Ever seen hell when the devil's hung over?

For those fortunate enough not to have witnessed the site, the locale here could serve as a mild analogy...what was once a relatively peaceful city, reduced to ash and flame. Streets actually buckled, the ground ripped asunder; for some reason, even a few light-posts had been bent double. The air in this place is heavy with the final cries of those souls who have just left this world.

And so, we find our Hero...So much for his fighting days being behind him. And did he even have the decency to try and find his old gear? Nope. The Trei we see before us this lovely fiery evening is clad in a black silk shirt and black denim jeans...the would-be club owner. The blade at his side looks...mildly out of place, to say the least. And yet...here he stands. Why not...after all, he's already dead. What does he have to lose?

((Forgive the strangeness of my posts...I'm trying out a new writing style, so I'm cleaning it up as I go.))

::A loud slam, like a ton of metal pounding into the asphault. The cracked frames of what windows remain unbroken shake under the vibration, signifying the devil's arrival as he hits the street, far enough ahead of Trei to be just bigger than a speck in the distance. His feet are standing just more than a yard apart, his 6'4" frame slouched forward slightly with his wrists dangling below his hips. His vermillion locks droop forward with his hanging head, masking his eyes.

Around his calves drifts the ethereal presence of the Black Mist, the icey-cold abysmal smoke that moves about of its own volition. Red electrical sparks dancing and twisting through the stagnant air around him, his silhouhette is blurred by the black field of energy surrounding him, his scarlet-laced aura roaring and twisting around his person like an uncontrolled flame.

Those black eyes of his are wide open, staring up and across the ruined city to his prey. The monster doesn't care who or what it is. It's here. It's alive. It dies. He jerks his neck back, tilting his head up whilst keeping his sight on his intended target. Droplets of blood have fallen upon all of the skin visible, his arms, chest, neck and face dotted with the red substance. Even the grey fur of his wolflike tail is stained with the warmer shade of blood. There is probably some in his wild hair, but the similarity of color makes that harder to discern. Of more obvious note are the few narrow streams of blood having fallen from his mouth, where something was recently bleeding. With a dark voice he speaks, quietly and to himself.::

...running....run, running out...this one, no...heeeuhh...

::The Red-Headed Devil seems to be thinking outloud; that would explain why he's not making any sense as he fantasizes about what he's wanting to do.::

...n...not...not very much...just a l-little...how to crush it, now....

::Just then, he is standing face to face with Trei. His right arm reeled far back behind his head as though he has just been standing here, pausing before an attack. His left leg is forward, his right bent slightly as he faces his left side toward his opponent. His left arm immediately swings to outward through the air, feeding his upper torso extra momentum as he attacks. With a switfness that would normally go unnoticed to the eyes of a mortal, his black-clawed right hand is piercing through the air like a distorted blur of color, aiming to clasp around the boy's neck like a vise.

Should he catch him, he intends to simply hold him, pushing him back and down into a bent-backward arch. Like a kid burning an ant with a magnifying glass, he'd much rather stand here and watch Trei's face turn purple than kill him outright. Though if he squeezes too hard, he won't have much of a face to watch anymore. The power of his fingers alone is unbelievale, able to crush normal bone as if it were hollow paper; the piercing black claws extending from each fingertip do not help to loosen his grip at all, as they press against the boy's flesh in an attempt to puncture it. Even still, the harder one may fight, the tighter that grip becomes.::

As is common sense, Trei had been prepared since he'd first entered the city; the sudden slam of the creature's appearance only served to drive home the necessity for preparation...and, while it's true that the sudden appearance of the demon was...alarming, to say the least...it was also more than enough of a stimulus to cause Trei to react....

As soon of the being appears,Trei leans back slightly and wire-thin threads of cutting energy, each stretching about a three and a half feet, whip out from the thumb and middle finger on each of Trei's hand; on the right, the thumb's thread arcs straight up towards the Demon's arm, nearing impact just as the beast's fingers slide over Trei's throat. The middle finger on the right hand sends its thread straight out towards the beasts mid-section from a distance of about two feet. Both threads on his left hand take similar arcs; the thumb going up towards the beast's chest, the middle finger just below it's twin. True, they were thin; however, being made of cutting energy, this was hardly a down-side.

