[PRP] Brotherly Adventure (Enzi x Siri x Khalifa)

Enzi stretch as he looked outside from the den. He couldn’t wait to go outside and explore. He looked at his brother Siri. He took to himself. Enzi didn’t like the idea of being cooped up inside all the time. It was a great day outside. Wasting it by staying indoors wasn’t an option for him. He walked over to Siri, a big smile on his face. “Hey Siri, want to go play outside? We could play tag or hide and seek. Or go exploring! Maybe Khalifa will join! It’ll be a lot of fun!” His smile got wider. Who could say no to his face? No one! At least that's what Enzi believed. "Hey Khalifa, you want to go do something, right?"

Siri was napping peacefully in a small pool of sunlight that came through the roof of the den when his brother woke him. He cracked one golden eye open to look up at Enzi before snorting quietly. He rolled to his back, stretching his paws up in the air with a yawn, before flopping back to his side.

He was a fairly silent cub still despite his age. He certainly wasn't a mewling infant anymore, but Siri kept his words to himself most of the time. When he did speak it was very quietly, making others lean in to hear him. For now, though, he didn't say a word, he just watched Enzi try to get their other brother, Khalifa, into joining him. Perhaps if they both decided to go he'd join them.

Khalifa woke up with a wide yawn and a bright smile on his face. The sun was dazzling and cast a radiant glow over their forest home. Khalifa was ready to go! When he heard his brother calling him, he skipped over to see what was going on.

"Yeah! I wanna do something!," he said happily. "Lets go on an adventure!"

He immediately set out to pester their other brother in an effort to motivate him. Khalifa nudged Siri and said, "Get up Siri, let's go!"

“See? Come on Siri!” Enzi hopped over to the other side of his brother and nudged him with his nose toward the entrance of the den. “Any ideas on where to explore?” He looked up at his brother Khalifa. “Maybe there’s something in the forest. Like a haunted cave… or a spot in the woods where no one goes! That would be so much fun!”

Khalifa's decision to join Enzi helped make up Siri's mind. He didn't want to be left here with the girls, after all. As Enzi came over to nudge him he rolled to his feet, stretching once more to get his muscles energized and ready to walk or run.

He looked between his brothers, shrugging a bit when asked where they should go. He was fine just following along and watching. They hadn't been allowed to do much exploring since they were still pretty young, but lion cubs grew up quickly. Their curiosity wasn't satisfied with the same den day in and day out.

Moving to the mouth of the den, Siri paused and looked over his shoulder to see if the other two were coming. Any direction they went in would prove to be exciting, at least!

"Lets go hunting!," Khalifa said running to the mouth of the cave. Of course, by "hunting" he meant searching for bugs and small animals in the area. Khalifa loved playing pretend and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

The small boy began to walk carefully down the slight decline from the cave mouth to where the rock met the dirt. He waited for his brothers to catch up before racing towards the grass. There was an area toward the right where the grass met the trees where they could have a great adventure!

"C'mon guys!"

Enzi followed Khalifa with a big smile on his face. “That sounds perfect!” He was going a little too fast and tripped once he was at the entrance. He slid down the steep hill and right into the tall grass. He ended up falling on his face when he finally stopped. “Ow….” He said quietly to himself. He lifted his head and looked at his brothers, a single blade of grass balanced across his muzzle. He shook his head to get off and walked out of the grass. He sat down and rubbed his nose as he looked at his brothers. “Hurry up! Lets go!”

Hunting? That made Siri's ears p***k up in interest. He liked to hunt. Really liked it, in fact. His usual 'prey' was the tip of his mother's tail or his snoozing siblings with the occasional bug that crossed his path. Going out to find something that was potentially bigger and harder to catch was quite the thought. Delighted with the decision, he followed the other two cubs out of the den without looking back.

