[3.X/PF Midnight] The Spark of Hope <Recruit 0/6>

Reacting faster than the orcs, the party launches a a volley of missiles. While the two of the orcs were able to deflect or side-step, Orc #1 received a grazing shot to the arm. Turning slowly, he ignores the foolish challenge from the big man and points his vardatch cleaver at the puny being. Letting out a feral roar he barrels his way toward Martin....


((HELLO! DELIGHTFUL TO SEE YOU ALL. The DM has asked me to step in momentarily as he settles a few things. He promises he'll be back as soon as he can.))  

[MT the Clown]

... only to be blindsided by Hector and his massive bundle of wood.

Staggered by the sudden hit, Hector follows up...

...raising the weapon above his head, the rope holding the bundle fails. As bits of wood rains down, the glint of metal betrays the true weapon.

((Greataxe +3. To clarify: Orc #1 moves to attack Martin and activates Hector's readied action. It didn't drop the orc, who continues his attack which give Hector an AoO.))

The axe bites deeply into the orc's chest. Trying to push it aside, Orc #1 staggers to Martin and with a feeble roar, tries to swings the vardatch, but no sooner is the axe pulled out of his body, so too is many dark shapes that flops with a wet, sick noise onto the floor followed by the orc himself.

((Orc #1 is dead!!))

Seeing the big man with the bloody axe, the two remaining orcs looks at each other before agreeing with a silent nod. Orc #2 quickly closes the gap between himself and Hector and takes a swing that bites deeply.

((Hector takes 15 points of damage.))

Gauging the distance, Orc #3 charges at Hector. But in his frantic swing, the blade completely misses Hector and catches Orc #2 instead.

((Fumbled and struck Orc #2 for 9 points of slashing. Orc #3's AC is currently 15))

The human in the back draws his crossbow but seems to do nothing further other than speaking to himself.

Kear taking advantage of the third orc's disorganization levels her crossbow at it and takes aim for it's head. The little elfling squeezing the trigger on her weapon and hoping for the best.

The arrow hit, piercing into the third orc's hide with a whistling thunk and the smell of blood. Grinning like mad behind her makeshift mask and hood Kear readied another arrow in glee.

Martin drew another arrow back, leveling the tip with his eye. He loosed the shaft at the crossbow weilding man at the back of the room.

The arrow is propelled directly into the man's side, burying itself to the feathers.

The large orc remains in a defensive stance since there was little space for him to go to the front of the party. He was impressed with the others, and saw that this battle was going their direction.

Inukai once again spoke the chant before firing the shortbow again.

"Pierce the orc's skin. Let the life flee from his body so we may live."

The arrow clattered against the stone wall again. Inukai was becoming disheartened.

Giving the orc a hard shove to clear the weapon, Hector raises his axe and bring it down....

... one the spot the orc was just standing before his push. Cursing at the bloodloss affecting his control, Hector begins a series of deep breaths, preparing himself for what's to come.