::Trei's series of beams, while an effective technique, actually seem to go unnoticed. They each cut into the devil like knives through flesh. Whether intended to completely slice through his body or not, the chances of such an effort succeeding are low with the strength of his durable physical form. In the end, for Trei, it's much better that way. The freakish juggernaut lets out a bit of a stifled chuckle as the attacks strike his body, leaning his torso into his forward movement and letting his right arm swing further through the air. He tilts his body forward as his palm slams against the boy's throat, stretching out his right leg behind him and bending his left at the knee.

Long slits slicing into his leather shirt and blood seeping from within the cuts made on his upper torso and arm, Fierce clasps his long fingers all the way around his neck, a sick grin upon his face. The impact itself is easily great enough to crush Trei's larynx and send shudders through his body. Squeezing tighter around his neck, the devil curves his fingers inward in an attempt to tear his two-inch claws into his flesh.

Aroused by the sudden state of action, the mist around the monster's legs begins to grow, the frigid ethereal presence curling around Trei's legs. With his flamelike aura raging about in an even wilder fashion, the red bolts of energy circling him begin to converge around his right arm, coursing up and down the length of his moderately sized muscle structure as if it were charged. This could give Trei a feeling similar to a static shock, though not a particularly powerful one. A massive amount of ki is centering upon that limb to any who can sense it, beginning to gather at the palm. The arch of this battle is threatening to come to a sudden conclusion if whatever the beast is planning successfully comes to pass. Only an instant after the impact of the attack, were one to take notice, the cuts on the demon's body are gone; the resulting blood remains, but the wounds have healed in this short moment.::

The phrase "The best laid plans of mice and men" suddenly takes on a new meaning for Trei as not only does his attack, which should have shredded his opponent to mincemeat, fail, but he also finds his throat firmly in the beast's grip...

Luckily, he had an escape route...He hated to pull the card so early, but the insistent force on his wind-pipe kinda dictates that he has to...With a grin, he looks the demon in the eyes...then seems to flicker out of existence. See, the beauty of this particular setting is that our hero has plenty of light, which allows him to Destiny Jump as long as his body can hold out...

He reappears a short ways away, atop a small building. Drawing his sword, he makes himself ready for his opponent's next attack; Despite the short time they'd been fighting, a sheen of sweat can be seen on Trei's body...

::Before he can realize, the devil's black claws have pierced into his own flesh as his hand crushes in upon itself, blood seeping out around his fingertips. As if unable to even grasp the concept of pain, he spins around immediately, standing straight and glaring up at Trei. Did he know he was there? Hardly noticing the sword drawn, he opens his mouth, a thin string of saliva connecting two separate fangs on his upper and lower jaws, that twisted grin growing wider as he watches the boy.::

...it's....kehreehhe....quick, thinks it's quick...kreeheheeheahh...

::Fierce suddenly opens his hand, sprawling his fingers out as the wounds in his palm quickly close. His own blood dripping from his fingertips, the energy continues to course through his arm, centering into his palm and spreading out into his fingertips. Narrowing his malicious orbs, the black scleras barely catching any reflection of light around him, he clamps his jaws shut as his hand becomes enveloped in black and red ki.

Rearing back, he swings his right arm downward through the air. What ensues is ironically similar to Trei's initial strike, though on a whole new level of destruction. From each fingertip appears a long streak of tapered scarlet energy, shaped like the light from a crescent moon. Five of these curved Blood Claws speed through the air at an amazing rate of speed, their paths marked by the thinning trails of red electricity connecting them to the monster's fingertips.

