TRYOUTS

Signs had been posted all over the Academy to sign up for Bruteball Tryouts. The Bruteball Team was not for the faint of heart, however, and a large disclaimer attended these flyers, and the signup sheet where it was attached to the bulletin board on the door to the room in the Clubhouse. For those that successfully managed to wrangle their way onto the team, there lay the promise of blood, sweat, and glory. For everyone else, mostly broken bones.

If you're monstrous enough to handle being on the team, sign up for tryouts and show up for prelims on XX October, XX11. There is a summer training schedule for all prospective team members.

The pup might not have known it, but he was about to make the worst mistake of the summer.

Jove happened to see the notice posted in several places, and he dashed excitedly to go sign his name on the list for tryouts. Unfortunately he skipped over most of the disclaimers that threatened personal injury, and only took note of the date he had to show up.

By the speed with which the ghoul mauled added her name to the sign up sheet freshly appended to the sports club door, it would seem as if she'd been waiting for this moment all her life. Indeed, the very idea of being allowed to tackle people freely left her vibrating with excitement.

None of those wussy hugs for this ghoul, though. No, tackling was strictly reserved for bone breaking. After all, it wasn't fun until somebody got hurt.

Bul had already tossed the skin around with Altair pre season when finals and exams were starting to kick their butts. Now that he'd managed to get that over with, and avoid walking around on crutches, the half beast was ready to get to the challenge. Even with his scars and bruises from Savage's 'deal with it' test, Bul wasn't going to miss tryouts FOR THE WORLD.

"Injuries sminjuries," the boil really did know a thing or two about them...

Quickly he signed his name down in hopes not to miss this opportunity.

Damien might have been a bit overzealous when he saw a new sport club had posted flyers all over the school. There was even one that was used as a wrapper for his jollymeal burger. Physically active Club, sports, running? Oh he was SO IN.

He didn't bother with second guessing the choice when he jot down his name on the tryout paper.

"..e...r...r...y...k," Herryk whispered to himself as he painstakingly spelled out his name on the Bruteball sign-up sheet. Leaning back the Draugr beamed at his slight accomplishment. This had been one of the reasons that Herryk had decided to attend Amityville. He only hoped he would get the rigorous training he so craved. Herryk ran his gaze over the sheet again, making sure he didn't miss anything. His eyes landed on the bit about listing his preferred position. He added a little something to the end of his name before turning away and jogging back to his dorm.

"Crushing."

Ah finally! The sphinx had been looking forward to this the entire trip to Amityville! Nefertari sauntered over to the sign up sheet and quickly put her own name down. She glanced over the list, wondering what other boils and ghouls had signed up for it. Most seemed to be boils with the happy exception of her dear cousin Caddy. Ah she so couldn't wait to play the game with her. It would be a total death experience!

Just like with Fitness Club, as soon as the valkyrie heard about Brute Ball, it was something she just had to be involved in. A chance to bash others around while in a competitive setting and where no one would hold back because she was a ghoul? Perfect.

Hel was just grinning from ear to ear as she signed the sheet, looking it over once more before marching away, humming merrily to herself.

Danny was excited as hell. So far she had yet to join a sport at Amityville (save for the fitness club? That wasn't really a sport), and sports were pretty much her life. Not to mention quite a few of her friends were signing up. How could she pass that up?

She jostled Hel a bit as she ran up to the sheet to sign her own bad self up. Honestly, Danny wasn't the biggest, beefiest person in the world. She was toned, but against Herryk? How was she supposed to contend with that?

If there was one thing Danny could pride herself on, it was being fast. She could probably get by on her speed, maybe.

One might say that Danny should've been a cheerleader with her obnoxiously energetic personality and her goofy looking smile that she wore everywhere. Those people would probably get punched. Danny was rough and tough. SHE WAS A MANLY WOMAN.

Well sort of. Danny signed her name and then handed the pen to the nearest person.

The day after tryouts, a list showed up randomly on the skulletin board, nothing fancy, a little torn and very crumpled, but definitely legible at least. It was also clear that while Nuk had written it, the scratch mark edits had been created by another pencil, one which, by the way the marking kind of jerked off the page in some places, had been fought over at times.

Oh well. At least there seemed to be a general consensus.

There will be no practice this week, due to tryouts, however, there will be a skirmish on Frightday the 9th at 10am EST -- being there will give you extra practice in teamwork (aka 1 stat point.)
