sober up a bit more....." he said softly, grabbing a banana to start with.

Kuro had already been up, since his duties started at five am sharp and his duties were to instruct every employee of the household of their daily chores. The only thing Kuro really had to do was pick up the mail and newspaper when it came, answer the door, and attend to the Prince. Kuro came up to the entrance of the dining room and stopped, seeing the Prince and his newlywed Husband already enjoying their time alone. Kuro purposely cleared his throat and held out the newspaper and the mail. "Your messages Master Rayne. Also, I have made an appointment with the royal Tailor for Master Pear to be fitted for a suit, should the occasion arise that he would need one."

Rufus snorted. "Of course, the fancy bottles would be what you remember. You emptied several, so I'm told.
But do not worry, Meme: we did not sleep in the same bed."

A second later his butler turned up. Accepting the papers, Rufus motioned that they ought to walk a little away so they could talk.
"Thank you. But Meme is also a Rayne now - I married him, did I not? If I do not receive a thank-you, or a congratulations from my father, I shall be most displeased."

He watched Meme for a moment. "Kuro, please remove all bottles of wine, beer or other alcohol from Meme's reach. It could prove... embarrassing..." he murmured, out of any but Kuro Suji's hearing.

Meme walked further down the table to get some more breakfast when he heard something peculiar from behind a vase. He went over to it and smiled as he saw Akito. "Hi Akito! What are you doing behind a vase? You should have some breakfast too! Look at all the yummy things there are to eat!" he said, dragging Akito out to show him the spread of food, not paying much attention to Rayne or Kuro.

Kuro nodded and bowed appologetically. "My appologies Master Rayne, but if I refer to both of you as 'Master Rayne' your husband will get confused as to whom I'm speaking to. Shall I call you Master Rufus or your husband Master Meme?" he asked, nodding once more at the instructions to get rid of the alcohol within Meme's reach and sticking around to hear the answer to his question when he noticed Meme talking behind a vase. "Perhaps you should pay some attention to your husband." He suggested.

"Master Meme ought to be fine."
He glanced over his shoulder. "As long as they do not have the audacity to have an affair under my roof and my nose, I do not mind them being friends. He ought to have someone to befriend him..."

I am not sure I intend to do so, afterall...

"Meme! I was hidden for a reason!" he hissed, whipping the cap from his head with a flushed face as he awkwardly bowed in Rufus' general direction. "Meme... you need to get a look at his letters. I couldn't - the stable master was watching - but it might be from his real 'Bride'!" he whispered out the side of his mouth.