The middle of the five Claws is aimed directly at Trei. Whatever touches it will suddenly have an identical twin. Each blade grows taller as it goes further, all of them spreading further apart from eachother as well; only the center attack stays directly on course. Just as the blades reach the building upon which the demon's opponent stands, they slide through it as if there was never such an obstruction. Neither slowing down or weakening, a few red sparks of energy fly as they pierce straight through and continue up into the atmosphere. The building itself, while only a story tall, begins to crumble into tick chunks of rubble and clouds of dust as the walls and ceiling cave in.

No matter how he may find a way out of that predicament, should Trei regain his bearings and look around, there would be no sight of Fierce. Gone. Feeling out his godlike signature of power, however, would be no difficult task. Even without that ability, finding him would be easy should one wait a moment or two. A loud rumbling emanates from the building directly across the street from Trei's, followed quickly by a deafening slam. Like a small meteor is colliding with the planet, visible shockwaves rock the landscape and tear shattered ripples into the concrete jungle that is the city, marring the street. Something is pounding into the ground near or within that building, shaking it down it its very foundations like a childhood plaything.

Dust billows out from the shattered windows of the bottom floor of the ten-story building, looking to be about 40x55 square feet. Even with this size, it is rocking violently, ages of dust build-up on the walls and rooftop lifting into the air as it does. If one is perceptive, it seems to be leaning closer to the street, as if it's going to tip over and land on top of Trei should he remain in place. Depsite this, it's going so slowly, there's little need to panic, and it's not tipping enough to fall.::

Immediately after the demon performs his slash, Trei sprints backwards, leaping off the back of the building just as the upward-bound crescents tear through the roof behind him. No doubt about it, those buggers woulda hurt...

It would seem that he's gonna get nowhere at this rate. Leaving would probably be a smart move...but it would also be boring. Well, he wasn't outta tricks yet...However, no sooner does this thought run through his mind, a rather large shadow seems to shift...The demon was tryin' to bring down a skyscraper...wonderful.

Well, it wasn't too late to play another card...if he was gonna provide this thing with a decent challenge, he would need energy, and fast. So...with a grunt, he rips the bandage wraps from his palms, exposing the glyph rings on his palms to the open air. In a technique similar to the reverse-channeling needed to perform Destiny Jump ( the tele), he begins actively pulling energy into his body, rather than simply opening himself up to channel. True, this had a bit of a fatiguing effect, but hey; better than trying to face the beast with only his fist and blade...

((After our match, can you help me out with a bit of character maintenance? I'm feelin' like I might have spent so much effort trying to balance out my character that I handicapped myself...))

<<...yeah...guess so, sure... . =; >>

::The heavy rumbling continues to rattle the ground underneath the city streets, before it is strangely lifted; as if a stereo speaker booming out heavy bass is pulled from a surface to relieve it of the vibration, the ground is instantly free of the recurring quakes. There is another sound, the building rattling gently again. Not a blink of an eye later, a bright flash and a pop can be seen and heard from behind Trei.

A blazing black orb of ki - roughly the size of a pick-up truck - is soaring through the air, threatening to remove the remnants of the building Trei once stood upon, possibly taking him out as well should he stay in place.

Should the ball go unhindered, it'd result in a relatively contained explosion, a shockwave tearing apart at the surrounding architecture and a huge pillar of fire and smoke blowing outward from ground zero. Just as this happens, the moderately sized building that was rumbling just a moment ago lifts high into the air at an unsettling speed. Without warning it tilts backwards, falling in that direction until it is fully horizontal, and then stopping abruptly. Now visible underneath it is the monster himself, Demonic Fierce. His arms raised up, his black claws have torn into the concrete and caught the heavy structure, barely holding itself together as the devil floats over two hundred feet in the air, looking down.

