(( Sorry for the late reply! Just wanted to state ICly that Ukuba is staying behind for a while as well. ))

The Firekin seemed even less keen on the idea of using birds as messengers than they seemed about the fact that this Pride was a home to non-lion species such as himself. Hopefully the Kitwana'antara as a whole could prove that non-lion species were just as useful as lions, if not more so, considering the Kitwana's unique plight.

It seemed that the meeting was coming to an end. The aging wild dog got to his feet and gave the Queen yet another bow before he turned and started running in the direction of where his fellow Secret Keepers resided. They needed to know what was going on, as if things went wrong, they would be very busy indeed.

When the idea of one or two Firekin staying behind was mentioned, Ukuba frowned deeply. As a pursuer of knowledge, he wished nothing more than to stay with the Kitwana'antara and learn all there was to know about themselves and their disease. There was only one problem. If he remained here, it would mean spending an even greater period of time away from his brother. He wouldn't be there, should his brother need him.

As he considered this, he thought about what Isifo would say. He would tell him to stop worrying, and do what he wanted. After all, more information on the disease could only be beneficial to the Firekin as a whole. Ukuba had always been so fiercely protective of his brother, even before the Nergui had invaded. Would Isifo really be safe without him? Yes, he would.

Ukuba turned towards Veru and the others, just as Veru was asking Kiowaa if she would say behind. "Veru, if you do not mind, I would like to stay behind as well. I believe that there is much to be learned here, and the Firekin can only benefit from such knowledge." He opened his mouth to add something else, but decided against it. He was going to ask that they inform his brother of his choice to remain here for a while, but he decided that that was something they would tell him anyway when they got back to the Pride.

Once everything was settled, and he and Kiowaa had found a safe place to rest once the night drew in, he would seek out Netravati. Although she seemed rather odd, she seemed to most genuine and forth-coming of all the Kitwana that he had encountered today.
