It was lunch time, maybe a few minutes after, when he arrived. Though unlike the normal sleeping in excuse, that hadn't been the reason Zaire was late to pick up boilfriend for the maul. Today he had actually spent some time to clean himself up, making sure to shower and pick clothes he hadn't lazily nibbled on in the night. A comb of hair had the long blue locks resting in a damp braid at the side of right shoulder, it was becoming a habit to put his hair up not only for Jory's attention but because he actually liked how it looked himself.

Outfit in order he lifted a tanned hand and knocked, rocking back on his heels to wait afterward. Zaire didn't just want to make a wish like he had told Jory over critter, no, he also wanted to show Jory the photobooth he had mentioned before. "You ready yet....?" He called out teasingly, knowing full well he was the late one.

Jory was ready, but then Jory was usually the more punctual of the two. After Zaire's early message(Which had been a surprise all on it's own) he'd taken a quick shower, then gone straight to his closet, because if Zaire was taking him on a date, he wanted to look good. It was a pair of green and blue shorts that won out, paired with a dark grey t-shirt. Feet, as usual, were bare--the feel of anything on them just felt...wrong.

White hair had been pulled back into a ponytail, higher up then he usually wore it, in the sort of high tail Zaire had started to wear for him.

He was grinning as he answered the door, baby blues narrowed up at the taller boil before he was moving forward to steal a quick peck from the mahamba's lips. A quick pat to his pockets insured he had phone and wallet, then he nodded. "Yep, all ready."

A hand sought out one of Zaire's as he closed the door behind him with his tail.

"Like the hair..." As Jory exited blues ran over the other boils form in appreciation. Blues and greens ready did suit him, a lot. Grinning into the kiss he pressed back into it before they parted. "Great...let's get going.." Tanned fingers instantly wrapped around the blue fingers that sought him out, curling against them in a firm hold.

Leading the way he was mostly silent, only once breaking the air with a playful lean in and nuzzle of the other boils cheek. They didn't need to speak, that was something he enjoyed about their relationship. It was easy, perfect really, much like the weather they walked out into. It wasn't to cold nor hot outside and as far the sky told they would have perfect walking weather.

"Yeah?" Good. The compliment had him beaming, fingers squeezing Zaire's fondly as they headed out of the dorms, hands swinging slightly between them. When there was nothing weighing him down, no doubts or insecurities rearing their ugly heads, Jory was just fine sharing the quiet with Zaire. So they could walk along in silence, without the need for small talk bubbling out awkwardly. Only a soft chuckle as the taller boil bumped into him, nuzzling his cheek.

As they walked towards the front gate the afanc tipped his head back, letting the pumpkin sun warm his face. It really was gorgeous out. Warm, but not overly hot. A perfect day for a date.

"Mhm" The swing was allowed and even aided by his own. The motion felt good and he liked the silliness in it, plus, it was to cute to see Jory beaming like it was over just a compliment. As they made their way he was perfectly content to creeple watch. Not really paying much mind though as he did.

On a glance he caught Jory sunning and smirked, free hand reaching across to tickle a claw under his chin teasingly. Pulling back glowing blues focused on the path head, the maul was insight finally. Good thing to because they both knew how he loved physical exertion. Approaching the food court doors, Zaire gave a shake of the connected hands signally for a release as the other went out to open the door for his boilfriend.

A lazy grin firmly in place as he inhaled the various delicious scents, "to bad they don't make ...meat cologne..." Blues landed on Jory with the comment, then he chuckled on inner reconsideration. That might lead to trouble on second thought, he could see himself biting a little harder than the other boil liked.

Claws tickled his chin, made him blink, giggling at the touch before swatting at Zaire's fingers gently with his free hand. With his shoulder he gave him a nudge, leaning into him for a few paces as the maul came into view.