With the marred foundation of the building dangling from the end facing the demon's target, his grin has changed to that of a discontented frown, as if irritated in some way or another. The veins in his arms are pulsing visibly with blood as he holds up the building, so massive when compared to his form. His aura rages faster around him, the black mist at his feet flowing about his legs like a cloud. At the moment, rather than attacking, he seems more or less inclined to present the uplifted structure to anyone watching, waiting for Trei to present himself.::

At the sound of the Pop, Trei spins, squinting against the sudden light...and then falls back as the huge blast appears. Rather than try and block the thing head on, he throws his palms up...and a ramp of golden energy launches up to connect the ground ahead of him to the roof of his previous perch. the form of a shallow ramp...hopefully, even if it didn't hit the roof, the ramp would divert the ball up and over Trei, rather than into him. If not...well, it'd been fun.
PostPosted: Thu May 18, 2006 9:33 pm
<<Note: ....that was a ball, not a blast... < <;; ...a blast and a ball aren't even a little bit similar.[/picky]>>

::Thankfully for Trei, the ball smashes against the ramp, flattening against it and sparking violently with electricity, but not breaking through. He's lucky it has such a thick surface tension; any weaker and it would've exploded in his face. With only downed rubble left of the building behind the boy, the black and red orb of energy sails overhead and into the sky, whizzing by underneath the floating Fierce.

The devil glances down at it, narrowing his absymal eyes and growling as the attack passes. Baring his teeth, he looks back down to Trei, an infuriated look in his eyes as a red haze glows about his irises.::

...kreeeghh...rryaahh!!!

::Letting out a beastly, animalistic roar, he rears his upper torso back before swinging his arms down, releasing and hurling the small building in his grasp down at his prey bottom-first like a spear. It moves at high speed, loose chunks of the architecture falling off as it begins to break apart before impact. Obviously, having several dozen tons of steel and concrete land on you with the added force of intense kinetic energy isn't exactly the most pleasant sensation. Nothing around the landing point would be terribly recognizable after the smoke cleared, and that would take a while.

Not waiting any longer than a heartbeat after the structure is supposed to turn Trei into a pancake, both arms still aimed forward, the Red-Headed Devil again charges ki into his arms, clenching his fists tightly. Straightening his posture, energetic electricity pulses up and down through his muscles as his arms tuck in more toward his chest, which tighten more as a certain amount of strain is exerted upon them. His power is not only seeming to multiply, but said power is gathering into his forearms.

The very atmosphere around him begins to ripple with a temporary distortion of reality, invisible swells of energy radiating from his body as if numerous high-yield thermonuclear weapons are going off 200 feet above the sidewalk, heavy booms accompanying them. The results are that buildings start rattling and rocking uncontrollably at the outskirts of the city, the urban area being literally blown away within a half-mile radius.::

...rrrrghh....hrrmghh...k-k-k-k-khheehh....

::His muscles tensing sporatically, Fierce's eyes narrow more as he grits his sharp fangs together. Preparing to unleash one of his most powerful maneuvers, he is clearly not a happy monster, his arms shivering as they are enveloped by a twisted vermillion glow. Surviving this would be either the luckiest or unluckiest thing for Trei, depending on how he manages doing so. The beast starts to hunch forward as the power of his arms alone reach that of almost twice that of his normal power. <For the curious, that's about 40 billion in number form. A human's is an average of just 3.> The flamelike arms of his aura are literally exploding outward from his person as he powers up, the ethereal mist swirling like a hurricane about his ankles. Whatever he is planning is going to take just a moment longer...::

Luckily for Trei, he hadn't been stupid enough to try and take a breather after his ramp trick deflected the ki ball ((happy? xd )). Rather, he immediately rolled to the side, hauling a** as soon as he makes it to his feet, all the while drawing more and more energy into his body. The golden aura around his figure is suddenly VERY vibrant, and arcs of golden lightning flicker across his frame. Unfortunately, now he's also starting to feel the effects...his chest is starting to tighten, and his limbs are feeling heavier...He needs his energy to fight. With a groan, he relinquishes on his attempt, settling for the current store of energy for now.

However, he doesn't give up running...ducking and weaving through the alleyways, he continues in his effort to put as much distance between himself and the demon's spear as possible...however, the impact still catches up with him, a wave of dust and wind slamming into the young spirit's back that throws him for a literal loop down an alleyway. As bits of building rain down around him, including one nasty chunk that slams into the back of his left shoulder and fills the air with a single nasty popping sound, the young man does his best to regain his footing. Didn't make it far enough...but he has to regain some footing, so as to perform a strike of his own...

