You know, people have been saying Jesus is coming back for years, hundreds of years. Look at the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Furthermore, it says in the Bible that no one knows the time or place- so why should we even try to predict it?

And it's pretty widely accepted that Revelations may simply be a metaphore for the fall of Rome.

Live your life for God, that way if the world ends tomorrow or in a thousand years you're ready.

The Book of Revelation couldn't be about the fall of Rome because of the fact that it talks about New Jerusalem, and Christs return, and the end of sin, and you get the picture~

There's a whole slew of interpretations. The one that argues it's a metaphore for the fall of Rome is all metaphorical. It's called the Preterist view. It's pretty interesting.

Just because it's widely accepted, doesn't mean it's the truth.

For thousands of years, people believed that everything revolved around the earth. It was widely accepted. Was it true?

For hundreds of years people believed the earth was flat. It was widely accepted. Does that mean it was true?

just had to point that out.
-------------
There ARE signs of His coming. Proof that the Great Appearing is closer than ever.

In the bible it says that, and I'm paraphrasing, "Those who see Israel become a nation will not all pass away from this earth before My coming." I don't know if that's referring to having the original lands of the Twelve Tribes of Israel being together in one country again, or if it's talking about recapturing Jerusalem as the capital, but if either of these are true then He will return soon.

Israel became a nation in 1947. If that is what it's talking about, then He will return before the last of that generation dies.

Jerusalem became the capital in 1967(I think). If that is what He's waiting for, then there will be at least one person left from that generation when He appears.

I was born in '89. If either of those events are what is prophesized in the bible, I SHOULD be around to see Him.

If the event is yet to come, I really hope it's soon. I want to see Him. I want the WORLD to see Him.

He IS right about there being signs, and if either of these are it, we're in trouble. Do you need extra hands to count those you've gotten saved? Or can you count them on one hand and still have fingers left? How many people have you helped to get to heaven?

I'll be there. Will your family be there? Will your friends?

Will you?

Besides, WHEN He's coming isn't important.

What's important is whether or not your going with Him when he DOES!!!

Are you prepared for the very real possibility that you may not live to see it?

If you were to die right now, What would happen to you?
PostPosted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 9:10 am
I'm not saying its the truth (although admittedly I did come across like that, now that I reread). I'm just saying there's about seven zillion different interpretations.

Personally, I don't really care when Jesus returns. I don't worry about what happens after I die either. I figure if I live for him as best I know how, then God will take care of me. I have faith that God loves me and will always do what it best for me. So if the world ends tomorrow or in a thousand years, I'm ready either way.

On the subject of weird controversies surrounding the end of the world, check out the Bible code. That's some cool stuff which kind of lines up with Nostrodamous and such.

I agree with Aquiella and xI-Constantine-Ix. Christ is coming soon, the fact that Israel is rebuilding her ruins, and the fact that Israel hasn't lost a war since she became a nation-state in 1948 attest to that. There are more as well, but then this post would be way long.

Diseases are increasing in number, violence is increasing at a higher rate than ever in recent history, there are an increasing number of wars and rumors of wars, and immorality is also on the rise.

No one knows the time or place, that is true; however, the general month can be figured out by delving deeply into the Bible. I asked a well-respected man at my church about this recently, and he said that Jesus would return around the time of the Jewish new year, which is in September or October, depending on the year.

International relations are falling apart, that is true, but there is one international bond that has been growing that will be destroyed along with the countries: Russia and Iran (Persia). The ralationship between these two countries is one that has never happened before. These countries have never met for the benefit of both countries except in recent history.

So yes, I agree with xI-Constantine-Ix. Christ is coming soon.

I read in the Bible that It will be as in the time of Noah, when the world ends. (Someone once told me that meant that there were computers and technology back then but I doubt it.) It also said that people will be lovers of themselves instead of lovers of God.

Anyone but me seeing that?

It's impossible that the fall of Rome was based off the Book of Revelation for several reasons.

1. Nero wasn't THE anti-Christ, he was just again Christ (which would be "anti-christ" but not THE anti-christ.)

2. He did not administer marks onto his followers of "666"

3. He never made a treaty/agreement with Israel for 7 years!

The list goes on and on, as you can see, it's obvious that the Fall of Rome was not what the Book of Revelation was about...

Well, it does say in the Book of Revelation that world has not experienced so much terror, damage, destruction, etc. since the very begging of the Earth. But yes, it probably will be like the time of Noah b/c of the fact that very few people will live, and massive panics will ensue in the world~

I agree with you, things look bleak for us. And the bible spoke of famine as a sign before he would be coming back. And guess what! THERE IS A WORLDWIDE FAMINE GOING ON NOW!

Wow, this is so exciting! ^^ I know that we don't know when he comes back, but I hope it's soon!

Just a question I'd like to pose to anyone who is interested:

WHY do you hope that Jesus comes back soon?

I'm certainly not saying wanting it is good or bad - I'm just curious.

Do you know what heaven will be LIKE?!? If you did, you wouldn't be saying that....

The streets will be paved with gold. We'll all get our own castles/mansions. There will be no more sin, no more tears, no more sorrow, (no more porno or diets DX). We'll get BRAND NEW, PERFECT BODIES!!!! (Mine sux XP) And we'll spend eternity with the Lord.

I don't know about you, but I wanna go!!!

...A very good point. As much as I may be excited for the Rapture to happen; you never know when it will. If you think there are signs, that means Jesus probably isn't coming anytime soon.

I'd like to address Nostradamus or whoever predicted that in 2012 the world will end. Whoever did predict this is probably wrong. Like ChibiLi said, "He will come like a thief in the night..." Well, I mean, the Bible says that, but she referenced if. You get what I'm saying.

this prediction was actually based on the Mayan calander, tho i am sure that few would want to admit that someone like Nostradamus was taking Doom's Day lessons from wild men.

It has nothing to do with your end of the world...stuff.
