Personally, I am rather sad that Gaia has decided to ban tobacco-related items. I believe that they are acting out of fear of what legal actions may come about (if some hasn't already) due to have such items available for "purchase" and "use" by members as young as 13.
However if you take a step back it, I can see reason in their caution. There have been many new laws regarding the banning of smoking in the USA. Many health concerns have come to light and reports of impressionable youngsters who can see such things as friends, celebrities, or their favorite site supporting tobacco related products (even if it is not intended to).
This makes me worry. Will Gaia continue banning further sale of items such as weapons or items that might be labeled as "sexual" in order to protect themselves and our fellow younger Gaians?
Who knows, I can just only hope that it won't come to that.