As Khalifa and Enzi tumbled out of the den, he paused to look around before inching his way along a narrow ridge between the wall of the den and the slope. It became less of a drop a few paces down, and he hopped to the ground without incident. Turning to the other two, he ran to catch up, a tiny smile on his face. Just because he didn't speak often didn't mean he didn't communicate. His expression and eager body language was enough to let the other males know he was in for the hunt.

Once Khalifa was sure his brothers were with him, he slowly crept into the densely forested lands that they were surrounded by. He put his little nose to the ground and sniffed around bit before taking off. He ran through the trees happily with a wide smile on his face, excited for him and his brothers to be on their own. He felt like a wild rogue!

As he sniffed around he thought he saw something move in the leaves and foliage. Khalifa pounced on the spot, but when he looked into his paws there were only flowers. The cub huffed, he would find something!

Enzi chased after his brothers. This was going to be so much fun, he could taste it. It felt like a hunting party with just him and his brothers. He watched as Khalifa pounced on some flowers and stifled a giggle. He was on the hunt too, he just didn’t know for what. He sniffed the air and then the ground, looking for anything that smelled like prey. “Did you guys find anything? I think my nose isn’t working,” he joked. He didn’t smell anything in the area they were in, but that didn’t mean his brothers hadn’t found anything.

Following his brothers, Siri began to sniff around as well for something to hunt in the foliage. When Enzi said his nose wasn't working, though, he abandoned his quest and went over to the other cub. He squinted slightly, peering at Enzi's nose, before poking it with his paw. It looked like it was okay.

"Maybe there's nothing around to smell," he suggested, his voice quiet but steady. He turned to head a little deeper into the trees, putting his own nose to the ground. He didn't have to sniff for too long - a small lizard scurried out from the grass that he pushed aside.

"Whoa!" he said in surprise, pulling back from the tiny thing.

"I didn't find anything but flowers! There's gotta be something interesting around here somewhere." Khalifa huffed. Even though they hadn't really gone that far into the trees, to the small cub it seemed like they were in the middle of the forest. To him, the middle of the forest is where all the interesting creatures lived.

Khalifa was about to start digging in the dirt for something when he heard Siri's cry of surprise. He only had enough time to turn around and look up quickly before he saw the flash of green run by Siri.

"Catch it!," the cub yelled as he ran past Enzi chased the small reptile through the trees.

Enzi tried sniffing again. All he got was grass and dirt. He sighed for a moment then looked up at Siri. He laughed as he saw the little green lizard run by his brother. “I didn’t know you were afraid of lizards!” he teased. “Hey, can you imagine what are sisters would do! Let’s catch it and drop it on them!”

Once Khalifa ran by, Enzi’s smile grew wider. He ran after his brother shouting “Wait up for me!”

Siri found himself on his rump as his two brothers dashed by after the lizard. He shook his head a bit to clear the startled expression off his face. He wasn't afraid of lizards! He got to his feet and chased after the three, catching up to his brothers but staying behind them. The lizard continued running frantically, trying to find somewhere to hide. Finally it darted to the left, hoping to hide in some tall grass.

Siri wasn't about to let it get away, though. He circled the patch of grass so he was on the opposite side from his brothers. "You stay. I'll flush it out, then you guys get it," he said, sticking his nose into the weeds. He walked forward slowly, disappearing in the tall grass that was well over his head. A moment or so later and the lizard dashed out again, right towards the two other cubs.

Khalifa giggled with excitement at the idea of surprising their sisters with the lizard that their darker brother found. When Siri cornered the small creature, Khalifa stood perfectly still and gazed intently at the grass Siri was stalking.

When the lizard dashed out, he was ready this time! Khalifa stood his ground until the lizard was just about to scurry past him, then he pounced!

His entire body landed on top of the poor creature and the cub scrambled a bit with his paws until he caught the thing by its tail in his mouth. When he was sure he had a hold of it, Khalifa stood slowly and faced him brothers grinning around the lizard's tail.

Khalifa was feeling pretty proud of himself. He couldn't wait until they found their sisters to hopefully frighten them with their collective catch. He wondered where they could be...
