Yawning widely, Half Truth rose to her feet. Quickly, she nuzzled Rose, then headed over to where the group was. Listening, she caught up to what was going on.
"D'you need more help?" she asked Wildflower Breeze, punctuating her sentence with another yawn. "I can walk a path or watch stones."

First to Strike, who had been wandering around in the soil examining the stones in the path, took the opportunity to interject. "Why not check when we get there?" he asked. "The day's not getting any longer."

Never Misses, who had exploring the area widely had largely been attempting her own solutions to the problem without any luck, but she had returned to the group in time to hear most of the recent conversation.
"First to Strike, loathe as I am to admit it, is right. We can see from the ground which way each cheetah is facing. What if, when we start down this brown path, this stone stops glowing? If we have to do things in a specific order, then we'll know that we've done something wrong." She tossed her head (Grumble was safely on her back, holding her hair). "There's no point in planning our second move when we don't know if the first one in the sequence is going to work out."

The grypon took flight and began to assess the glyph stones. It felt like a shorter while than it actually was; the area was large and while her wings were larger than a songbird's it was still a fairly long process. She was careful to keep the information straight in her head but still did a high pass over to take the scene all in before she landed down again and reappeared as a mare.
"The north stone faces east, with two paths--light brown and dark brown. The dark brown path leads to the east stone, which faces west, and the the second path of stones from it are peach." She took a breath, careful to keep her words understandable as she revealed the whole image to them. "The peach path leads to the southwest stone which faces east. From it a red brown path leads to the southeast stone which faces west. The gold pathway leads to the west stone which faces west. And of course the light brown path leads to the north stone."
It was too bad she was no artist, perhaps she could have drawn a map. It would have to do as it was. And hopefully they could keep it all straight.

"The more, the merrier," Breeze said to Half Truth with a smile that was already taking on a fond edge.
While he agreed with the apparent kiokote siblings, he waited politely for Lull in Sunlight to report back her observations. He tilted his head thoughtfully when she was done. "The last stone doesn't point towards the first in this route... but, we may as well try this as sit around talking about other solutions, right?" He stepped slightly apart from the group to address everyone in it more clearly. "Let's head to the eastern stone and see what happens. Would everyone be alright with that?"

"Sounds fine to me," Half Truth said. "Northern stone to eastern stone. Sounds like a plan. Let's go!"She headed down the path that connected the northern and eastern stones, hoping others would follow.

"Understood," Scrape said softly and watched Half Truth set off. She took a deep breath, waiting a few moments before followed the other down the path that connected the northern and eastern stones.

When Half-Truth sets her hooves on the brown stones in the path, a different stone begins to glow as well - visible only to kin already on the eastern side of the obelisk. The light given off is moon-bright, but after a moment it looks like it's beginning to fade... Walking along the path takes time. As they walk, the stones they set foot on glow with a barely noticeable light. When they step - for a fleeting moment - on one of the pale tan stones in their way, the southern glow fades again. RUNNING INSTRUCTIONS The winding path around the obelisk is composed of five legs, starting from the northernmost round stone. Kin must work together to quickly run the paths along certain stones within a certain time limit, without letting anyone step on a stone that isn't in the current path, or skipping any stones. Once kin have reached the next leg, marked by another round stone with a symbol on it, the symbol on the start stone will stop glowing, and a new goal stone's symbol will begin to glow, to indicate the path they must take. As kin run along the paths, the stones they've stepped on will glow. However, if they step on an incorrect stone, or take too long to run along the path, the stones in the current leg will stop glowing, and they'll need to start running again from the beginning of the current leg. To run along the path for this leg, the group must count up from 1 to 5 without skipping a number, doubling a number, or otherwise counting incorrectly. Editing or deleting posts is not allowed under any circumstances, and you may not double post. Each post must have at least two sentences of roleplay to qualify (describe your kin's effort to step on the next stone, or to point out 'incorrect' stones for those who are running - whatever you'd like!). Keep the group's current number at the bottom of your post by adding one to the number posted by the previous poster. Posts that do not include numbers will neither count for, nor against, the group's efforts, but those posts still cannot be edited or deleted. If a number is skipped, doubled, or if a post with a number in it does not contain any roleplay, the GMs will post to let everyone know. When the group has reached the goal number of 5, there will be another GM post. The group has 20 OOC minutes from when 1 is posted to complete this leg.

Half Truth hemmed and hawed as the glow faded- then noticed what had happened. "Hang on- the colors mean something. We have to be super careful. Let's try this again."

Breeze kicked his hooves up to a canter and tossed his head, shaking out his minty garland. "Come on now, look alive everyone," he caroled, with a touch of songbird trill to his voice.

Half Truth carefully picked her way over the stones, not wanting to sacrifice accuracy for speed. “We can do this!” she called encouragingly.

Dew Drop Sun had been fairly quiet and observant the entire time. She'd poked about a bit, but she was not a great puzzle-solver, so she had mostly been waiting for instruction. When they'd finally figured out what needed to be done, however, she knew she could help. She was a runner. She loved running. This would be great.
Dew Drop Sun lined herself up to help and jumped in at the next leg. "Let's see what we can do!"4

Not wanting to falter now, Half Truth urged a little extra speed into her legs. The goal was in sight!

5 As Half Truth sets her hoof on the easternmost cheetah stone, the cheetah stone to the southeast of it begins to glow. For any kin who were observing, the northernmost stone goes dormant - as though it had never glowed. For the current leg, you must count to 10 within 20 minutes. Otherwise, the rules are the same as for the previous leg. When the group has collectively reached the goal number of 10, there will be another GM post. You have twenty OOC minutes from when 1 is posted. Good luck!

Half Truth only spared a quick glance behind her before setting off again. "Let's make it a race!" she called. "First one to the next stone without setting off the wrong path gets... a bunch of these grass stems on me!"
