Jory was ready, but then Jory was usually the more punctual of the two. After Zaire's early message(Which had been a surprise all on it's own) he'd taken a quick shower, then gone straight to his closet, because if Zaire was taking him on a date, he wanted to look good. It was a pair of green and blue shorts that won out, paired with a dark grey t-shirt. Feet, as usual, were bare--the feel of anything on them just felt...wrong.
White hair had been pulled back into a ponytail, higher up then he usually wore it, in the sort of high tail Zaire had started to wear for him.
He was grinning as he answered the door, baby blues narrowed up at the taller boil before he was moving forward to steal a quick peck from the mahamba's lips. A quick pat to his pockets insured he had phone and wallet, then he nodded. "Yep, all ready."
A hand sought out one of Zaire's as he closed the door behind him with his tail.

Claws tickled his chin, made him blink, giggling at the touch before swatting at Zaire's fingers gently with his free hand. With his shoulder he gave him a nudge, leaning into him for a few paces as the maul came into view.
As they reached the doors Jory released Zaire's hand so he could open the door for him, and he slipped past with a soft murmur of thanks, pausing just past them and waiting for his boilfriend to catch up. When he was at his side again a hand slipped out, tucking in at Zaire's elbow so he could lean into the taller boil again, head tilting up to peg the mahamba at the mention of meat cologne. He gave his boil a look the comment deserved, brows arched, lips twisted incredulously.
"If they did, I think there would be creeple being nibbled on all the time." Nibbling could be fun, but Jory didn't want some random monster wandering up to gnaw on his ankle cause he happened to smell like a favorite snack.
Bumping his nose into Zaire's cheek, the boil turned to look out into the maul. It was crowded, but not too bad as to set off his anxiety so long as he kept close to his boilfriend. "What do you want to do first? The fountain, for your wish?"

Jory was practically glued to the mahamba's cheek as they began working their way through the crowd. It wasn't so bad, not when he could hold the taller boil's am, feel his pulse through fingers that rested at the crook of his elbow. He even enjoyed the little bit of creeple watching he found himself doing as they wandered through the maul in the way to the fountain.
"What do you want to wish for?" He didn't think Zaire could tell him, not and have the wishes come true, but maybe he could hint?
Blinking, one hand moved from Zaire's arm to reach into his pocket, feeling around until he found a couple of seeds of his own. He could make wishes too! This time not about homework. Although, in a round about way, his wish from last time had sort of come true.
He wasn't with Natalia, but he was in a happy relationship. One he wouldn't have traded away for anything.

The fountain was just up ahead, but for the moment he was distracted by the question. "Hmm....if I told you...wouldn't come true would it...?" A soft smirk was given to the other monster before he teasingly snapped teeth towards his cheek. But that didn't mean he couldn't play with him, and didn't at all mean the mahamba believed in wishes. Because they were foolish as were the people throwing the seeds in, but, just for today he was allowing himself a little foolishness.
"But you ...can try to gues-" Just before his sentence was finished, thanks to the way he drew his words out, it was cut short. The soft knock of another body had him snorting instead of finishing up. The murmur of apology sent his cold blood icy in vein, that voice he knew even muttered. Helki.
A smile was given to the smaller monster, one that was only partly forced since it was good to see him and then again not. "Helki..." The name was said with a sweetness he couldn't manage to tame even this time. Zaire's body tensed against Jory's, a sign he was growing awkward in the situation. That awkwardness only intensified as Helki referred to Jory as his new experience. That hit a sour note with the mahmaba and he sighed, glowing blues looking away for a moment then back down to Helki. "His names...Jory...and he's my boilfriend." The last word was edged in, eyes watching with slight concern in how the other monster would handle the news, then a glance given to Jory.
Jack damn it.

