In the HP series, people do not have innate abilities like that. They use spells and such to produce magical effects, they can't just whip out a flame or something. They need spells, wands, components, etc. He might go to the school and discover that he has a natural knack for fire, meaning that the spells seem to come a little easier for him, but he can't just open his palm and create fire. HP universe doesn't work that way. He comes to the school to learn these things, he can't control the elements naturally.

Yeah, that's the kind of site to look for. Something that tells you about creatures in the HP universe. Just make sure if it is a fan created creature that it gets approval from the HP thread creator/mods before you assume that you can use it.

Just try to remember that you are human. It's just like you are right now, only you have available to you a school that can teach you various, reasonable types of magic. This is not your average fantasy game where there will be vampires, massive spellcasting duels, innately magical people who can produce fog, fire, lightning, etc.

This is just the real world, back in the earliest 1900s, where magic is more pagan and realistic in nature with a fun twist.

If you read the rules section on the HP page, it tells you to submit it to Hoshi. It also gives you a certain something you are supposed to type in at the bottom of the profile so she knows that you read the rules smile

If you go to the Hogwarts U/C thread, on the first page it has a listing of professors which also has the classes they teach. Even if a professor isn't listed, the class is still offered.
