Just because it's widely accepted, doesn't mean it's the truth.
For thousands of years, people believed that everything revolved around the earth. It was widely accepted. Was it true?
For hundreds of years people believed the earth was flat. It was widely accepted. Does that mean it was true?
just had to point that out. ------------- There ARE signs of His coming. Proof that the Great Appearing is closer than ever.
In the bible it says that, and I'm paraphrasing, "Those who see Israel become a nation will not all pass away from this earth before My coming." I don't know if that's referring to having the original lands of the Twelve Tribes of Israel being together in one country again, or if it's talking about recapturing Jerusalem as the capital, but if either of these are true then He will return soon.
Israel became a nation in 1947. If that is what it's talking about, then He will return before the last of that generation dies.
Jerusalem became the capital in 1967(I think). If that is what He's waiting for, then there will be at least one person left from that generation when He appears.
I was born in '89. If either of those events are what is prophesized in the bible, I SHOULD be around to see Him.
If the event is yet to come, I really hope it's soon. I want to see Him. I want the WORLD to see Him.
He IS right about there being signs, and if either of these are it, we're in trouble. Do you need extra hands to count those you've gotten saved? Or can you count them on one hand and still have fingers left? How many people have you helped to get to heaven?
I'll be there. Will your family be there? Will your friends?
Will you?

I agree with Aquiella and xI-Constantine-Ix. Christ is coming soon, the fact that Israel is rebuilding her ruins, and the fact that Israel hasn't lost a war since she became a nation-state in 1948 attest to that. There are more as well, but then this post would be way long.
Diseases are increasing in number, violence is increasing at a higher rate than ever in recent history, there are an increasing number of wars and rumors of wars, and immorality is also on the rise.
No one knows the time or place, that is true; however, the general month can be figured out by delving deeply into the Bible. I asked a well-respected man at my church about this recently, and he said that Jesus would return around the time of the Jewish new year, which is in September or October, depending on the year.
International relations are falling apart, that is true, but there is one international bond that has been growing that will be destroyed along with the countries: Russia and Iran (Persia). The ralationship between these two countries is one that has never happened before. These countries have never met for the benefit of both countries except in recent history.
So yes, I agree with xI-Constantine-Ix. Christ is coming soon.

freelance lover mazuac freelance lover You know, people have been saying Jesus is coming back for years, hundreds of years. Look at the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Furthermore, it says in the Bible that no one knows the time or place- so why should we even try to predict it?
And it's pretty widely accepted that Revelations may simply be a metaphore for the fall of Rome.
Live your life for God, that way if the world ends tomorrow or in a thousand years you're ready.
The Book of Revelation couldn't be about the fall of Rome because of the fact that it talks about New Jerusalem, and Christs return, and the end of sin, and you get the picture~
There's a whole slew of interpretations. The one that argues it's a metaphore for the fall of Rome is all metaphorical. It's called the Preterist view. It's pretty interesting.
It's impossible that the fall of Rome was based off the Book of Revelation for several reasons.
1. Nero wasn't THE anti-Christ, he was just again Christ (which would be "anti-christ" but not THE anti-christ.)
2. He did not administer marks onto his followers of "666"
3. He never made a treaty/agreement with Israel for 7 years!
The list goes on and on, as you can see, it's obvious that the Fall of Rome was not what the Book of Revelation was about...

I agree with you, things look bleak for us. And the bible spoke of famine as a sign before he would be coming back. And guess what! THERE IS A WORLDWIDE FAMINE GOING ON NOW!
Wow, this is so exciting! ^^ I know that we don't know when he comes back, but I hope it's soon!