As they reached the doors Jory released Zaire's hand so he could open the door for him, and he slipped past with a soft murmur of thanks, pausing just past them and waiting for his boilfriend to catch up. When he was at his side again a hand slipped out, tucking in at Zaire's elbow so he could lean into the taller boil again, head tilting up to peg the mahamba at the mention of meat cologne. He gave his boil a look the comment deserved, brows arched, lips twisted incredulously.

"If they did, I think there would be creeple being nibbled on all the time." Nibbling could be fun, but Jory didn't want some random monster wandering up to gnaw on his ankle cause he happened to smell like a favorite snack.

Bumping his nose into Zaire's cheek, the boil turned to look out into the maul. It was crowded, but not too bad as to set off his anxiety so long as he kept close to his boilfriend. "What do you want to do first? The fountain, for your wish?"

The playful touches and tickles had the mahamba relaxing down. His own uneasiness about crowds was far less than Jory's but it was still appreciated that there wasn't many creeple around. It made the day that much more enjoyable, as did the curl around him as he stepped to his side. The smells excited him, the sounds too, and less people meant more chance at the photobooth.

With Jory connected at the elbow the taller boil gave a squeeze against arm around his and smirked. At the look he only smirked wider, that was the first time he had even been close to getting scolded. And it was kind of hilarious, much more effective than actually nagging, of course he was sure the other knew he was joking, words soon to confirm this.

"Mmm...yea...not a good idea...only I can nibble you...." He snapped his teeth playfully then murred as the nose pressed to his cheek. Shifting his free hand back and putting it into his pocket, fingers pushing and playing at the pocket full of silver seeds.

Instead of answering he leaned into his boilfriend and started to lead them towards the fountain.

Jory was practically glued to the mahamba's cheek as they began working their way through the crowd. It wasn't so bad, not when he could hold the taller boil's am, feel his pulse through fingers that rested at the crook of his elbow. He even enjoyed the little bit of creeple watching he found himself doing as they wandered through the maul in the way to the fountain.

"What do you want to wish for?" He didn't think Zaire could tell him, not and have the wishes come true, but maybe he could hint?

Blinking, one hand moved from Zaire's arm to reach into his pocket, feeling around until he found a couple of seeds of his own. He could make wishes too! This time not about homework. Although, in a round about way, his wish from last time had sort of come true.

He wasn't with Natalia, but he was in a happy relationship. One he wouldn't have traded away for anything.

Things hadn't been the same ever since that conversation both Helki and Zaire had back at the mahamba's room following the scene the wolf boil created at the cafeteria on his very first day in Amityville. The once zealous freshman attended the bare minimum of classes that was expected of him now and made sure to avoid Zaire almost as if the other boil had suddenly contracted a case of a terminal disease that was contagious. Zaire would come back to him eventually. Once he had been with another boil or ghoul (it didn't really matter who), he would come to realize that there wasn't anyone out there who was able to make him as happy as Helki.

He told himself that day after day as he waited.

But Zaire didn't look back or come a knocking.

Today was supposed to be a quick trip to the maul. It hurts him to be among so many people. Some in pairs and obviously out on a date. Groups of friends who were out to enjoy themselves. All of them made him feel even more self conscious of the fact that he was all alone. He had picked up what he needed then started making his way to the fountain out of nostalgia. He remembered Zaire laughing when he admitted once to believing wholeheartedly in wishes coming true when one made a wish at the fountain. Perhaps if he made a wish at the fountain now...

It was with that faint sliver of hope afforded by that particular thought alone that he gathered up the courage to press on through the crowd towards where the fountain was as indicated by the directions provided by the signs in the maul. The fountain was just up ahead when he accidentally bumped into another, a murmured apology as he turned to the other and then he reflexively took a step back, his eyes going wide at the mahamba boil before him. "... Zaire."

Was this it? Was his wait finally over? Did his wish come true? But he hadn't even gotten to the fountain yet.

His mind went blank the moment his gaze took in the sight of the other boil who was next to him. "So... this boil is part of your new experience in Amityville huh?"