Jory's hand was still in his pocket, silently counting seeds, when Zaire was bumped. It had the monster blinking, looking up to see who they'd knocked into, to make sure they were alright, and the apology that had raised up naturally on his tongue froze there as he felt the tension singing through the mahamba's arm under his hands. Immediately the smaller boil stiffened, reacting to his boilrfiend's anxiety without having a clue as to what might have caused the worrying reaction.
It appeared to be another boil, and Jory frowned, gaze jumping between Zaire and the wolf, until that last comment, however mild the voice had been, had long ears drooping, frown hardening, as he pressed in tighter against the taller boil's side.
He didn't like the way that had sounded. It had him tightening his hold on Zaire's arm, though he wasn't fully aware of why.
He wanted to say something, anything, but it felt like his tongue was glued to the roof of his mouth, and even if it hadn't been, he didn't understand what what going on here, or why Zaire was suddenly so tense. Personal history of some sort, he supposed, but to what nature?
No, he definitely didn't like this. he could feel his anxiety level rising, creeping into his shoulders and making toes curl against the tile.

Zaire felt Jory stiffen against him, after the fact he tried to will his own body down. But only managed a little slack in his shoulders, it was a difficult situation, he wanted to be on guard just in case the temper he knew Helki had got the better of him. And that sent a dull ache deep inside, one that only got stronger with the way the wolf boil fell into silence.
It wasn't normal, nor was the thickened air around the three off them. Zaire knew Jory was likely confused, but at the moment thought it best not to explain. Instead he offered his boilfriend a squeeze of arm and sway against leg with tail. Really, he didn't know how to handle the situation in general, he knew it was coming but to be face to face with it was something of a different level entirely. So until Helki spoke again there was nothing but stares of awkwardness.
The quivering form congratulating them made a part unknown to him sink, it didn't feel good to see Helki upset that much was true. But he didn't have the right to upset Jory either, they had talked about this. Zaire gave a low snort, one Helki should have recognized as a warning. "It's recent.." He finally replied, firmly since even if recent it still mattered, not knowing what else to say he shrugged.
"I waited. I kept waiting and waiting."
Glowing blue eyes fixated on the other boil, only breaking gaze to look off. What the hell, why should he be feeling so guilty. If anything the annoyance he felt should be tenfold more, on a reach up of free hand he scratched his cheek and coughed, "..I told you.." Then he stopped, Helki going on to ask of his happiness had previous guilt flushing to allow anger to the forefront. "Helki, that's enough." The words were growled, low and just a hint towards the threatening side, without another word he gave a small tug to Jory's arm.
They were leaving.
"See... you later.." The words were directed to Helki with a small glance, he needed to go, before his own temper flared further and he did something he'd regret in front of them both.

Nope. Jory did not like this. He wanted to disappear, sink into the ground, let the tiles beneath his feet swallow him up so he didn't have to stare awkwardly at the ground to avoid looking at the miserable looking boil across from them as he shakily congratulated them, tone far from happy.
He could feel his heart pond, pulse loud in his ears, and knew his skin was fading. Not the snowy flush Zaire was used to, but a icy blue. Appropriate, since he felt frozen in place, unable to move, unable to speak, he stood there silently, hunched, clinging tightly to Zaire's arm, and wished he was anywhere else.
Wished they were anywhere else. He and the mahamba.
A fine trembling started at his core, and it spread out until fingers were shaky against tanned skin. Helki was talking to him, addressing him, but beyond an upward flick of blue eyes he didn't respond. What they were talking about included the afanc, but really, he was more or less superfluous to the conversation. It was personal, in a way that made Jory's insides squirm uncomfortably.
The growl made him flinch, and now his head lifted, wide eyes rising to his boilfriend before he was giving his arm a tug to get them moving. Wordlessly the afanc followed, dragging behind a step or two before lengthening his stride to fall into step, as close to Zaire's side as he could be without tripping the other boil's legs up.
His mind was whirling, confused and ugly, as old insecurities and rolled up to battle with new feelings, and on top of all of it, an awful sense he could quite place, but might have been guilt.
What did he have to feel guilty about?
