{ORP} Jasper's Coming of Age Party (KAMPAI!)

Seth was equally glad to see the kuppy Hyte. "Hey there!" Before he could say any more his ears swiveled around to a loud noise at the front door. The sound was soon followed by Missy bustling in, carrying what appeared to be more slippers and obi. He was vaguely amused by her proclaimed 'plight'. "Even if most come dressed for the party, I'm sure you will have plenty of opportunity for dressing others in the future," he remarked. After all, he was basically a dressing dummy for her when it came to matters on Phanes. Though perhaps she didn't like the limitations it gave. Who knew.

Front Door - Arriving

Jasper was nervous, but hid it well as he unpacked the rolling trunk full of his supplies. Things had grown so much from his original plan of a cocktail party to celebrate his career status. A discussion at HQ and some additional planning and now Kamiko and Dacj were throwing a party for him. Ok, it was a more general celebration now but his own coming of age had inspired it. He probably didn't even need to bring as much as he had since there was a great deal already provided.

He'd come dressed in a more formal version of his "uniform," though he knew there was a good chance Missy wouldn't allow that to stand for the full night. The mule laughed as he wondered what her preferred drink might be. Well inside were bottles to make some of the things that he considered his specialties, mostly classics and his mother favorites, as well as a premixed punch which would be going into a punch bowl complete with fruit. Hopefully it would be enough for a good night for everyone and no one would spike the punch which he intended to be for any clytes or younger hytes that might attend.

Everything was out and ready to roll; he turned to Dacj, who had driven him, with a smile of thanks and walked up to the door the trunk rolling behind him. "Well here we go," he said with a slight laugh trying to cover his nerves as he knocked.

((When it comes to drinks, figure so long as anyone requesting doesn't get too exotic Jasper probably can make it with what he has on hand.))

[Front Door - Arrival]

"It'll be fine," Dacj reassured him with a grin. She'd been looking forward to an excuse for a big party, and the fact that they were taking over Eli and Kamiko's place for it was even better. She'd been jumped by Melisande about a week ago and told what to wear, so it was the pre-approved geometrically patterned orange furisode she now wore, folded up many a time to give her tentacles more room to move, though the folds themselves were hidden under her scarlet obi.

At the knock on the door, Eli hurried to be a hospitable host, and smiled at the two waiting on the doorstep--well, to be honest, more at Jasper, he did try and avoid eyeing Dacj at close tentacle range. "Come on in~ Let us know if you need any help setting up, Jasper," the kuppy was quick to offer, waving them in.

"Moi had better," Melisande informed Seth with a sniff, but the new arrivals caught her attention. Dacj, dressed as instructed--good, very good. And Jasper...well, there was someone she wouldn't mind dressing up. She began to plot a plan of attack for later in the night when surely people would stop asking for drinks, so she could steal him away and get him properly attired for the theme. She nodded to herself; yet another sound plan...

"Oh, you're here already!" Dacj said to the cheetah Hyte, surprised to see Seth amongst the others, but she smiled--she'd been expecting to see him, after all, just maybe not this early. Then again, it was Seth...punctuality was definitely one of his virtues. "And Kamiko, you're putting the rest of us ladies to shame. Eli better be taking good care of you or I'll have to steal you away~" Her grin said the teasing was all in good fun, though one with a careful eye would note her kuppy brother's blanch at the mere implication. "Krypto, found a new calling?" As usual, the kraken was already flitting across the room as she greeted each person, happily in her social element.

"Bonjour Missy-san. We cleaned out the big closet near the door to make sure you had somewhere to store it all without making a clothing fort around you," she smiled at the pig Hyte, "Then no one could see your beauty of course."

Kamiko smiled as Eli answered the door to reveal the main guest of honor as well as Dacj. She hoped Eli would keep his cool around his sister, after all it wasn't a good party without ALL their friends. She went over to help Jasper set up his area around the bar, showing him where he could put things and were such items like ice and extra glasses were. Ok so she had taken his little party a bit farther than it should have but it was for a good reason! Its not everyday you became an adult!

"Don't be nevous Jasper," she whispered to him, "Everyone is so happy to see you all grown. And this gives you the best opportunity to learn their favorite drinks. And even learn a few new ones if they show you how to make them!"

Krypto smiled at Dacj and waved, despite having the dangerously sharp knife in his hand. "Yes Ms. Dacj! Ms. Kamiko said I could be the sushi chef since I can keep the fish and stuff cold! Can I offer you a roll?" Totally innocent, has no idea the implications of what he just said.

