A boy who explicitly told me that he'd been searching his whole life for someone like me, someone I've given a lot of myself to be with because I cared for him...and for three and a half months since school resumed in September and I enjoyed summer vacation without him, he's been acting rude, ignoring, pessimistic, being an all-constant downer; replying with one-liners, he won't even look at me in the eyes and I can't remember the last time I ever had a substantial conversation with him. I asked him if I were doing something to bother him and he said I wasn't. I asked myself: did I set his homework on fire? Did I cheat on him? Did I embarass him in front of people? Did I ever undermine him? No, no, no, no. I've done absolutely nothing to him and even in my efforts just to involve him with our friends again, inviting him out to places, he changed so much in such a short time span. Our shared circle of friends notice it too, all of us wondering what's happened to him. Then he has the nerve to go and say "I used to think you were hot but your crappy personality made you ugly" and I just want to yell it back in his face that I could say the same for him because I don't know what I did to make him feel that way about me.
This overly religious girl in my class who asked me if I ever shoplifted before. I said ONCE, when I was six years old, a few pairs 10cent stick-on earrings at a clothing store. My mom found them the same day, we RETURNED THEM, we left the store on a positive note and it was a life lesson learned. I was ******** SIX years old. But suddenly this girl tells me that just the action of stealing makes me a thief in God's eyes and suddenly I'm going to Hell. She then proceeded to ask me if I've ever looked at another person "lustfully" before. I'm thinking to myself, wtf? You're asking a high school girl if she's ever thought a guy was cute before? Suddenly I'm also an adulterer in God's eyes too. This girl also had a boyfriend and she told me that "saving yourself before marriage means saving yourself physically AND emotionally." Incomprehensible.
The fact that I spent time for weeks gathering people for testing to collect data points for a Biology Lab because the teacher explicitly said we had to collect real data, and some of my lazier friends at last minute chose to lie and make up fake data and pretend it was real in their reports.