The fountain was just up ahead, but for the moment he was distracted by the question. "Hmm....if I told you...wouldn't come true would it...?" A soft smirk was given to the other monster before he teasingly snapped teeth towards his cheek. But that didn't mean he couldn't play with him, and didn't at all mean the mahamba believed in wishes. Because they were foolish as were the people throwing the seeds in, but, just for today he was allowing himself a little foolishness.

"But you ...can try to gues-" Just before his sentence was finished, thanks to the way he drew his words out, it was cut short. The soft knock of another body had him snorting instead of finishing up. The murmur of apology sent his cold blood icy in vein, that voice he knew even muttered. Helki.

A smile was given to the smaller monster, one that was only partly forced since it was good to see him and then again not. "Helki..." The name was said with a sweetness he couldn't manage to tame even this time. Zaire's body tensed against Jory's, a sign he was growing awkward in the situation. That awkwardness only intensified as Helki referred to Jory as his new experience. That hit a sour note with the mahmaba and he sighed, glowing blues looking away for a moment then back down to Helki. "His names...Jory...and he's my boilfriend." The last word was edged in, eyes watching with slight concern in how the other monster would handle the news, then a glance given to Jory.

Jack damn it.

Jory's hand was still in his pocket, silently counting seeds, when Zaire was bumped. It had the monster blinking, looking up to see who they'd knocked into, to make sure they were alright, and the apology that had raised up naturally on his tongue froze there as he felt the tension singing through the mahamba's arm under his hands. Immediately the smaller boil stiffened, reacting to his boilrfiend's anxiety without having a clue as to what might have caused the worrying reaction.

It appeared to be another boil, and Jory frowned, gaze jumping between Zaire and the wolf, until that last comment, however mild the voice had been, had long ears drooping, frown hardening, as he pressed in tighter against the taller boil's side.

He didn't like the way that had sounded. It had him tightening his hold on Zaire's arm, though he wasn't fully aware of why.

He wanted to say something, anything, but it felt like his tongue was glued to the roof of his mouth, and even if it hadn't been, he didn't understand what what going on here, or why Zaire was suddenly so tense. Personal history of some sort, he supposed, but to what nature?

No, he definitely didn't like this. he could feel his anxiety level rising, creeping into his shoulders and making toes curl against the tile.

They were right in the middle of the maul now with many other creeple around them. It would be low of him to create a scene right here and ruin everything for everyone all things considered. Helki kept reminding himself over and over, trying to keep a tight rein on his emotions while Zaire introduced Jory to him as his boilfriend. Sadness. Anger. Bitterness. All of that hit him hard at the same time. Was this what he had worked so long and hard to get himself transferred to Amityville for?

He wanted to cry. To pull Zaire over to his side where he rightfully belonged. To give Jory a good shaking while telling him that he had absolutely no right at all to stand beside the mahamba boil and cling onto him like that. That he was the only one who occupied a special place in Zaire's heart. He found himself unable to move or vocalize any of his thoughts however, the next couple of seconds spent in a deafening silence as he dug his claws tightly into his palms, unsure as to where he should start or what he ought to do now that things had come to this.

"That's new. Congratulations to you..." He finally wet his lips and settled with that, his entire form quivering as he dipped his head first at Zaire then at Jory, trying to maintain a look of indifference on his face as he flattened his ears on his head and focused his gaze entirely on Jory now. "and you then for finding each other here in Amity." The other boil seemed ordinary enough. He couldn't really understand what it was that Zaire saw in Jory that made him want to be with him instead of Helki. Maybe it was because he didn't nag at him at all for sleeping or eating too much.

"I waited. I kept waiting and waiting." He wouldn't be creating a scene at the fountain for both Zaire and Jory to remember him by - that much was certain by now. He gave a shrug, trying to pretend that this all wasn't getting to him even if it was slowly tearing him apart from within. "But I guess I should have known better. Are you... happier now?"