Kamiko giggled a bit at Dacj's statement to Eli. She put a hand to her forehead as if in swoon, "And goodness knows Dacj you could easily win me over with your feminine wiles, even against my will! How could I resist should Eli fail in romancing me properly!"

Seth was quite glad to see both of the newest arrivals. "Hello, Jasper, Dacj," he greeted with a smile. The cheetah Hyte was a bit amused at Dacj's surprised remark on his presence. Was he not meant to be? Though that wasn't nearly as amusing as Dacj's teasing with Kamiko and the kuppy's responding blanch. Eli's going to kill me, he thought to himself, despite the fact that he was not actually laughing aloud. Ah well, it was a party. Plenty of good feelings to go around, right? "Sounds like you have some competition, Eli," Seth remarked, trying to maintain an innocent expression.

"That is acceptable," Melisande told Kamiko, with the tiniest of sniffs. Of course, she would have to go finish getting ready before she could properly show off her ravishing beauty. "Well, if moi is not required, moi shall go freshen up~ Call if I am needed~" With a flounce of her hair, Melisande made for one of the large bathrooms open to the guests--well, specifically Eli's. She trusted the cosmetic supplies a little more in his than in Kamiko's bathroom, to be perfectly honest...

"I would love some sushi," Dacj said, though she kept clear of that waving sharp knife. No need to get a bit of tentacle accidentally added to the menu...actually, was there squid here? There had better not be squid as food. She might not throw as epic a hissy fit as Missy could about food made from pigs, but...those poor little cousins of hers! "I will trust your judgement as to what would be tastiest, Krypto."

She was also reminded why she loved Kamiko when the Shiba Inu played right along with her teasing. And even Seth joined the fray! Exceeellent. Well, maybe Eli was just too easy of a target. "Yes, my feminine wiles are quite extraordinary," she said solemnly, summoning up her best poker face lest she fall into giggles. "Alas, I confess I find myself rather occupied relationship-ly at the moment, but if ever you are in need of a good woo-ing, I will endeavor to come to your aid, my lady Kamiko."

Eli was very much not amused, and Seth was not helping. Dacj...well, she was always shameless. She didn't need Seth helping her. "Except for the part where she's busy already, apparently," Eli said dryly. "I think I can handle the romancing, thanks very much, you lot."

"We only tease because you make it so easy," Dacj chided, grinning, particularly at Seth. This was significant mostly because, despite the general good feelings of the party, Eli detected something very similar to another emotion-wave he'd felt echo recently...and it had come from Dacj? Well, they were both connected through Elti...it would merit some further investigation.

"It's only a joke, Eli," Seth replied with a smile. After all, based on Kitten's mere existence it didn't seem like anyone would be stealing Kamiko away any day soon. Of course, if he would learn how to play along then he might not be teased quite as much in the first place. "The fair Kamiko is yours only to woo. Ganbatte." Not like he wasn't already, but hey, it was an excuse to use Japanese at a Japanese-themed party. Why not. Perhaps later once more guests had arrived they could get a better look around the place and such.  

[Hytech - Felyse]

Felyse was excited about his Clyte brother's party. Wasn't every day that one of them grew up and got a job afterall! And he hoped one day he'd be able to join Jasper in having a career. He'd had to bug Myst quite a bit to get her out of bed so she could take him to the party like she promised, as she wanted to sleep all day. Myst had appropriately dressed the young Clyte for the occasion in green kimono and hakama.

Arriving at the door with his arms full of a bouquet of assorted flowers, he knocked on the door while smiling brightly. The bouquet had irises, hydrangeas, red and white poppies, and casablanca lilies. Felyse had been looking up flower meanings so he could choose just the right ones to give Jasper to celebrate.  

[Tygress Dream]

Jasper relaxed a bit as the door opened to a smiling kuppy. Maybe it was Eli's own nerves around Dacj's tentacles, but Jasper suddenly felt better. "Good to see you Eli. It's been such a long time. "I think I've got it all. What would be the best place to set up? I don't have much and the bottles can probably stay in the trunk. Mostly the punch bowl will take up the most space." He waved to Missy who looked to be plotting something just as he suspected.

"Once things get rolling I'll be fine," he replied to Kamiko. "I do enjoy learning new things and introducing others to new tastes as well. I finally managed a chocolate martini to fit Tygress's picky taste, and would love to see what others think of it."