Edit: Unfortunately, the sudden sound of explosions, and the accompanying shockwaves, dun' exactly bode well for any kind of a come-back.

((The active draw crams about three posts worth of passive draw into one. That's why it has the fatigue thing goin' on. So, after three posts, minus the ramp, he's got about 7.5 to eight posts worth of passive draw energy in him.))

PostPosted: Sat May 20, 2006 4:03 pm
::The density of the monster's aura itself is taking enough of a toll on the atmosphere to create a sudden increase of pressure as his power rises, a temperature of 345 degrees (F) now surrounding him. Due to the source of the temperature, this heat quickly dies the further away from him one is.

Like the slow inflation and deflation of the lungs, the sporadic motions of his abysmal dark aura pulse back and forth, growing as large as 100 feet wide in quick bursts before slowly shrinking into his body, and then jumping outward again. This is made somewhat less prominent with the bright bolts of crimson electrical energy dancing and twisting about his hunched frame, some growing so long as to nearly touch the ground over 200 feet below. The red-laced fiery arms of ki energy stretching out from him fade as they reach a certain distance, seeming to be stretching out for anything to take hold of.

About the demon's feet, the Black Mist continues its violent swirl, faint wisps crawling up his legs as the cloud grows larger beneath him. As if appearances alone weren't enough, the most obvious effect this is all having is the constant quaking. Just as each massive wave of invisible energy plows into the planet, it rocks heavily, threatening to simply fall apart as it trembles beneath the force of this awesome power.

The gravity of the celestial sphere itself is lessened within a five mile radius of the beast, to the point at which pebbles and rocks are lifted from the ground and dust simply rises into the air like smoke. If this weren't bad enough, Fierce's aura has grown so dense with energy that his gravitational pull on the objects around him has multiplied several thousand times over, pulling in ravaged debris and causing it to circle slowly around him. The larger buildings of the area teeter back and forth in a struggle to not tip over towards the devil; at this distance, Trei will only feel lighter, he won't be pulled backward.

Just over thirty seconds have passed, the tremendous charge of energy finally coming to a halt. Soon, the rumbling stops as well. While a gentle vibration of the earth remains, the constant shrieking of the demonic aura has quieted to a significant degree. Breathing heavily with his curled arms hanging below his head, both shoulders tensing and relaxing as he exhales, Fierce looks down at his hands, his veins pulsing boldy as his muscles glow with the blood red shade of his own ki. Within each arm is enough power to surpass his own by another half, his strength having multiplied by three just for this one maneuver. Of course, as with all ki energy attacks, he must use this now or discard it.

His knees bent and his upper torso hucnhed forward, he jerks his head up, widening his black eyes as his face draws a total blank, an unsettlingly vacant expression on his face. He's looking for the boy again. Not caring how far he got, he wanted to execute this move, and lost sight of him. He soon catches his small ki signature, somewhere off within the city to his left. Not far enough - especially not with this much power behind the maneuver. His energy calming around him, the juggernaut has but one thing left to do.

Stretching his back straight again, he looks down at the earth, the waves of force coming from his body having removed any sign of civilization within a 500 foot diameter around him on the ground; the roadway and sidewalk are stripped away like wrapping paper. A broad, sick smile adorns his expression as he looks down, the muscles of his arms spasming and twitching in an attempt to contain the power coursing through them. The sparks of energy rush up and down his shivering limbs at a more frantic pace as he thrusts his arms up and behind his head, curling his wrists in as he clenches his fingers into tighter fists.::

Rrrryaaaaaahh!!!!

::Narrowing his eyes and letting out a malicious snarl, he flies straight down toward the floor beneath, holding his left leg forward and bending the other at the knee as he falls; following just behind him in a downward spiral is the ethereal entity of the Mist, struggling to keep up. Just as he reaches the ground, he lands onto his right knee, swinging both of his charged forearms at the ground with unbelievable force. This results in a chain reaction attack pouring into the planet in every direction.

