My ethnicity is Scottish/Irish/Mexican (I don't look either of them xD).
Born and raised in Texas, as well.
My dad is from California, mom from Mississippi.

What I hate about being 25% Mexican, is that I can't tell anyone, because if I do, they're all "Speak in Spanish then!", and I don't speak Spanish, so everyone calls me a fake. xD

Grr XD...that is so mean of them. You don't have to speak Spanish for you to be part Mexican.

My ethnicity is Puertorriqueña.
Born in California and raised in Florida.
My parents are from Puerto Rico.

While I love my people's food and culture, I hate the island itself, I don't like mountains, humidity, lack of air conditioners, lack of full pane glass windows (I don't care how storm safe the shutters are, I hate them!), narrow crowded roads, disregard for traffic laws, clustered buildings, narrow hard shores where it's not murky or polluted. burning_eyes

I guess it's ok for a vacation if you stick around San Juan so you won't have to drive (walk or bus) to go someplace nice.

I LOVE Florida! Beautiful beaches, wide open SAFE roads, it's all sea level, trees trees trees, it's just plain beautiful! My attitude also leans a bit towards the redneck side and fried chicken will be the death of me! I also don't speak Spanish and have limited understanding of it, something my extended family finds very disappointing and shameful. (I'm kinda the black sheep, I don't like most of my cousins, aunts, and uncles and they don't like me. One Christmas we had a pot luck dinner at my uncle's house with "traditional" foods, I brought an English pudding I made just to piss off my aunt-in-law and it was one hell of a tasty, good pudding!)

As for the culture, the music is great, especially the "old style" stuff. SAMPLE!

The food is fantastic! Monfongo, Arroz con gandules, coquito, pion, AVOCADOS! 3nodding

Puerto Rico has the best beauty and fashion products at very low prices.

CHRISTMAS!!! No one celebrates Christmas like Puerto Ricans! Celebrations go from Dec. 1st to Jan. 6th!

Super amazing ^_^ haha, love the Sample music! This kind of music we sometimes play but not very often, we mostly play Texano, or Mariachis, or Rancheras (rancheras I don't like so much ) -_- they bore me sometimes. But I can totally rock with Selena Quintanilla's music lol ^_^.

Sorry, that came out a little too harsh.
It's just England doesn't have festivals and such.
We don't really celebrate a part from the main holidays.
When i read people who dicuss their cultures i get really jealous. sweatdrop

Ohhhh, I just meant, what does the word "shite" mean, but after reading your explanation, I looked it up online and connected the pieces. Yeah, I guess it was a little harsh, but I understand. We probably a have a lot of festivals here (especially gay pride in downtown central Ohio, lots of Easter celebrations for little kids, occasionally drunken Irish parties for St. Patrick's Day) but my family celebrates none of them.

I've never heard that word before, though. lol

I'm "African-American" (as some people like to call it; I just say black) Native American, Irish and Dutch. But the last two are a very small percent of me. I'm mostly black African American and Native American.
Some of my extended family celebrates Kwanzaa and some weird Native American New Year thing, but my family really doesn't. We're not very cultural, I guess.

I been studying a lot on cultures, and I for one saw that each of us has a unique culture. Culture is: language, things we celebrate yearly, or daily, maybe even weekly like BBQs and things like that. Even our values, norms, the way we think is culture.

EDIT: that includes, accents, the way we speak, respect, etc...

Like Krayzeh wrote the word "shite" I didn't know what it was because it is mostly from the England culture. : )

See what I mean? If not, you are welcome to ask me questions.

That's so very true!

It's probably just because I'm American, but: I honestly don't think there are any words I/my friends use that aren't used elsewhere in the English-speaking world. o.o I think a lot of cultures have words I've never heard of, which is interesting. Like I said, though, I probably only think this because I'm used to the words I say, but ... from my experience ... my area uses really generic words. lol
