Name: Vellek Gender: male Race: Human Class and Level: Fighter / Rogue Age: 34 Height: 6'2" Weight: 183 lbs Alignment: Abilities: Hit Points: Armor Class: Attack Bonus: Saving Throws: Skills: Special: Class: bonus feat (two-weapon fighting), sneak attack +1d6, Feats: power attack, Languages: common, Weapons: masterwork heavy mace, masterwork light mace, heavy crossbow, dagger. Armor: +2 scalemail Other Equipment: bag, ring, amulet, everburning torch, three sacks, Murlynd's Spoon, tin bowl, waterskin, flask of ale, bedroll. Mount: light warhorse, military saddle. Money: Appearance: "The man was tall, and muscular with a lean build. His sandy-brown hair was cut short, he had a strong jaw, and a nose that looked as though it'd been broken several times. His torso was covered by a suit of dented scale armor that, judging from the smell, had recently been polished. Bare arms poked out on either side, each virtually covered with an assortment of jagged, crisscrossing scars." - Adustes, 3:11:9 This is pretty close, I suppose. Ignore the moss on the maces and the gun on his shoulder. Imagine ordinary-looking scale mail and flanged maces, one with a larger, heavier head than the other. And as there are not scars for the upper arms, I substituted the red tattoos. Imagine them dulled to look like scars. *** Information yet unlisted will be filled in as it is revealed in the roleplay.

That’s all I know right now because I’m tired of having to plan out every detail of my character before I even start. I’m going to let her story come to me as I play. •Appearance: Standing at a mere 5'2 and slender as a reed, this elfish young woman is far from remarkable at first sight. Likely hovering on the outskirts of crowds or dark corners of taverns, her lackluster attire and understated demeanor are such that one's eyes would likely pass right over her. Neither dreadfully plain nor dazzlingly beautiful, her face would fall into the catagory of 'modest', were it not for the striking angle of her upturned eyes and the delicate point of her ears, longer than an average elf's, that lends her the saving touch of the exotic. Her skin also is so pale that it seemed to lack color altogether, leaving it a milky shade of grey. Her hair, which falls around her thin shoulders to reach her middle back, is the deepest of auburns, and occasionally, when the light hit just right, one can catch the shimmer of silver strands. Her clothing is old, worn, and altogether practical. An assembly of faded greys, browns and greens, there is nothing eye catching about her attire which consists of basic pants, several layers of tunics, and a fraying cloak. The outermost tunic may have once been a handsome green but it had long since faded to a tired olive hue. Boots are shoddy but still usable and lace tightly up her calves, and the entire ensemble is punctuated with the occasional stitching or patch. This is an extremely incomplete picture of her but it's all I've got so far.

Just so nobody currently participating in Apotheosis has to ask whose turn it is to post, here is the current posting order, based on the last string of entries:
- Adustes / Vellek - Eliae - Kal'ara - Vhael'iss - Matasoga
If you're unsure as to whether we're waiting on you, look at the list. If the last person to have posted is the one above your character's name, then you're up. This will be updated when Furian is introduced, which I hope to make soon. So let's move things along, people.

There have been two updates to the rules post. The first, labeled the "Beat by the Monkeys Rule", was added near the bottom of the post. The second, less noticeable change, was the reduction of the acceptable wait between posts, from 14 days to 7.

Here is the new posting order: Redcap Adustes / Vellek Vhael'iss Eliae Matasoga Kal'ara Also, due to an issue concerning the removal of the Apotheosis thread's sticky status from making edits to the first post, the rules that had been over there have been added to the rules post on the first page of this thread, in an effort to keep that from happening again.

I know it's somewhat difficult keeping track of not only your position but that of everybody around you and the terrain in a text-based roleplay, so I've spent the last little while drafting up a small map to make that easier. I'll try to keep it updated to the round, as well as I'm able. I'll more likely than not be deleting and reposting the map as I update, rather than filling the thread with useless images, so whatever's posted at any given time is current. This post will likely be moving with each update to the bottom of the thread, in an attempt to keep it easier to find as further updates are noted. linkKey: Enemies: black circle with red X Adustes: gray eye Eliae: dark red symbol of Malcanthet Kal'ara: dark blue crossbow Matasoga: light blue dragon Vellek: red crossed maces Vellek's horse: red horse Vhael'iss: light gray viola
Misc: redcaps sword: flaming sword
Notes: As stated in the upper right corner, each square equates to a 5-foot by 5-foot area. The black, spidery-looking things are trees. The small round green objects are bushes. The lighter section is a path, which will represent clear ground (having less foliage than the darker areas), since this area isn't well-traveled enough to have paths. **Current as of the end of Eliae's last post**

Another quick combat rules addition: If, by the end of the round (or one cycle/pass of the posting order, for anyone not familiar with what I mean by round) anyone has failed to make an attack roll, roll for damage, or whatever else, you will lose the privilege of making that roll for yourself. In other words, once the last person in the order has made their post, you have a maximum of three days to make any necessary die rolls. If you fail to do so in that time, I will make the roll for you. Pray that your character sheets and profiles are accurate.
This rule goes into effect immediately. But since I apparently left my notes on the progress of the battle behind when I left Pittsburgh, those of you who haven't yet made your rolls have until I return (two days from the time of this post) to get them in. At that time, I will begin my post to move us along. When it is finished, I will check the relevant threads to see if any changes have been made before submitting it. If you get them in before my post is completed, I will edit it to include your result. If nothing has been updated, my post will be submitted and we will move along. I realize that some of you may not have had time or been unsure of what to do, but that is what the three day (or seven, outside of combat) allowance is for.

**Current as of the end of Adustes' turn, round 2** linkKey: Enemies: black circle with red X Adustes: gray eye Eliae: dark red symbol of Malcanthet Kal'ara: dark blue crossbow Matasoga: light blue dragon Vellek: red crossed maces Vellek's horse: red horse Vhael'iss: light gray viola

The far end of the blurred line is where he/she had been, and the placeholder's current position is where that character is now. I have added a new variant to the rules post on page 1. It will be listed in red for one month.
Subsequent additions will be similarly listed until one month has passed since the post announcing them.

Alright guys, I know Apotheosis hasn't moved at all in the last few months, but there are good reasons for that. Primarily, the loss of half of the players. As you may or may not know, two had lost internet access for a time, and a third had (when last we spoke about the RP) been about to drop out. And most recently, I found myself second-guessing the nature of the villains' goals. After discerning that I had founded the campaign on ideas that didn't quite make sense, given the individuals involved, I had considered letting Apotheosis die, and maybe starting over with goals more in keeping with the villains' character. However, having put more thought into it, I found that with some minor tweaking (that won't come up in game for a very long time), the story can continue, as of yet unchanged, and make much more sense (to me at least). Anyway, at this point, I'd like to make sure which of my players are still interested, and which aren't, so we can hopefully put an end to this over-long hiatus. So, if you'd like to keep going, post. If you don't, also post and let me know, so we can get your character written out. I'd like to have all your responses within the week, so please just rattle off something quick when you see this. EDIT: Quick reference for my convenience, just so I don't have to think about who said what after each new post. Josh X Kris X Alex X Zac X James X