Zaire felt Jory stiffen against him, after the fact he tried to will his own body down. But only managed a little slack in his shoulders, it was a difficult situation, he wanted to be on guard just in case the temper he knew Helki had got the better of him. And that sent a dull ache deep inside, one that only got stronger with the way the wolf boil fell into silence.

It wasn't normal, nor was the thickened air around the three off them. Zaire knew Jory was likely confused, but at the moment thought it best not to explain. Instead he offered his boilfriend a squeeze of arm and sway against leg with tail. Really, he didn't know how to handle the situation in general, he knew it was coming but to be face to face with it was something of a different level entirely. So until Helki spoke again there was nothing but stares of awkwardness.

The quivering form congratulating them made a part unknown to him sink, it didn't feel good to see Helki upset that much was true. But he didn't have the right to upset Jory either, they had talked about this. Zaire gave a low snort, one Helki should have recognized as a warning. "It's recent.." He finally replied, firmly since even if recent it still mattered, not knowing what else to say he shrugged.

"I waited. I kept waiting and waiting."

Glowing blue eyes fixated on the other boil, only breaking gaze to look off. What the hell, why should he be feeling so guilty. If anything the annoyance he felt should be tenfold more, on a reach up of free hand he scratched his cheek and coughed, "..I told you.." Then he stopped, Helki going on to ask of his happiness had previous guilt flushing to allow anger to the forefront. "Helki, that's enough." The words were growled, low and just a hint towards the threatening side, without another word he gave a small tug to Jory's arm.

They were leaving.

"See... you later.." The words were directed to Helki with a small glance, he needed to go, before his own temper flared further and he did something he'd regret in front of them both.

Nope. Jory did not like this. He wanted to disappear, sink into the ground, let the tiles beneath his feet swallow him up so he didn't have to stare awkwardly at the ground to avoid looking at the miserable looking boil across from them as he shakily congratulated them, tone far from happy.

He could feel his heart pond, pulse loud in his ears, and knew his skin was fading. Not the snowy flush Zaire was used to, but a icy blue. Appropriate, since he felt frozen in place, unable to move, unable to speak, he stood there silently, hunched, clinging tightly to Zaire's arm, and wished he was anywhere else.

Wished they were anywhere else. He and the mahamba.

A fine trembling started at his core, and it spread out until fingers were shaky against tanned skin. Helki was talking to him, addressing him, but beyond an upward flick of blue eyes he didn't respond. What they were talking about included the afanc, but really, he was more or less superfluous to the conversation. It was personal, in a way that made Jory's insides squirm uncomfortably.

The growl made him flinch, and now his head lifted, wide eyes rising to his boilfriend before he was giving his arm a tug to get them moving. Wordlessly the afanc followed, dragging behind a step or two before lengthening his stride to fall into step, as close to Zaire's side as he could be without tripping the other boil's legs up.

His mind was whirling, confused and ugly, as old insecurities and rolled up to battle with new feelings, and on top of all of it, an awful sense he could quite place, but might have been guilt.

What did he have to feel guilty about?

"No..." Like Zaire, deep down Helki knew too that it was probably best that he left things as they were lest he acted rashly and made an embarrassment of himself, Zaire and Jory. Before he could stop himself however, his hand had already lifted and attempted to wrap around the retreating mahamba's arm to get him to stop. To force his gaze back upon him so Zaire could see him for the boil who had always loved him unconditionally and held him way above even he himself. So that Zaire would realise there was no one else in Halloween who could be more perfect for him.

"This's not enough." He murmured quietly, his head shaking a few times as tears started welling up in his eyes. If he let Zaire leave with Jory, what would that leave him with? This wasn't sitting down well with him at all. Why shouldn't he be selfish for once and give all this up quietly without so much as a fight? What did Jory do for Zaire that he didn't? "Not for me. What did I do to deserve this Zaire? What did I do wrong?" He kept his gaze on Zaire the entire time, his grip stubbornly strong as he made it clear to the pair that he had changed his mind and wasn't going to let them go as easily as he had originally intended. Zaire would have to do more than just growl to get Helki off his back this time round.
