This time the leopard made certain he hadn't checked the region before he began his search. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything for him to find. And he could've sworn he was so close!

Jong looked up at the mention of gecko, his eyes big. He held his breath and was about to bolt when he realized they were not going to attack him. These leopards all seemed very nice to him actually. None of them had tried to smash him for finding tokens. They had to be the best bunch of leopards he had ever met. Not like he made it a habit of meeting many leopards. Usually he avoided being around anything big enough to kill him with one paw or beak.

To another region he was sure he hadn't visited before! This time, Farraginis climbed a tree to search better. But, alas, still nothing to be found.

Sigh.

Jong decided that climbing up a tree would give him a good idea of where to search. After scouting out the area he would be looking, he scampered across the ground quickly to begin looking. Mostly he just looked for tokens because it was obvious to him that the leopard was not hiding here. So he pushed aside leaves and looked around small plants but found no tokens.

As she padded through the edges of the jungle, Valli paused to sniff the air around her, gold eyes scanning the area. She had to hand it to this leopardess--she was clever. And not in this spot. But eventually, she would be found.

He kept returning to the bottom of the field. But no matter how many times he came down here, searching, he always found nothing! Farraginis seethed as he looked, sure that there was something down here, if only he could find it!

It was a pleasant reassurance that the game was not in vain. He smiled at the leopardess officiating, then climbed back up into the trees. This time he stayed in the big trees, only crossing from one to another when he could simply step across. His eye caught sight of a tree rodent, though, and in moments he had himself a snack. It helped to put something in his stomach, and soon he was once more scouring the area from above. Perhaps if he found that trickster, the game would be finished!

Farraginis idly waved a paw at the other leopard while he himself wandered over to another spot and searched it. Nothing. Pity.

Where were those tokens? Not to mention that leopardess?

Desya returned the wave with a nod, padding off in a different direction. He was looking high and low, his eyes roving to either side as he walked. This was why he failed to notice the patch of stickery plants. They weren't thorns, but tiny balls with sharp pricks on every minute bit of it. Looking everywhere but where his paws were, he walked right through it. It didn't hurt at first, so he was some distance from it when he felt the raw sting. Stopping to examine the paw in question, he was alarmed to see the little stickers, stuck between his toes, in his pads, and even along the heel of his paw. Yipes!

He attempted to groom them out, only to receive a raw scrape to the tongue which hurt more than the ones stuck between his toes! Suppressing a yowl, he bared his fangs and began to dig the tiny nuisances out with his teeth. You can well imagine his dismay as he realized he needed to do this with all four paws! He settled himself against a pile of rocks in the sunshine and began the tedious job of ridding himself of the clinging things.

It had been a long day already. It was, Farraginis decided as he concluded that this area was empty as well, getting even longer. He began watching the shadows, looking to see how late in the day this game was likely to go.

This was less pleasant now that he'd been doing it for so long. The stickers were probably the turning point, but he also was getting hungry and tired. His recent snack helped a little, but not terribly much. He was beginning to look just as downcast and weary as the other male who was playing the game. Searching repeatedly through the jungle was less enjoyable when the object of one's search still refused to show up. Oh, he was content with his tokens, but he was beginning to consider sitting out the rest of the game.

With a great heave of breath, he moved from the pile of rocks where he'd left a pile of those nasty stickers. Time to move on. Again. "It would be useful if the leopardess would just give us an indication on where she might be," he called out as a suggestion, not aimed at the moderators but at the leopardess herself, wherever she happened to be. He was starting to suspect she was moving about, staying just out of sight on purpose. It really was getting tiresome now. Half-heartedly he poked a paw into a clump of grass that clearly didn't contain the feline, but might contain a token.

Sayen was starting to lose HER patience, and it was a pretty good deal of it that she possessed. The striped leopardess started to pace, looking around in the trees. While the coins were mostly on the ground, the leopardess they sought was somewhere up there. And she was probably laughing at everyone searching for her...

Desya doggedly paced along, too tired now to scale the trees and leap branch to branch. Hopefully other gold tokens would be found, hopefully someone would find her. He had a feeling that at this rate, they'd most certainly be searching well after dark, and likely into the next couple days. It might not be a large area, but it was big enough for all of them to search and still not find the leopardess! It was quite infuriating, but the more he searched, the more likely she'd be found. Thus, he kept on, padding along the ground, looking high, low, and in between. Where was that dratted female?!

Everyone was starting (starting!?) to lose their patience, Farraginis included. Hell, he'd nearly lost his patience before his wonderful first find!

The lengths to which this game went were, well, getting kind of ridiculous.

Crossing to the opposite side of the search area, Valli sniffed about before deciding the leopardess wasn't in this spot, either. The search was getting to a point where she would have welcomed a helpful vision to guide her--but her gift was rarely so easily called upon. Without the proper preparation--or a great deal of luck--she could simply search along with the others.