First, an earthbound shockwave ripples throughout the crust of the earth, tearing up a massive wall of dirt and rock that spreads out in every direction like a tsunami. Debris is kicked up in all directions as this 300 foot-tall tidal wave of earth smashes into urban structures, either crumbling them entirely or shattering their foundations. Moving at over 18,000mph, it loses power and dies at a distance of approximately twenty-five miles.

Following just behind this is a second crushing force; an airborne wave of physical energy rolling out over the ground and through the sky like an unstoppable wrecking ball in any given direction. What the initial grounded shockwave didn't detsroy is shattered like glass as this one crashes into it. These impacts send shards of steel and concrete through the air, hurling them into the atmoshpere by the unimaginable forces at work.

To finish the job, the final offensive tactic of the Critical Tekken makes its mark so soon after it began. A blinding white flash of light can be seen, but only long enough to realize what is to about to occur. Replacing it at Fierce's location only a hundredth of a millisecond after he hits the ground is an astronomical, vermillion explosion, a dome of destructive energy detonating and rushing outward along the planet surface at Mach 5. everything left within the area is disintegrated almost instantaneously, no natural physical object durable enough to withstand the force.

This time even the planet crust itself isn't immune, this enormous blast digging a massive crater into it like firing a pistol round into a mound of sand. Outrunning and outliving its predecessors, the third effect of the Critical Tekken fills the sky up to four miles in the shape of a flattened semicircle, being wider than taller. The entire Earth is slammed by the sheer strength of the impact, threatening to be hurled out of its orbit as it is racked with a series of reverberating earthquakes. When the Tekken finally dies, the entirety of the Red-Headed Devil's power having been unleashed, it has travelled over a hundred miles in every direction. The only thing that can be seen is a massive tower of smoke and dust, rising into the sky or retreating from it.

A dull quivering of the Earth can be felt if one is on solid ground, no clouds now in sight, and the Sun being blocked by the rising pillar of smoke. Within the devastation that once was a bustling city is a gargantuan crater, digging three miles down into the ground, and stretching nearly twenty miles across. There is no trace of any civilization within.::

Just watching the beast, Trei realizes that he's in unbelievably deep... Suddenly, the sky-borne display ends, and the beast suddenly turns upside-down and launches for the ground. This is his last chance...with a cry of his own, Trei slams his palms down against the ground, sending energy arcing across the earth's surface to a point directly beneath the Demon's falling form...As the beast comes down, a spike of golden energy launches straight up into the sky, formed from the most powerful form of offensive energy Trei can create...Cutting energy that, following impact/contact, releases explosive energy. If the beast lands squarely, the whole massive spike will go Ka-boom...

((Sorry, I'm taking the chance for an interrupt.))

<<...in chronological order, this post takes place somewhere within the paragraph after the red text in Deity's last message...>>

::Due to the height of the descent, Fierce can see the relatively short spike bursting into existence. It thrusts upward over twenty feet as he falls, the four bladelike edges on each compass side of the gilded pillar hoping to catch the monster via impalement. Though arguably a lunatic, Fierce isn't unintelligent. Even at his speed, he manages to to divert his course to his left, ignoring the pillar almost entirely in a single-minded attempt to execute the task at hand.

The blade connects. Just a few feet below the very tip, the golden edge of one of the blades cuts into the demon, slicing through his torso a few inches. The Red-Headed Devil doesn't slow down. The gash in his right side only growing deeper as he flies down along the side of the spike, he hardly appears to flinch, only an infuriated look consuming his expression until he reaches the ground. Despite being all but torn in half, he is able to connect his fists with the ground before the explosion of the gilded energy can take place. What it will do to him after the Tekken has been unleashed, however, is thus far a mystery.::

((so, then, Tekken's gone off I assume.))

As a wave of doomyness expands, Trei closes his eyes and clenches his fist, his final thought an order to the massive spike. A single word, a single goal. All he can hope at this point is to take the b*****d with him.

Detonate.