"Hey there, Seth!" he said as he rolled the trunk further inside. He was curious at the comments between the hytes certain he was missing something. There was bound to be some inside jokes and such with friends and family as close as they were, so he wasn't too concerned.

[Entrance -> Main Living Room]

Pausing just outside the front door, the c*cktail smoothed a hand down his hastily donned outfit. The crisp white cotton hakama felt strange after wearing his suit all day, the sheer airyness of it was alien to the businessman, one who was always so impecibly and smartly dressed to the effect that he oft got teased about sleeping in his suit. Frowning alittle he smoothed the pale silver hair from his eyes and checked the neetly wrapped packag held in his other hand, the traditional paper covering very square and smooth, providing thperfect disguise for the gift inside.

Wih a last wiggle of his toes in the white tabi, the strange but rather free feeling of the wooden geta making him shift even when standing still, the white spider c*cktail knocked smartly on the door before letting himself in, assuming everyone would be busy socialising.

Once inside he spotted what was clearly a changing area and a large box of cloth. Well, at least he wasn't going to be the only one dressed up, though he did wonder if he looked any different, really.. considering he was all white and always wore all-white.. and today was no different. Pushing such thoughts from his mind he moved further intot he appartment, following the sound of voices until he located the gathering in the main room.

[Front Door - Arrival]

Julien had worried the whole week. He'd worried over whether it was overtly ridiculous (he means - he knows it's ridiculous, but how ridiculous) that he had to wear this short little number because - 'waste not, want not,' Jun had said, despite the fact that he'd wanted not in the first place. Then he'd worried that legwarmers over geta were just not kosher. Of course, over it all, he'd worried that the little gifts they'd got weren't appropriate, but - oh, they hadn't really had the time to shop, and -

- well. To be honest, he wasn't thinking about any of that at all right now. He was worried in the slightest, no. Every single fibre of his being was concentrated on sheer panic instead. Because they were late - and not just late: very late.

"Maxwell!" he called back, panting - the jaguar was in the snowy darkness somewhere, sorting out his bike, "Hurry up!"
And then he was pressing the doorbell. Oh dear.

[Front Door arrow Main Living Room]

He came over after padlocking the bike - to be frank, driving a motorcycle in hakama was not his idea of a good time - and found poor little Juli still standing in the snow pressing on a doorbell. "I doubt we're that late," he drawled, and pushed him aside to fiddle with the doorknob before 'miraculously' twisting it free.

Maxwell chivarously held the door open and shoved the bunny in before ducking in himself. "ANYTHING HAPPENING YET?" he asked/declared, pretty confident that they hadn't missed much.

It seemed that now was the main arrival time, for one by one more Hytes were joining the party. Even a cocktail seemed to have made it. "Hello, Felyse, Wisp," he greeted in kind, smiling at the new arrivals. Shortly after came in two Hytes whom the cheetah was certainly surprised to see, considering he hadn't actually seen either of them in quite some time. "Not just yet," he replied in answer to the jaguar's question, though whether the other would even notice his reply was doubtable. Still, it was a party, so may as well try. "Good to see you both."  

[Jasper Dream]

(Kitchen --> Main living room)

It didn't take Jasper very long to get everything set up. The bar between the kitchen and dining room worked out quite well to have what he most needed available. The punch bowl he set up toward the center of the dining table among the food stuffs. He added fresh fruit to garnish the bowl as well as a bowl of extra fruit beside it that doubled as a fruit salad.

He heard more guests arriving and looked over everything once more, feeling a bit rushed since he was eager to see who was there. "This should do for now," he said quietly to himself nodding. Feeling more settled now he trotted back toward the living room and entrance way to greet the newest arrivals.

The first he spotted caused him to smile so brightly that he looked as close to his younger self as possible. And it was appropriate considering it was one of his brothers. "Felyse, I'm so happy to see you!" he said giving his brother an enthusiastic hug while being carefull of the flowers the younger clyte held.

On a closer level with his brother Jasper spotted Wisp. Jasper hadn't seen much of the c*cktail in quite some time, probably since before growing up. As he released Felyse from the hug he waved a welcome. "Nice to see you Wisp. The traditional garb really suits you."

The next arrivals caused Jasper to jump as it was announced in the raised voice of his boss, Maxwell. "Not yet, but I'm sure now that you're here the party can really get started!" he called back, hoping the quick response would cover up his initial startlement from the entrance.
